The Dark-Hunter series, written by Sherrilyn Kenyon, is an on-going series currently at 25 stories, about men, who while they lay dying, made a pact with the goddess Artimus for one act of revenge. In return, they become her own personal army, trained to fight the Daimons and keep the unwitting humans safe.
The series is filled with Greek and other mythology, and the characters are nearly impossible to hate (even the villains).
