((Started via AIM, continued here.))
Alegria had found himself outside his owners house once again- something he planned ever so often just to get away. His owner was amazing. But sometimes he felt embaresed if he couldn't preform his tricks for her. So with one eye on the path behind him and an ear to the front he padded towards the park with a mouthful of juggling bats. Just the journey alone was going to be tricky. The bats themselfs nearly being as large as his mouth each. He beamed though to himself as he saw the park come into sight. Pratice makes perfect. He again struggled to hold all his toys in his mouth.
The park was a place that Dana O'Sidh often found herself wandering to in search of her owner. A recently abandoned dog, she was not stupid. She knew the man had left her and ran for a reason. It wasn't selfish, what he did. She wouldn't have survived with him. But she still found herself following the same old steps, looking for him in the park, checking where the old bar they owned together used to be... The bar had gone under, and she'd been left to fend for herself. Not hat she wasn't capable. But that was completely off topic. Dana padded into the park, careful to keep away from groups of people larger then one or two. She hadn't been beaten, but she found herself beginning to distrust the humans she had once loved and coddled.
He had finally reached the tree he had been looking for and dropped his toys at his paws; dripping in whatelse but drool. It wasn't his fault but it wasn't like he could suck the salavia back into his mouth. He shook his head at them 'disgusting' he muttered once to himself and went off to clean them. An Actor needed to be prepared for everything! When he finally finished making the bats look as clean as they had ever been he set to throwing one in the air- catching it with his mouth; then repeating it till all three bats were in the air and he was juggling them. He didn't even notice the pretty female that seamed to have been wandering around lost. His only thought was on prefecting the trick higher and higer till his owner made him the star of her little circus. But the hight was short lived as he caught only the tinest glimpse of the red and black female. He smiled just long enough that each baton came crashing down on his head with a loud 'plunking' sound. "Ouch..." He mutted out feeling horribly stupid.
Dana walked on light feet, keeping her steps quick and trying to leave no trail behind her. Naturally, it wasn't possible to completely hide her trail, but damned if she wouldn't try. Her coat made her stick out like a sore thumb in the park, and wanting to be alone, this was clearly a bad thing. She turned her head to and fro, making sure she wasn't being followed, and it was during noe of these turns that she caught a glimpse of somedog juggling. Juggling? She frowned a little, watching the odd collie, and stepped towards him carefully. She froze when he smiled, and barely bit back the snicker when the batons came crashing down. "Are y'alright there?" She asked, walking towards him. Time with her owner had left her with an accent much akin to his own. She was an irishman's dog, even if he had left her to fend for herself.
He looked at her with a small snicker trying to hold back the red that wanted to beam threw his cheaks with embassement. Not only was she cute- but the fact that he had failed juggling because he had gotten distracted was another thing. What happened if he got distracted during a REAL show. He thought back towards the pins landing on his head. Nobody would want to see him again EVER if he had done that. But that aside he wasn't going to get any more practicing done today- his head hurt too much. So he smiled and nodded. "I'm alight miss...Just a bump on the head...happens all the time." Then he pointed to his large purple hat. "It takes some of the damage." Though it had become apparent that he couldn't stop himself from blushing. "I'm Alegria." He bowed with a slight formality sweaping the pins together with his back paw. "And if you don't mind me asking. What might your name be?"
She nodded a little, eying the batons, and snorted a little. "Dana O'Sidh." She answered quietly, walking towards him and sitting down. She eyed the hat, lifting one brow slowly, and perked her ears up. She was curious. "That's a right silly thing t'be wearin', that hat." She nodded to it. "What's it for?" Dana looked from the hat to Alegria's face, taking the dog in now that she'd gotten over his accident and costume. He was an attractive collie, bright coat and pattern. A curious thing to behold, but in this city, bright coats and patterns were obviously to be expected.
"Well my hat..." He raised an eyeward as if complusivly looking it over. "I'm a show dog- well I don't do those frilly sort of shows...but I mean SHOW dog." He looked at her proudly. "My owner owns a circus...a small one...but she promised when I was good enough she'd let me be the opening act. My juggling is OKIE but not good enough to be the star." He continued to babble on about it almost as if he wasn't paying attention. Then stopped and noticed Dana. "I'm sorry the thought gets me so excited!" He then rubbed his hat with a free paw as if his thoughts made his bumps hurt again. "Maybe you and your owner could come to our next show."
Dana almost smiled at the babbling Alegria, leaning back a little and watching him. Excitable little dog, wasn't he? She nodded to him. "Don' worry about it, I under..." She trailed off at the mention of her owner, and snorted a little. "I don' think so. No offense, it's... not somethin' we do." They didn't do much, all things considered, but it was still too fresh a wound for Dana to talk about. She knew he wasn't coming back after the bar went bankrupt, but... She had hope in her heart that maybe she was wrong.
His head hung downward. "Ah well...if you guys want to drop by the show...you know....let me know. We always have free seats..." He kinda figured she wasn't the type of dog that liked circus. He sighed one day he would have loved to have found somebody who just wanted to watch him preform. "I'ma sorry I er upset you..." He looked her over once or twice and figured that her owner was a sour spot. Prehaps she was homeless; she did look alittle unkept. But he wasn't just going to come out there and be 'HEY do you want to move in with me...my owner'd LOVE you!' It would be rather rude on his part. And he wasn't that type of dog.
