Character Name: Alma Thompsmith

What they are wearing: She's wearing a corset top and a long, flowy, black skirt. Alma put in extremely temporary (maybe a week?) black dye to hide her highlights. A red forehead jewel and red ribbon on her arm are color accents so she isn't completely black. The arm warmers, choker, and skull earrings are also accents that show her rebel side. Under that skirt, she is wearing her goth boots, but they're most likely not going to seen. Alma may appear to be wearing contacts (since no glasses) but really, she's using her powers to give her good eyesight.
Why they are wearing it: Alma's only a sophomore and most likely went stag. She doesn't like being traditional when it comes to dressing up. She truly believes you can look good, sophisticated and yet not look the same as everyone else. Maybe her junior or senior year she'll dress like a normal person, but she wanted to be different this time.

Character Name: Matt Anderson

What they are wearing: Matt is wearing a traditional long sleeved black shirt underneath a ripoff of an elegant vest that he picked up from a Goodwill. To keep with the theme of black he choose to wear black dress pants and some dress shoes he had lying around.
Why they are wearing it: Matt had a tough time deciding what to wear to prom. Matt wanted to look good without sticking out too much so he decided to go with the black as his main color. But pure black tends to get boring so Matt went with a vest with a hint of gold. Money was a huge factor as Matt does not have much too spend thus all the clothes he is using were very cheap.
In addition to money Matt's self image is reflected in his outfit. If it were a smaller dance then Matt would have worn something very casual but with this being prom he felt that he should wear something nicer. So Matt went the middle route going for a nice look but keeping it cheap.

What she's wearing: Tehra is wearing a white and gold corset style strapless bodice, showing off her toned shoulders. Tehra's skirt is a flowing white number that is short in the front and flows in a pretty train in the back. She has white ribbons in her pink hair, hair she wore down because Tehra never wears it up. She is wearing a drop necklace to accent the dress and a simple silver bracelet to offset the glamour of the rest of the outfit. Tehra's shoes are golden lace up flats to complete the fairytale look.
Why she's wearing it: Tehra loves to be elegant and classy with a bit of a unique touch. She wears clothes to accent the toned body she has developed due to her nighttime crusades, but she won't dress down right skimpy. Even though Tehra keeps the Guardian a closely guarded secret, and is a private person, shes not about to wear 'just another department store dress' to prom. Tehra likes to be quietly noticed, not in a braggy way, but more of a 'wow she looks pretty and approachable. The color of the dress, white had a huge say in her choosing it. Tehra was now a fallen angel, traditonally dark and evil. But her personality was so far from it. She was a guardian to the people first and formost, a good entity, not evil. So she chose the traditionally 'good' color of white to wear to the biggest night of the year. Tehra had to wear black every other night, and for at least one, she would wear the color she truly represented.

Character Name: Lindsay Morris

What they are wearing: Lindsay is wearing a rather simple long white dress with some ruffles at the front. To make the dress stand out, she is also wearing silk gloves (held up by two gold armlets with flared out fabric attached for more flair), a white half-cape that trails behind her with two long sections of the cape which end in fake, feathered angel wings, hooked in front with a clasp that looks like a necklace with a sun pendant on it. She also found a nearly-matching pin at a thrift store that she used to pin the stole that came with the dress up so that she could use it as a belt. She tied her hair back in a loose but fashionable ponytail and added a small silver-and-gold tiara so that her hair did not look unaccessorized. She is wearing short white silk heels with a few gold sequins on them. To tie the look together, Lindsay is wearing simple pearl earrings.
Why they are wearing it: Originally, for the sake of wit, Lindsay had the idea to do a prom outfit based on thunderstorms, but as she was shopping, Lindsay had a feeling that there were going to be a lot of either dark or brightly-colored outfits at the prom, so she felt like taking a chance, being different, and seeing if she could make something plain and white stand out after she found a nice white dress that she could not pass up buying. She soon made it her project to search everywhere to find all of the necessary accessories to bring her idea to life. After finding a short cape with two long trains that ended in feathered angel wings and hooked at the shoulders and neck with a clasp that looked like a necklace with a golden sun on it, she realized that gold was the perfect accent color. She soon found nice white satin 1' heels which she sewed several gold sequins onto, a matching tiara, and silk gloves, did final touches, pinned the stole on as a belt with a matching solar pin, and loved the look. It wasn't quite the stormy look she was planning, but it was still celestial in theme and she wanted to roll with it.

