I decided to open this thread to continue a chat at another thread. I figured the first subject to be discussed could be the differences between "Ecchi" and "Hentai". I want to quote what I said at another thread just to get things started: hypno You know SoraMee, I had no idea about the whole "Ecchi" thing. Who knew!? Thanks for the info. I think anime shows like Ranma 1/2 is an example of that, isn't it? neutral Ha-ha! Good one Koemiko! So, no Naruto hentai for you eh, K? mrgreen Hmm, I had no idea that there was someone out there doing original stuff about that. I guess I haven't browsed the internet much... Anyone cares to add anything to this? neutral

I don't, but since this is an anime thread, I'll take the liberty of adding a new subject. Not to replace, but to give an alternative, and MAYBE get the ball rolling (though it probably won't help).
SO my question to all of you out there reading is: What is one of the saddest moments from an anime you've seen?
For me 2 recent but still memorable moments were the end of episode 8 in Claymore and the end of episode... Also 8 in Gurren Lagann. Damn those bastards tricking you with the intros... And even though it's not meant to be sad necessarily the end of the escaflowne movie never fails to depress me for at least a few hours.

Gee Shi, I don't know what to tell ya. I can't remember me seeing a moment in anime that was so sad that it had me crying, nope! And since I haven't seen any of the anime you mentioned, well... rolleyes I suppose I've seen some sad moments in an anime but I can't recall many. Oh wait, the death of Sayo in Sanosuke's arms on Rurouni Kenshin was one! 3nodding

You don't have to literally cry. I haven't cried actual tears in forever, I just mean moments that are touching. That's a good one though. And if you can get the chance you should watch those shows. Hmmm, I guess the guild is as active as ever huh? sweatdrop Not that I'm one to talk at all ninja

I see... in that case I'm gonna have to take a few moments to remember the saddest moments I've seen. I doubt I've seen many cuz I can't recall any right about now... Guild is active? Hmm, hardly... Jin says there's hardly anything to talk about and he might be right. mrgreen

I'd say the day I rented Clamp's X on VHS, I cried on the inside....for having wasted my parent's money and my sweet time. rofl Basically this is it a nutshell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu7PxhwDGqwFrom what I remember, some dude there has to fight some people, gets a bunch of partners, alot of them die, and I didnt get to finish it, got bored out of my a** like about half way through so I did the honorable thing, turned it off and go play some Genesis rofl

Very true! And I would play genesis games but I absolutely HATE emulators on computers. Why? Cuz the computers I've had always freeze up on me and I can't play well.

I love CLAMP, but X (I am assuming the Movie you're talking about) was too short. The TV series is a little better, but I think X should have been a series of OVAs (imo). The manga it's based on isn't even finished... Your summary isn't half-bad. I could add a lot more detail, but I've never seen the Movie. Was it at least pretty to look at?
(Hey Jinzouki, you going for the K-dash look?)

My God! I have absolutely no idea what you both are chatting about. That CLAMP sounds like a pokemon attack move if you ask me but, nobody is asking me, huh? He-he I'm also lost on the K-dash thing. neutral I'm such an ignoramous... emo

Kenshin Belmont My God! I have absolutely no idea what you both are chatting about. That CLAMP sounds like a pokemon attack move if you ask me but, nobody is asking me, huh? He-he Huh? Pokemon attack move? You mean "clamp", like Cloyster does? They're a group of four female manga artists. Made series like RG Veda, Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. Those are their most popular.Kenshin Belmont I'm also lost on the K-dash thing. neutral K' (pronounced 'K-dash') is from The King of Fighters series.

Ha-ha! Yeah, that's the one all right! lol Gee, I had no idea that the group you mentioned was responsible for any kind of anime. I've only seen that Sakura card captors one cuz I liked some of the cards and it kept me a bit interested.
Oh! No wonder I didn't recognize it. I've never played a single KoF game in my life. Sad huh? cry I wonder if there's a Capcom vs SNK kind of a game on the DS...

hypnocrown Gee, I had no idea that the group you mentioned was responsible for any kind of anime. I've only seen that Sakura card captors one cuz I liked some of the cards and it kept me a bit interested. Actually, CLAMP are manga artists. They don't make anime, persay.hypnocrown Oh! No wonder I didn't recognize it. I've never played a single KoF game in my life. Sad huh? cry KoF isn't as popular b/c SNK kept a lot of it on their Neo-Geo systems. The first KoF I played was at the arcade, unless you want to count "Capcom vs. SNK Pro" for the PlayStation.hypnocrown I wonder if there's a Capcom vs SNK kind of a game on the DS... There's "SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS". It's a continuation of the Card Fighters series. Some of the NA copies have an unavoidable bug where you can't *Continue when you challenge a character. I have one of those copies, and it totally sucks. The game isn't great, but if you want to play cards, then this may be your only chance.

So just artists, eh? Yeah, that's pretty much the idea I had...
That's right, I have heard about KoF being mostly on the arcades and i even read an article about it on Club Nintendo. They have a section for "arcades" now. 3nodding
Well, I gotta tell ya, I downloaded the ROM of card fighters but I hated it. The card battle system seemed too complex and it's just not worth my time to learn a new card thing if it isn't easy to learn. I already got my hands full trying to learn about Yu-gi-oh! I downloaded to ROM to that one to help out a friend who has the actual game card and needs more cards. mrgreen
