I LOVED both of them. because i'm bias to the archetype of the main characters. something about a little white-haired girl with a gentle monotone voice just makes me fall in love.

Personally liked the short love story aspect of shinigami no ballad, and i also love the fact that in shigofumi we get to see a much darker side a pretty much the same scenario.

Also, the cat in shinigami no ballad was nowhere near as annoying as that wanna-be-human staff in shigo fumi

Overall i prefer shinigami no ballad, but it was hard to choose it over shigofumi. And i would suggest to anyone who liked these animes to also look and the live-action drama of Shinigami no Ballad.