What they are wearing: Josh is wearing a powder blue tuxedo. Yeap, you read that right. I know you're jealous.
Why they are wearing it: In game, because he's borrowing it from his father. Prom was a bit of a last minute call for Josh, so he had to take whatever he could take. Out of game, however, Josh is wearing this particular outfit because it's what my father wore to his prom. There exists a picture of this, however I am not able to get my hands on it at this time.

What they are wearing: Cael is sporting midnight black pants, shoes and a shirt with golden bands on either sleeve. A crimson vest with gold trim matches his jacket. All this wrapped in a red tie and topped of with a black hat also showing gold trim.
Why they are wearing it: Cael's mother Lara owns the clothing shop Little Threads and loves to tailor clothes in her spare time. When she heard that Cael's new school would be hosting a prom, she became determined not to let her son show up in anything less than elegant attire and sewed him this outfit from scratch (whether he liked it or not).

What they are wearing: Penelope is wearing a black, flowing dress she found in her attic. The fact that it almost seems to be trying to strangle her only unnerves her a little bit. The material is highlighted with a deep purple that dances across its folds like shadows.
Why they are wearing it: Penelope's mother may or may not know she swiped this garment from their attic. In case you missed that post, Penelope and her sister aren't allowed up there. Penelope got to wondering why and snuck upstairs to have a look around. She discovered this dress and fell in love with it, taking it the dry cleaners to get rid of the dust and the strange amount of black cat hair (strange because the Greenhills have never owned such a cat).

What they are wearing: Alma is wearing a surprisingly simple black dress with small red accents as well as an uncomfortable collar that looks like a necklace. There is a short red train on the back that adds more color to the overall appearance. A small, black star pulls her highlighted hair out of her face. The arm warmers and goth boots show a little of her rebel side. Her black rose corsage is fabric and handmade but somehow pulls the outfit together.
Why they are wearing it: Alma wanted something that stood out but still was subdued. Of course, it had to match with her highlights so the accent color had to be red. She found the dress on clearance at Lukewarm Subject and couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it. Even though the collar almost straggles her, the dress looks good on her. Although she'd never admit it, when she tries, she can look nice. She made her corsage because, even though a red rose would look good, black doesn't stand out as much. Alma wanted to be able to hide in the dark corners of the room yet catch the glance of whoever walked by and saw a flash of color at the edge of their sight. If anything, Alma wanted to scare people away but cause them to admire her from afar.

What they are wearing: Chen's wearing an elegant, long, red coat with gold accents. He's wearing a half mask of similar colors that also has a few feathers on the side. Everything else is just a simple, clean black that doesn't take away from the colors but doesn't look bad either. He left his hair, skin and eyes their natural shade (no glamor) due to the fact the prom is probably going to have dimly lit areas and no one should really be able to tell.
Why they are wearing it: Chen wanted something simple yet elegant. He had the coat and mask hanging up in one of his closets from a masquerade in the past and just grabbed them out. He isn't wearing a glamor due to the fact he wanted to be himself around humans at least for one night. He mostly sneaked in using his magic.

Exhibition(ist)

I've had the prom avatars for my characters for a while, and I decided I would put in the work too (because I am bored...) So, here you have Cait&Jay, and Rowena at prom. They will be a work in progress for a little while because I am only getting internet access in bits and pieces.


Character Names: Cait Kassidy and Jay Carney

What they are wearing: Cait and Jay have made their dresses out of duct tape. The decided to go with an older style dress pattern involving corsets and poofed out skirts. They also decided to go in opposite and bright color patterns because they are living proof that opposites attract. Though they are both highly intelligent, Cait is a nerd and Jay is a big jock. Both girls are also not very girly, so going in "princess dresses" is in itself a contrast for them.

Cait is wearing a red dress with black and gold detailing. The skirt is poofed out and pulled up in the front to show off some leg. Jay's dress is yellow with black and white detailing. Both dresses have the same old-west style silhouette with the modern flair of duct tape. Both girls have their hair in up-do's so that if their dresses do start to melt their hair won't get stuck in the adhesive. Cait made a tiara out of chrome and red duct tape as an added accessory, while Jay made a large flower out of yellow and white duct tape. Both girls are wearing bodices that lace up in the back with black duct tape. Finally, they are wearing arm warmers made out of white duct tape to add a false-elegance to the look. To keep them from sweating too much, they have decided to wear black stripped tights. As far as shoes go, Jay has decided on a pair of simple yellow and white heels, while Cait has chosen a pair of beat up red chucks for comfort and contrast.