"Maybe." Dana nodded a little. "Things're... hard, righ' now, y'see." She explained, wincing a little. She hadn't meant to upset him, but stung herself, it seemed the only thing she could do. "Y'didn' upset me anymore then my situation already did, Alegria." She promised, offering a small smile. It hurt to smile, physically. She hadn't done so in a long while, her face had grown unaccustomed to the action. "What's the circus like?" It wasn't something Logan took her too. She was a bardog, born and raised, and had made little room for anything else. And she figured it was something Alegria would want to talk about.
He lifted his head abit at the encoragement figureing he had hit the nail on the head. "Well a circus is where people preform AMAZING tricks. Some walk on wires so high in the air you can barely see in. In my owners circus we have a guy who juggles firesticks...I want to do that...but I suppose if I juggle firesticks and drop them on my head that might hurt alittle bit more then just regular sticks..." He made a small attempt at a chuckle. "You'd enjoy it." He picked up a stick and lobbed it up in the air trying to make her feel better then she did.
Dana laughed a little, nodding. "Aye, it'd probably be a touch more dangerous then y'sticks there." She said, nodding to the stick he tossed into the air. "And y'owner, she owns the whole circus?" She asked, laying down in front of him and looking up quietly, tilting her head to one side.
Alegria nodded smiled then caught the stick in his mouth. He then placed it by his paw. "Yup the whole thing...I mean we aren't all that big- but we make for a nice family." He then stammered on the last word again not trying to bring up bad memories for her specially if she was homeless. "So um...you want to give it a try?" He pushed the stick towards her trying to change the topic. "It's not to hard- you just got to be good at timing...It's the other sticks that make it tricky."
She nodded a little, smirking at the way he stammered. "Y'don't need t'tread lightly with me, Alegria. I'm a big girl, I can take it." She picked up the stick, speaking around it. "I jes' toss it up, right?" She asked, sitting up with the stick in her mouth. "An' then catch it?" It seemed simple enough. Catching it would probably prove more difficult, but if she could catch a ball, a stick shouldn't be that much harder...
He nodded at her again. He just wanted to be polite. "Yup just toss it up and catch it. Be careful where it fall though..." He nodded towards his own head with a small laugh. He then picked up one of the two remaining sticks and did another demonstration. Lobbing it high into the air and catching it with his mouth. "You might not want to throw it that high...you might loose control. Try small tosses."
Dana watched him throw and catch the stick, nodding a little. "Alright." She said around the stick. She lowered her head, and lifted it quickly, tossing the stick up into the air. Instead of going straight, though, it went up and backwards. Dana scrambled after it, and ended up tripping herself, falling forward. The stick came down on her head to top it off. "Ow." She frowned a little, and got up, shaking her head. Well, that didn't go quite according to plan...
This time he was the one holding back a giggle. "Well for a first attempt that was pretty good..." Alegria went over to her to help her up. "You've got great power...if you just learn how to arch your head right you could probally throw that puppy higher then I do." He then stepped back from her nearly forgetting that she probally didn't want help getting up and that he could do it herself. He was just so used to being chilverus. "Though I think you'll be needing your own hat at this rate if you try that again...don't worry I have ones that look less goofy then mine."
Dana looked over, and laughed a little. "I hope so, lad. Don't think I have y'confidence to wear a hat like that." She admitted, getting up and picking the stick up again. If she was bothered by his attempt to help her up, she certainly didn't say or act so. If that's how he was, so be it. Of course, that was now. Dana'd probably get sick of it eventually, but for now, it was kind of nice.
He looked at her and smiled happily. Then as he saw her pick up the stick again he trod over to her and placed his hat upon her. "For safe keeping if your going to try pitching it again." He laughed, now all his bumps were quite visable on his head. "Though this time-" He went right next to her not even knowing he was moving into her personal space. He moved his maw forward and took one end of the pin and moved it ever so slighty giving her a wink. "There we go- now it shouldn't hit you in the head when it comes down."
Dana blinked when the purple hat was dropped onto her head, and laughed a little, nodding. "Thank y'kindly." She said, watching him move closer and adjust the pin. She smirked a little, nodding. "Let's try this again then, yeah?" She stepped back, concentrating, and tossed her head again, tossing the pin up. Not nearly as high as before, but it went straight up. On the way down, she snapped at it, but missed by a fraction of an inch, and the pin dropped to the ground. She grumbled a little. At least she hadn't tripped this time, though.
"Thats BRILLANT! You nearly got it there!" He seamed excited. "Though we really need to work on the color hat for you. Purple just dosn't suit you." Alegria stuck out his tounge in a hardy laugh. He then moved closer to her once again. This time without a pin. "Watch my mouth and you'll see how to catch it alittle quicker." He then pretended to throw another pin up and catch it. But on the way down as he went to 'catch' it, his lips went first then his teeth. "If you aim with your teeth you'll have no angle if it comes down the wrong way. This way you grab it with your lips secure it THEN bite down." He beamed then picked up the disgaurded pin on the ground and handed it to her.
She watched his mouth closely, nodding a little, and took the pin from him. "Alright." She said, stepping back again. She tossed it again, careful to keep it from going too high, and this time, she tried to catch it with her lips first, like he'd showed her. She caught it, and clamped down with her teeth, beaming with the pin in her mouth. She'd caught it! She was quietly pleased, which said a lot, really. Dana wasn't an emotional dog.
If he could have clapped he would have. So instead he let out a bark of joy and spun about next to her- as if he was a 'wild' dog. "Amazing!" He then looked at her "Your a natural...I didn't even learn as quickly as you did...you didn't ever do this before did you?" He winked an eye at her again still beaming that his pupil was not only brillant, but beautiful as well. "Don't recollect you want to start working on two pins?" Alegria let out a sarcastic chuckle.

