The OOC SubForum is for two things: recruitment and discussion. before you start a thread, you should (but dont have to) start an ooc thread for it. if it is a private rp, only make an ooc if it has more than five members posting in it (again, not required, just advised...and post the ooc for privat threads in the private rp SubForum). If you are looking for rps to join, check the OOC section for new and ongoing rps.
When starting an ooc for a new thread (just a guidline....you dont have to do it this way, or at all):
Post the OOC a few days before the thread, this way people can start talking about it, making their characters, ect. once the rp is up and running, use the ooc thread for the rp to discuss characters and events, so no one is confused on things. like say there was a fight, and person a threw a smokebomb to escape person b. instead of saying what happened, the character could disappear entirely. then, in the ooc, you post that he used the distraction to escape, and is halfway to wherever now.
startign an ooc for an existing thread:
Post an ooc note that the new ooc for the thread is open, so people know it's there. (this is required if you make an ooc thread for your thread) Then, any non essential ooc chatter can be moved to the ooc thread.
also, the ooc threads are where you tell members you're not going to be on due to whatever reason you give them. so if a rp partner disappears, chech the ooc thread to see if they said anything.
((if you aren't going to be on for more than 48 hours, please notify your rp partners...it's polite and it's a guild rule))
