I don't know if anyone's heard of these guys in the States but here in Britain Pete Doherty tends to be in the headlines every other day (mainly because of his relationship with Kate Moss.. but that's an entirely different discussion..) Pete used to be in a band called 'The Libertines' with his best friend Carl Barat but Carl kicked Pete out a couple of years ago saying that he could only come back to the band when he quit drugs... we're still waiting for that day gonk The Libertines have officially disbanded now and all the members are involved in various projects. Pete's new band 'Babyshambles' have released an album (Down In Albion) and an EP (The Blinding) and are touring. Carl and Gary spent most of 2006 touring with 'Dirty Pretty Things' and have an album out (Waterloo To Anywhere). John's band 'Yeti' have yet to release a full length album but have released a few singles and EPs.

I remeber buiyng 'up the bracket' back in late 2003/early2004 can't remember when sweatdrop and peole going 'who?' when I mention them

then 'can't stand me now' came out over a year later and then the split and when I say I liked them people informed me that they had split up as if I was unaware of the fact

which was a bit annoying to be honest sweatdrop

but anyway, when I got 'up the bracket' I loved pretty much most of it the first time I heard it, the self titled album that came out safter was good, but didn't have the same 'wow' factor for me *shrugs*

fave songs? Well..that's hard...probably good old days, up the Bracket, time for Heroes, Music when the lights go out, what became of the likley lads and don't look back into the sun..and even then it's hard to chpose a favorite from both

quite like the stuff babyshamlbes have been doing...and Yeti, the bassist, john's band, they be good too, never got to see the libs live but hopefully will see babyshambles and/or yeti if I'm able to 3nodding

I saw 'Don't Look Into The Sun' for the first time on MTV2 and loved it from the minute I saw it.

I haven't heard a whole pile else by them though. (need a trip to dear Mr. iTunes Music Store).

I have Dirty Pretty Things album though and it's brilliant. Carl is an excellent singer, even if Pete isn't there. U_U

I hope they stay together until Pete can clean up his act. (It's getting better though, so that's great). ^^
