Loyal Rainbow Readers, it has come to my attention that there has been an organized effort against satire. One that has been nameless until now. Too frightened to come forward and present themselves, this Cult of Modist a**-Kisserry is the greatest enemy yet seen.

I bring to you the efforts of The Gloriously Fascist Dictator of Ubiqstan, Xarn (Known as Clean Hands within the Family):

Xarn

If we are to attack anything whatsoever, we'll need to marshall our forces properly first, to avoid a rout.

I'll elaborate when i get back, but it seems that my thread and yours both were the victims of individuals who hang out in the moddist thread in the religion subforum. You know, the one called "DO YOU BELEIVE IN MOD?"

It's aparently a thread-clique that the mods actually gave special premission to do whatever they want. A carte blanche for that specific thread, as it were. However, they are often the first to report satire threads and the like, since they are *constantly* kissing up to the mods. I went bravely into the belly of the beast, but alone I was overwhelmed.

I would suggest nobody go POST there just now, but rather, just go see what the thread is like, and remember. For future...attention. If you want to see the tribulations of Our Hero, go to pages 7014-7017, and see me brought low by the moddist "oppression," as they like to call it. Very, very juvenile. But I say again, nobody do anything. I don't care to commit our forced too thinly.

I feel like Hitler after the Beer Hall Putsch. Too ambitious too soon into the game. wink So I made a tactical withdrawal. Oh well. Now we bide.

PS- No, I do not think Hitler was an "okay guy" or anything, and it makes me sad that I have to qualify this. gonk

Click on the link he has provided and have thine eyes besieged by horrors. We must fight this hitherto unseen foe to the death. As has Xarn suggested, I much suggest that no one strike quite yet, but rather wait until all our forces might be mustered. The combined forces of our Reading Rainbow guild, the Gloriously Fascist Regime of Ubiqstan, and my forthcoming extending of my family to the ED (via the ED-mafia) will overwhelm these cowardly rabblerousers with our superior wit, lack of suck-uptude, and overall ability to actually enjoy ourselves. Our greatest weapon will prove to be our ability to disconnect Gaia from the real world, seeing how trivial it can truly be.

We will fight for equality and once achieved we will throw aside our ideals of equality and enslave these humourless bastards. Death to the enemy!

Once again, however, I do beseech thee that thou might not be overwhelmed, do not act alone. We shall carry out an organized strike so as to shame the Bush administration into doing the same all the while truly achieving our goal.

Also, as a mod on other, comparable sites I cannot imagine how the Mods could actually take to these bastards.

Let our call to arms resound from hither and yon! From the depths of the chatterbox to the peaks of ED shall the people rise to our cause.

That being said, I hereby cross-post what I have said on the subject in the Gay Thread(tm) to get your collective juices flowing.

I think we need to organize everyone we can on this one. A flame war indeed is in order, and I well plan at being at the helm. This is going into the Reading Rainbow Guild, fun we are to have, yessssss.

The Ubiqistani Glorious Mustered Soldiery will gladly be at the vanguard of such a conflict. But leave us utilize discretion, Good Don. Let us coerce them into making a mistake first, a mistake we will be emminently prepared to capitalize on. We will select the ground most favorable to us, and when we do something, it will be more than a flame war. I propose that that thread is an INSULT to every person who has had a well-written topic deleted from ED. "Special Permission" is no excuse; that thread is NOT appropriate for Extended Discussion, subforum or no. It would be a small thing to convince the moderators of this. It was, in fact, Noraboo who granted them this boon, and I happen to know that she is neither petty nor a**-tarded. She is reasonable, and would not be so proud as to deny that it was a mistake if it could be shown beyond a shadow of a doubt. Which would be easy, since the thread is a disgusting chat-thread bloated with rabble-pus, sitting squarely on the chin of the ED. Let us retire to the guild and do EVIL PLOTTING.

There's nothing we can do.

Satire is now officially against the rules in ED (Thanks to that sticky). This is because most of the world is pro-stupidity, and we need to cater to those who just wouldn't get it. These people are expressing the opinion of being anti-satire, and they're allowed to do that by the Gaia rules. No one is going to listen to us if we complain or act otherwise. crying

They are welcome to be anti-satire. They are welcome to report me and get my (awesome) thread removed. However, I cannot abide hypocrisy, and their "thread" is a HUGE violation of ED rules. So it should be moved just like Don's and mine were, or else the mods must admit they make different rules for people they like more.

Honestly, I think everyone knew that the mods take favorites. They're human, it's something we tend to do. An unfortunate result of the fact that we haven't created computers smart enough to make judgement yet(Although I think I'd be really really upset if we did make computers smart enough to do that, because RoboJudge and RoboJury 9000 scare me, and the number of people in jail would probably triple...of course we can't forget RoboCop)(I had to say it...)

I do note that there is a startling amount of a**-kissers on Gaia. The Mods, being human, soak it in an reward their minions hansomely. Bloody wannabes...

We can keep giving the ED Satire and see how they take it, even if our threads are deleted. They can't stop us altogether, but they can cripple us. But therein lies the problem: how can we protest without using threads? That tactic is too easily manipulated.

I think the tactic we are considering now is to force the mods to enforce the rules equally by making it loudly and publically apparent that there are two sets of standards. Hopefully this will eventually cause such dissatisfaction that the pendulum swings back the other way, and we are given more latitude with our satires.

To strike before we are ready will surely doom our cause.

Once we are all gathered I say we first invade their thread. While this is underway I shall compose a piece bashing the treatment they receive, posting it both in the Extended Q & F and the main ED page.

While this is underway I will continue pursuing my attack on Dakai's thread also. But more importantly we must rally people to our cause.

Yes. It is in numbers that our greatest chance lies. We'll make some friends. ^_^

Rather than telling them that they are morons, wouldn't it be more effective to get them to agree with us? Bashing them would only make them hate us and fight on the mods' army. With them on our side, we have the advantage of infilterating their inner circles. Let's not ruin our chances to attack from the inside out.

It shouldn't be that hard. All we have to do is draw them as the victims and point out the mods' sins. For example,

arrow "How is it that they can demote our threads, ban us from the site, and steal our words all at the same time?" We can use the lack of copyright against them; some arguements we don't even have to invent.

arrow "Our freedom to express ourselves in our individualistic way has been banned simply because other people cannot understand it? Further, why is it that our efforts to educate them have further been impeded?" Everyone with a spine has some sort of self-rightiousness implanted in them. If we can manipulate that, we can convince them of anything.

Continued, etc.

Edit: After looking into the resources provided on this page alone, I see that there is little we can do to sway the extemists. A 10 Commandments instated by Gaian phebians who claim it to have come from the mods themselves? I had no idea such people would go that far just for a group of people they've never met. It seemed like a sick joke at first, but I see now just how serious they are. But then, there's one group on every website of this nature I've been on.

For this working on the Church, nevermind. We could use it on anyone else.

Hmmm, methinks our recruiting methods must be redoubled. Mayhaps my cult/mod status on other fora may come in handy here.