Why they are wearing it: For many many complicated reasons. Maybe it was for the attention, it was certainly a valid entry into the "Stuck at Prom" scholarship contest, maybe because they were tired of being boxed into categories by their peers and just needed to show people that they were more than that. Hell, maybe they even dressed that way to mock the "sanctity" and materialism of the prom and fly in the face of the administration who refused to support them.

Character Names: Rowena Lasairona

What they are wearing: Rowena sports a long, flowing, white dress that would rival most women's wedding gowns. In fact, she pretty much looks like a bride on this night. Her hair has been done in tight curls that roll down her back. She has a large tiara on made out of silver and decorated with rhinestones. Her necklace was presented to her by her father as a reward for her hard work in her studies, and it now lays lightly across her collar bones and drips of diamonds and silver. She wears full length white satin gloves and a silver and diamond tennis bracelet on her left wrist. Her make up is light and her skin flawless.
Why they are wearing it: Rowena has her eye on prom queen, and is determined to wow the crowds with a miraculous entry to the prom in her gown as she steps slowly out of her stretch limo. She also has a considerable amount of money from her father that allowed her to go all out with her prom get-up. After the altercation the morning of the break in, Rowena is determined to put Cait, Jay, and Penelope to shame as she arrives at the prom. Too bad she doesn't know Cait and Jay will be arriving in Duct Tape...

Character Name:Aerith Fint

What they are wearing:Aerith is dressed in a great colorful ensemble of a light pink corset top with gold beading details and a deep pink skirt. Her hair is pulled into two ringlets that frame her face, and she has a pink flower in her hair to bring the look together. Her boyfriend has also decked her out in pink roses with a corsage and a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Why they are wearing it:Aerith is one of my older characters who may or may not eventually make an appearance in Delmor at some point (certainly won't actually be attending prom as she currently lives in the city). She's a decently normal individual who fits in well most places and just wanted to go to prom looking like a princess. Noticing that everyone else seemed to be dressing up for either a wedding or a funeral, she decided to pump some actual color into her wardrobe and go in a light pink gown fitting of a true princess. It was her goal to put together an ensemble that would make her boyfriend's jaw drop. Hell, maybe she'd even have stolen prom queen from Rowena if she were young enough to attend a prom.




I'll also stash any second entries you guys would like to make here for now. If we get to prom and don't have ten entries, I'll fill the empty spaces with whoever entered their second character first. Does that sound fair?

Character Name: Mariana Ruben

What they are wearing: Mariana is decked out in a shimmering black dress that reaches down to her ankles. It's far fancier than her usual attire, so she edited the garment to suit her style. Puffy shoulders and skinny sleeves were cut from another garment and sewn in at the shoulder seam. A corset over the top of the garment cinches in the waistline and breaks the monotony of the opulent fabric. A pearl necklace lengthens the neck slightly, and skull earrings offer a glimpse into her usual attire. The bow tying her hair back is actually her favorite headband, repurposed for the occasion. She wouldn't compromise on the footwear, however--she insisted on boots.
Why they are wearing it: It all started with a man and a dream. Mr. Norbert moved to Delmor with the ambition of becoming the owner of a vast retail empire. Instead, life handed him a worn-down liquor store. Nevertheless, he was determined to make a name for himself, so he put sweat and blood into it until it became a respectable establishment. Much to the chagrin of Mariana, he had quite a bit of integrity and would not stand for minors or shoplifting as the previous owner had. So, as a condition of her bail, her parents made her agree to attend the prom. Sober. In a girl's dress. But not too much cleavage. Oh, hell, they're picking the damn dress. After a bit of negotiation, she managed to get them to concede the choice of jewelry and shoes (to their later horror). Of note are the boots--she never wore high heels, and she enjoyed the idea of "accidentally" stomping on other girls' open-toed shoes.

Go for it! Just as long as it is in the tektek style I'm fine with whatever you submit. I just didn't want people to submit amazing sketches that totally outshine a tektek. I didn't want artistic skill to have a major effect on the entries.

Pixelation should be fine though!

But I also love them. 3nodding They're like a really good blend of coffee. All the different types blended together into perfect harmony. Not to strict and not to lenient. Funny thing is, I hate coffee.
