Hey. I know it's been a long time since I've posted. But I'm now pursuing music at University of Prince Edward Island. The wind symphony there is just absolutely amazing and if Dr. Karem Simon is absolutely amazing to work under. We've completed our first semester and the ensemble sounded awesome in the concerts.
We played:
Ghost Train(first movement) - Eric Whitacre
Fantasia in G Major - J.S. Bach
Bayou Breakdown
Short Ride in a Fast Machine
The Fisher Who Died in His Bed
Suite Francais (movements 1,4, & 5)
Russian Christmas Music
All amazing pieces. If you've heard of them, discuss. Or if you're also in a University enemble please discuss your experiences with us.
I can tell you it's so different from being in Highschool. Here, everybody is there for the music and they wanna be there. On a bad day, they might sound like a good high school band on a reeeeally good day. biggrin
I love it so much.
Any other thoughts?
