(I was on TheOtaku just lookin at some Yu-Gi-Oh articles and I found this. Enjoy!)
Yugi, Joey, and Seto are all great people, but there has been a big revolution on who's the best. I will give some of my points on them in this article.
First, Yugi. The main character of the anime, the good guy. A teenager of 14, but there's more than meets the eye to this little guy. He has the Millenium Puzzle in his possession, so then he has the power to turn into a pharaoh from ancient Egypt, to whom we refer to as Yami or Atem. Now, Yami, while he was king, played alot of Shadow duels and stuff, so he's naturally really good at dueling, which I think is cheap. See guys, without Yami, Yugi wouldn't be the big duel king he is today. I think that having a spirit ally is just plain not fair to everybody else in the show who duels against him, because as I mentioned earlier, Yami dude dueled alot of times, so he's a natural at the game of Duel Monsters. But Yugi is a very nice person; he would do anything to protect his friends, and even though if he had to harm himself. Plus, another thing I find a bit cheap. Yugi has a grandpa who owns a game shop, so then he can easily get a bunch of rare cards from him while all the other peeps have to scramble around for them. So although Yugi is cheap at dueling, he's a very nice person overall.
Now for Seto Kaiba. The guy we love cause he's cold, cool, rich...Yugi's rival and the reincarnation of a really big priest guy in Egypt, but unlike Yugi, he doesn't have a spirit ally or anything like that. Seto has had a very hard life. First, his parents die when he is 7, then, he has to to go an orphanage with his little brother Mokuba. While in the orphanage, he couldn't really enjoy his childhood; he had to mature rapidly for some reason, as I have heard. After staying inside the orphanage for about 3 years, he gets adopted by Whatever That Guy's Name is Kaiba, who then forces him to study his butt off. It was like endless abuse. Eventually, Kaiba's stepdad dies, and then Seto becomes CEO of Kaiba Corp. Not only is he burdened with a ton of responsibilities, some of his employees betray him out of jealousy. Even although Kaiba is like the one of the coldest people we have ever seen, really stubborn, ignorant, boastful, and has that cocky attitude, he has a really soft spot for his little bro Mokuba and will do anything to protect him, even though if he has to die for it. Kaiba is also an expert duelist and a genius. Unlike Yugi, he has to work his way to the top; Yugi only has to transform into his spirit ally and he's like at the top. Kaiba, I think, is the best duelist out there, considering all the hard work he has done. Not only is he a expert duelist, he's cool too! ^^ Overall, I think Kaiba is really cool and even though if he is cold, he really cares about the people he loves....which only seems to be Mokuba....
Now for Joey Wheeler! The clown of the show. He's so funny! Joey really cares about his little sister, Serenity. He would do anything to protect the ones he loves, even though if he had to give up his most prized possession. Joey's parents got divorced when he was young, so, he's lived a really hard life. He's like a kind of gangsta guy: another reason why you should love him. Joey's a really good duelist, but he still has some work to do. Overall, I think Joey has a heart of gold and is a really nice duelist.
Ok the moment you have been waiting for: Who's the best? Actually there are two prizes to give here: The best heart and the best duelist. The best duelist: Seto Kaiba! I think he's the best duelist cause, like I said, he works. Now for the best heart: Joey Wheeler! He would do anything for anybody, even though if he has to sacrifice everything. Hey Yugi isn't left out. I think he has the prize for being the most commited to his friends and dueling. So I hope you liked this!!!
