Entry #1 SUPER FRESH YOU CAN STILL HEAR IT MOOING RAW; Subject 00154903 Journal Day One Finally, we have done it! We successfully altered the Kaos Chromosome of a developing daruma after so MANY failures.
Subject 00154903, appropriately nicknamed "Kaosu", survived his emergency C-section this morning. Forcefully cracking open a young pod so early is dangerous in itself, but we had no choice. His vitals were fluctuating precariously -a side effect of our meddling, perhaps- and he reacted badly to even the most advanced medication. Luckily, the little guy defied the odds and made it through. Our test results show that he is perfectly fine, making him the first genetically altered specimen born without fatal defects or mutations. A scientific breakthrough. There is a small, inconsequential anomaly in his brain, but this is normal considering his rough start. We will closely monitor it just to be safe. Only time will tell if he will die like all of his predecessors, but for now he boasts a clean bill of health.
The CEO and several other Special Division higher ups have already broken out the good champagne, but I suspect the celebration may be premature. Even though 00154903 is physically fine, I noticed this afternoon that he was behaving unusually. In the nursery, he does not respond to affection or comforting from his caretakers. He seems uninterested in his surroundings. These are symptoms of a personality disorder. Maybe I am being paranoid? Well, flawed or not, 'Kaosu' and CCorp have made history today. I look forward to studying him as he grows.