Dana watched him spin around, laughing a little, and shook her head, rolling her eyes a little with a small grin. "It isn' all that hard." She said modestly, smirking at his wink and tilting her head. When he mentioned two pins, she snorted and shook her head. "Maybe another day." She said, stretching out and then flopping down in front of him.
"Bet it was beginner's luck, anyway." She smirked again, arching an eyebrow. "By the looks of you, it's not somethin' a dog should be able to pick up on the first or third try." Dana grinned a little.

He let out another chuckle. "I've been working on three pins for a long time. But you still started out better then I did." He nosed another pin at her paws. "Well we'll see if it's beginners luck. Can't promise these won't come down on your head...but thats why I gave you my hat- at least it will sting less." He sat on his bum and watched her intently. "It's really all about timing." He nodded. "Once you get a rythem you could probally take on more then just the three I have. I've seen some people with several pins...maybe you could beat them?" He gave another wink and a short chuckle.

Dana laughed, eying the pin, and nudged it back towards him. "I don't think I could beat any records." She said, shaking the hat off her head and picking it up in her mouth. She rose and walked over to him, dropping it on his head with a smirk. "I'm not a show dog, after all."
No, not a show dog. Just a stray. For a brief second, she looked distant, but she shook it off and stepped away from Alegria again, sitting down. "That's more your thing then mine." She said, smirking again lightly. It was the closest to smiling she'd get, she'd used up her smile reserve for today.

