I hope all of us have a wonderful Christmas with friends and family! Presents aren't as important as the company of our loved ones, and of course all those good smells coming from the kitchen. biggrin
A little early, but wanted to be sure not to forget. My wishes are for good health for all of us. heart heart heart

Oooh, love the yellow scarf today, Robynn (darn did I spell that right, I know it's right in your signature, but I can't see signatures from this box xp ) Does anyone call you Roby? I love to shorten names. I could have even offended someone by doing so at some point. Some people hate their name to be shortened, you know? xp
It'll probably be just me and Kevin for Christmas day. We're not religious, but he likes to stay home and have a special meal. xp Not sure when I'm going to see my parents. It'll depend on weather and when we're closing on the house I suppose. My father said he'd be surprised if we got in there before March, but my friend said the bank told him we might be able to close before the end of the year, so we'll see.

I have my fingers crossed for a fast closing! Thank you on the scarf. It's a Hermes Moon. That thing has SO many choices on what to do with it. I found it in the marketplace. And yes, I've been called Rob since I was a teen. My ex-husband (divorced 16 years) is Robert, so we were "the Robs" back in the day. A few of the people at work call me Rob today. I don't mind it at all.

Oh, Hermes Moon. You're right, that thing has a lot of phases. I've been wanting one for a while. Then whenever I save up the money, something else comes out, and I buy it instead. xp I should buy one before too long in case they keep going up in price though. eek
Robert and Rob. That's funny, I was just watching the older Willy Wonk today. It had been a while since I had seen it. I didn't remember it as well as I had thought. But all the people have names like that. The grandparents were Joseph and Josephine, then George and Georgina I think. Then there was a girl with Henry and Henrietta for parents.

Merry Christmas all. We are in the midst of quite a blizzard here in Michigan. Socked in tight and baking pies! Thank goodness the farrier came yesterday - he loves our new boy Tank the Haflinger, but Lulu the mustang was a naughty girl. Stang will know the references - for everyone else we are horsie people and my babies got their pedicures yesterday. The donkey even behaved! So I hope everyone has a great Holiday and a fantastic new year!

He was a bit better with people. smile Hope the "kids" aren't too cold in the snow. I saw the weather report for back there, and it ain't purty. Stay warm!

My farrier is a wonderful guy. He is a BLM agent so he is good with the wild ones. He took an extra half hour with my mustang because she was being big time naughty. She actually kicked at him - which is a first for her - hopefully a last. He hissed at her and kicked her back - not even a real kick - but she got the idea and was an angel after. We are having another blizzard today - wind chills below 0 F. My ponies are outside not in their shelter. I guess the scary mountain lion must be in the cave. They are tough critters. We'll throw some extra hay and check their water and we will be colder than they are! I was going to go shopping today - but I guess it is just a sit around the fire kind of day because I can't even get out of my driveway. So Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !
Gee, I haven't been checking this thread! Nice to see your post, Harm, hope you got your latkes! (That's the right word, yes? I love them with sour cream and/or apple sauce.)
I guess one of us used to be a cow... well, I was too, and had fun trying to see what would equip with it. Toadstools. hahahaha
Daemon, it was probably just pre-holiday nerves. Mustangs are very sensitive to the auras of their humans. And evidently farriers. Good luck with the blizzard! We were blessed with a warm Christmas eve and day... Didn't even need to build a fire. Ahhh.
Well, I guess I'll gather up the gift bags, all but the one Jack's currently napping in.
And if I eat any more turkey, I'll be dropping offzzzzzzzzzzzz

Merry Merry. I am just trying to digest. As usual I WAY overate and feel sick now! I will say I cooked a fantastic meal today - even got 2 marriage proposals - my husband laughed. Our house is the bachelor hangout on holidays. My 16 year old daughter calls them her 'drunkels' (drunk uncles). I love having people over and since they are not actually family it is quite enjoyable. Well, I'm going to try and walk off some of this food, or just sit here in front of the woodstove and nap!

OK, guys... here's the traditional "what did you get for Christmas" question. You don't have to list everything, hell you don't have to answer at all. It's fun to exchange notes though.
Here are my favorite gifts:
Two warm, pastel sweatshirts. (I live in sweats in the winter.)
A nice little space heater that when the weather isn't toooo cold, will do me fine in the evenings. Powerful little bugger.
A set of those plastic storage bins... My back bedroom gets no heat in winter, and the damn mice make nests (and bathrooms) out of my clothes in the dresser. THIS should solve that.
A box of boardwalk fudge, including spice drops, lemon drops and the thickest chocolate coated malted milk balls I've ever had. They were gone before the fudge!
A giant log to burn in the wood stove that loosens and causes to flake off the creosote that builds up. A marvelous safety thing, and of all the creosote managers, this one is the best.
And best of all, Greg (farm resident and sharpshooter for varmints) brought me another of his homemade turkey dinners, with all the trimmings. Yum, still eating it. (I have no oven, just a toaster oven.)
Nice addition... had my pre-surgery x-ray and mammogram today (Friday) and I was in a panic to be sure and get the actual films to take to Dr. Finder Tuesday. Turns out since my last tests, they got new equipment and it is digital... they can just send them over to him instantly. Yes! I got a peek at the mammograms, and there is definitely a shrinkage in the tumor. biggrin

Wow, good to hear about your shrinkage!
Kevin and I didn't get gifts for each other in an effort to save money. I was going to make him dinner, and he was going to watch a movie I picked out.
Our plan was to go to the store Monday or Tuesday and buy stuff to make Kevin's favorite meal for Christmas day. Well, we ended up getting snowed in. So he had to eat stuff we had around the house. He had stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and canned cranberry. Then I cooked him some chicken breast. He added hot seasoning, ranch dressing, pasta sauce, and half a jar of hot peppers to make a sauce for it. Ew. He liked it though. I don't eat meat, so I didn't try it. I had rice and bean dip with tortilla chips.
Then we watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Then we watched Disney's Tarzan.
My grandmother sent us a Walmart gift card in the mail. Kevin's father sent him a Walmart card too. And Kevin's mother gave him $100 cash. I haven't seen my parents yet, so I didn't do gifts with them. Knowing my father, it'll be a Walmart gift card. xp My mother is one of the few people who buys actual things for us, so I have no idea what we'll be getting from her.

Hooray for shrinkage and gift cards.
It was a really skinny Christmas here. I couldn't get anything for my girls. My friend gave me a new subscription to the LPU, since mine expired on the 22nd, and they missed me mucho on their message boards. I'm the LPU mum. lol. And she also gave me the money for the three of us girls to get our matching tattoo (next Tuesday) before Jessica runs off to university in S. Dakota. We got socks and scarves from my ex-in-laws, and spent a wonderful Christmas Eve at their house playing games and hanging out. We went back on Christmas day, just the 5 of us, playing games (mom-in-law, and sis-in-law) and hanging out some more. We really didn't mind not having gifts. We got to spend time with people we haven't really made time for this past year. Now, I have a week off of work to sleep, give blood, and get tattoo'd. heart mrgreen
