The gathering hut is in sad shape after the hurricane. It's thatched roof is non-existent, and the woven walls are riddled with holes if they're still attached to the support palms at all. It is evident that water from the waterfall pool rose considerably over the course of the days of rain and clearly over the hut's floor which is now nothing more than a mud-puddle. Any items left in the hut have either been washed away or are thoroughly waterlogged and probably damaged beyond repair.

Blaze scuffed his foot at a frayed remnant of the palm-leaf covering, suveying the mauled shell of the comparatively frail dwelling. A slight shove, and a loosened wall swayed crazily, then flopped limply over, the frayed attachments snapping under it''s own unbalanced wheight. **Not even good for a fire.** A wry grin replaced the disgusted one. **I like sleeping under the stars anyways.**

**You, maybe,** quipped Savith, who'd come down to survey this as well. **I like solid stone over my head,** he added, a touch of humor coloring his words. He drifted above the debris, arms folded over his chest as if the scene were an affront to his sensibilities. **If we're staying here on a permanent basis, we should consider the rock cliffs. They sheltered us well and with a rock shaper among us, there is little that can't be done for accommodations - given time,** he mused aloud.

**I knew I wanted you to be chief for some reason.** Blaze grinned his approval, and kicked over a cracked support pole. **Llune's cave will make a great communal area, since it opens to the deep as well as the shore. I do wish we had some way to shut it up against the night air, though, without smothering us all by the smoke of the fire. But in the end it's big, and easily guarded. The only thing it lacks is good water.** That water was as essential as air was something the dunerunner never bothered to forget. **It won't always be raining, and the stream might dry up.**

The firestarter rounded on the glider, arms crossed over his chest. **And there lies a problem with establishing ourselves here so firmly. We haven't been here that long. We hardly know what's over the next hill.**

Savith snorted lightly, a soft chortle of a sound, at Blaze's first comment, nodding as Blaze's thoughts continued. **Time can be spent with the Shaper to make the are more appropriate,** he added, taking in the weight of Blaze's comments. He'd never had to think about this kind of sheltering before, and so the ideas were carefully thought over and mulled as the glider sought to make good on the responsibility he'd been given.

When Blaze rounded on him, Savith stood, albeit floating, his ground. His eyes were forthright and honest, only the smallest bit of tension being the telltale sign of any sort of worry over the well-being of a certain elfess as his mind sends her name. **We need to hunt this area, establish our territory and learn it. The storm interrupted that effort nicely. I know I want Starsong out leading the hunters. She'd used to this type of terrain, and has led hunting parties before. I'd like you to be among those that go with her. You're strong, agile, quick of mind and body, and trustworthy in a fight.**

Now it was Blaze's turn to snort, and roll his eyes. Still, a grin snuck through his expression. **You flatter me, old bird. True, I can kill just about anything under the sun, but only provided it doesn't get me first. I'll try to keep an eye on your lovemate, or friend, or whatever that wolfrider is to you. I try to keep an eye out for everyone, when I can.**

He backed down, in a sense, as Savith returned his stare, turning his gaze back towards the storm-ruined remains. He shrugged, and turned to go. **I'll follow your lead in all this. It's your call, you're chief. You don't have to be right, you just have to be shure. Because then, as we all believe it to be right, we'll be strong enough to make it right. Or at least we'll fall thinking we did all we could.** A warm burst of mirth filled his thoughts. **But that's the very worst that can happen. As long as we keep watch on the horizon, no sandstorm will catch us napping. Was there anything else you wanted of me? I'd like to go see if there's any eggs left in the cliffs. Or maybe chicks, now.**

The calm mask of Savith's turned into faint sneer of disguist at Blaze's send of lovemate, but only flickered there, half-hidden by training, for the heartbeat that word touched his mind. Instead, schooling his features (though his eyes still held that faint bit of tension from before) Savith nodded in wordless acknowledgement to all of Blaze's thoughts. A weighed half-frown of a remembered burden returned to his face as he turned from Blaze to likewise study the wreckage. **Wanted, at the moment, no, thank you Blaze,** was his reply, even as his mind worked through just how lucky they had been, having the wavedancer to give them enough warning to get themselves and their essentials to safety. The frown switched to a thoughtful pursing of his lips before he turned and pushed himself up above the palm trees and out to sea. ninja

The desert elf waved goodbye to the airborne figure. **Right then, see you later. Don't let them build another one of these.** Kicking a section of the hut's framing up to his hand with a ruefull smile, he swung it experimentally against a low rock, testing it's solidity. It held, and he swung it over his shoulder and headed back towards the cliffs, his normally steady gait tinged with a bit of a skip. If anything was bothering him, he shure didn't seem to know it.