He looked up to his hat now resting up on his head and back to her. His smile was beaming from ear to ear. "Well if you ever do want to beat some records...or get a funny hat- we could definatly raid my owners garage. She keeps LOADS of nifty toys in there to play with. I'm sure even some that a dog that not into shows would like. Some pretty show collers for a pretty lass like you. I could ya know steal something like that if you wanted some." He nodded noting her small smile. He'd never even thought of stealing from his owner till now. He'd always been one of those 'good' dogs. But for such a pretty lady- and a lass he'd completly fallen over his paws for...well he'd do anything for her.

Dana blinked, and snorted a little under her breath. Don't think for a moment, mind, that she didn't consider it. Even if she never wore it, she could trade it for food. Or use it to pass off as a pet and avoid getting caught by the dog catcher... But she knew better. She was brought up better then that.
"No, Ale." She smiled a little, just barely more then a smirk, and shook her head. "Y'should never betray y'human in such a manner. They're precious things, humans." Precious and temporary. She would never steal from her human, she couldn't dare encourage another dog to do the same.

He wanted to look at her and say "...but your so special to me..." But Alegria could see where she was going. And she was probally right about it too. His human was so kind and loving. He couldn't take anything from her...but oh how much he wanted to lavish Dana in the sparkily gift that lofted his garage. He wanted to pamper her for all she was worth and devote his entire life to her- but that was Alegria; he was a lover. Pationate and giving all that was his. If she had asked he would have given her the moon. He sighed inwardly but she wasn't asking for the moon. He really wished she would.

Dana wasn't a lover, nor passionate. She was reserved and careful, especially with Alegria. He seemed like a sweet dog, but Dana didn't want to fall for a sweet dog. She didn't want to fall for any dog, not really. He was charming, though, and that made things a little difficult. Dana wanted to take care of herself with no help from anyone, it was the type of dog she knew would survive. Alegria certainly wasn't making it easy for her to keep that train of thought, though. She turned her head towards a few humans playing with their dogs. "Humans are the most fickle companions to a dog." She said quietly, snorting a little. "But they have to be forgiven and shown the right way." She said, smirking over at Alegria. "Stealing from your human wouldn't be teaching her what's right, after all." And clearly humans had a lot to learn from dogs.

"I always thought humans taught us. I never thought about it like that." He cocked his head and looked at her strangely. "I'm sure she wouldn't start stealing if I did. That would be strange to watch." He chuckled, "But then again they are only human I wouldn't be surprised if ANOTHER human watched his dog and learned from them. My human...nah she's pretty much her own person. Thats why I love her. I really want you to meet her one of these days. I'm sure she's love you as much as I-" He then stopped and blushed turning his head away from her.
"We should..." He caughed once or twice. "Work on that juggling thing..." He coughed even louder. "Again..." *Cough Cough*

Dana o'Sidh smiled a little, shaking her head. "My mamai, she taught me that we were responsible for our humans. That, while they adopted us... We were chosen to watch them, like pups." She said, smiling a little. "They might think they're their own people, that they're watchin' us, but who keeps them safe, aye?" She watched him, and her ears flattened when he stopped himself, watching him. "Mayhaps one day I'll meet that human'a yours." Dana said after a minute, shaking her head a little.
"I think we should save that for another day." She mused, rising and tilting her head. "I should find my friend before it gets too late. And food." But that really was an after thought. Food could always be found in garbage cans if need be.

"Well I could help you with the food...not a problem there- but I'd have to introduce you to my human." He nodded at her. "As you said- don't want to rush those things. So maybe we could just you know...meet up at the park again- I mean your like the first one to be you know- interested in..." He stammered abit trying not to say 'me'. "Pins."
"Yes Pins..." He turned his head to the side again so she wouldn't see his orange cheaks. "But you know I'm always here practicing. So you can find me anytime you want to." He still never turned his head back to her.

Dana nodded a little, and smiled. "I'm capable of finding food for myself, Alegria. Don't you worry about me, aye?" She rose and walked over to him, butting her head against his lightly. "I will certainly come looking for you again. Soon." She promised, stepping back. "We can practice juggling more with those pins." She smirked a little, stepping back again. "I'll see you around, Ale." She said, turning and starting to walk away.
