for me anyway ^^ but you're all welcome to be excited with me biggrin
i finally got my circle name! YAY!!!
i asked the goddess for my name because i was having a seriously hard time finding one for myself and two days later one of my "mother-figure" friends said that if i was her daughter she would name me ______ because that's what i looked like and i absolutely loved it. it isn't a strange or spectacular name, but it is very earthy, the name of a plant actually, and i just love it! it was such an unexpected statement and as soon as she said it i know my face lit up like a christmas tree
sorry i put a blank, but i was told that i'm not supposed to tell my circle name to anyone, do you all feel the same about your names? i've never actually been a part of a circle and don't really have plans to find one, i enjoy being solitary ^^ i was just wondering if you feel that you're names should be secret or not, i'm still learning and i want to soak up everything i can 3nodding

Congrates. ^^ I myself, don't keep secrets anymore. We are all connected after all. Keeping secrets from others is like lieing to yourself. That's the way I see it atleast. To each its own. I know flower names are more common when it comes to circle names (from what I've experienced.) I still think Iris is one of the best. Anyways hope you have luck with it. May you one day experience the joys of a gathering.
Edit: O_O I was being bitchy. Sorry my bad. That whole part needs to go. That's better. Still sounds bitchy, but not as mega b***h. ^^
In the future just smack me if I get this way. It's only a faze.

Oh! O_O No I didn't mean it that way. Oh, I'm SOOOOOO sorry.
I was trying to complement you. I love the flower/plant names. ^^ It's like the earth is naming you after something close to her. Plants are the core of the plantest nessesities after all.
I was given a goddess name in my first try. I don't want a goddess name for myself. Blah. I'm not worth of one. Nor do I find them warming or comforting.
I will search for my own name this time. No one will help me. I think that has been my problem.

I haven't really looked for one, myself. I'm more of a solitary witch, and sometimes using another name for myself just doesn't seem RIGHT at the time. Other times? Yeah, I feel weird that I don't have a True Name instead of my Given Name. >.>
But! I'm rambling. This thread is about you and the question you asked!
The way I see it, you are allowed to share your name with anyone you want. If you'd like to keep it between yourself and your God/Goddess, that's wonderful. If you'd like to share it with close friends and family, that's awesome, too. If you want to tell the world that your name is _______ and you're proud of it, kudos! That's the beauty of free will. ^.^ And if some old-timer gets on your case about sharing your name with someone outside of your coven ("In MY day, a Witch kept her True Name to herself!"), blow a big fat raspberry at him/her and go your own way.
