"Dean, admit it, you're lost" Sam rolled his eyes at his brother. Dean didn't see it, being responsible watching the dark road winding ahead of the speeding Impala.
"I'm lost? You're the one with the map!"
"And I told you to take that turn off, two miles back!"
"And I told you, that this has to be a short cut!" Dean argued. Why be hard to get along with, when with a little effort you can be impossible?
"What's that sign say up ahead?" Sam asked, squinting in the dark. "Welcome to Sunnydale" Dean replied.
"Sunnydale? That's not even on the map!"
"I've heard of it before, haven't I?" Dean asked, double checking his memory with his brother.
"Something familiar in the name," Sam admitted, "do you think we passed through here already?"
"A town named "Sunnydale" I would remember, it sounds too optimistic!"
"Hummm" Sam agreed.
The two brothers found that the road that they were on travelled right into the centre of town. They were cruising by the town's central graveyard, each giving the other 'a look' that said they both thought this graveyard was much too large for such a small American town, when something suddenly jumped over the bonnet of their car.
"Dean! Watch out!" Sam shouted. Dean had already come to a sharp and sudden stop.
"I didn't see it. I couldn't have hurt it that much, it's sprinting into that graveyard!" Suddenly their bonnet buckled again as another figure lept across it.
"Is it too much to run around the car?" Sam asked.
"Was that Barbie?" Dean asked.
"What?"
"I swear, I just saw Barbie, chase what-ever-the-hell the first guy was"
"Barbie?"
"Blonde and skinny!" Dean argued. Feeling certain that he saw what he saw.
"Well, let's check it out, I can't see how that graveyard can be safe for anyone."
Leaving the car as it was (because no one really likes to park their car in this strang land) the two brothers ran into the graveyard, looking for someone who might be hurt, and Barbie. They didn't have to go far when the sounds of hand to hand martial art combat could be heard in the still night. The brothers came across a vampire and the blonde. Without hesitating a second, both boys were into the fight!
"Hey guys, I appreciate the help, but really, this isn't your fight!" The blonde argued.
"Don't worry ma'am we know what we're dealing with" Sam yells back at her, just as Dean groaned and hit the ground after being hit by a smooth taekwondo kick to the chest. In a heartbeat, the blonde girl had stepped back into the fight.
"Yeah! well! I know what I'm dealing with too!" She countered a punch, moved out of the way for a kick and in a blink of an eye, dust floated on the breeze in the space where the vampire once was. The blonde breathed a sigh of a job well done, twirling her wooden stake like a gunslinger would spin his six shooter in the ol' west.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Sam asked her. She looked over at him with a 'what-the?' look on her face.
"Am I okay? Did you not just see how I just dusted that 70's flashback?"
"70's flashback?" Sam echoed.
"I'm okay, don't all ask at once how hurt I am, because I'm not!" Dean groaned, getting up to his feet. "And don't thank us all at once, for coming to help you" he added to the blonde.
"Oh yeah! Thank you, for all YOUR help!" The blonde replied sarcastically. "In fact, may I please ask if you two strong, handsome guys help me so much less than you've helped me tonight?"
"Hey! Barbie! You won't believe us, but that thing you got a lucky stab at was a vampire!" Dean exploded. He didn't like feeling that he had been the damsel that needed rescuing.
"Barbie! Who are you calling Barbie? My name is Buffy!"
There was an awkward silence at the revelation of her name.
"And I know it was a vampire! I happen to hunt these things!" Buffy defended herself. She might not have a warrior's name, but she had the warrior's calling.
"You're a Hunter?" Sam asked for clarification. "Do you hunt alone?"
"No, I mean, sometimes I have the scooby gang helping... giving REAL help."
Again, there was an awkward silence between the brothers. Both of them thinking... did she just say 'scooby gang'?
"They're my friends" Buffy added, to break the silence and explain the inside definition of what a scooby gang was.
"How many Hunters are in this town?" Dean asked.
"Well, I'm kind of the only real one. And I don't normally call myself a 'hunter', becasue I'm "The Slayer". My friends help out by hitting the books for me."
"You're a 'slayer'?" Sam asked.
"THE slayer... you know what a vampire is, how do you not know who I am?"
"And who are you in connection to vampires? If you're not a real Hunter, how did you even discover that there are vampires in the world to hunt?"
"To every generation, one of us is born, THE slayer, to SLAY vampires... and other demonic uncool henchmen that like to run about after dark!"
"Really?" Sam asked. Dean just laughed.
"Really! Now it's your turn" Buffy replied sternly.
"Our turn?" Dean echoed after her.
"Who are you in connection to vampires? Because you're not real Slayers, how do you know there are vampires to slay?"
"We're Hunters. PROFESSIONALS. We've been doing this as a sort of family business all our lives! And not just vampires, but ghosts, werewolves and other creatures YOU only wish didn't exist" Sam explained, obviously proud.
"Tell me about it" Buffy rolled her eyes.
"You have experiences with these kind of creatures?" Sam asked, for clarification; this conversation was weird.
"Creatures? I have experiences with Demons!"
"Really, what kind of incantations do you use to send them back to Hell?" Sam asked, testing her because he didn't quite believe it.
"I don't usually 'incant', I like the trusty wooden stake, or a really good axe." The brothers hesitated at her answer, it wasn't an answer they were ready to hear.
"And how do you kill the werewolves or ghosts?"
"I don't kill werewolves, we keep Oz locked up in the school library of the night. And ghosts, well, I've found that there's usually a logical explanation behind them... like they're really an invisible girl or something" Buffy replied, remembering some close-shave adventures. "And you, how do you deal with them?"
"We like our incantations" Dean summed it up for her.
Now... someone else add a chapter! Anything goes, just make the story continue on from this conversation!
