The king has never been very sure of his decisions. He wanted to help the people, but he was too focused on what he didn't know, that his choices just brought pain to his people. In the end, there was a riot, and the people where beaten down, but not before the king disappeared. Now the palace guard had been organized into the post-chaos search for the king.

Victoria walked down the halls slowly, the weight of her duty weighing heavily on her shoulders. She shook her head. "This is madness." She said to herself. Not only had the hesitant king accidently caused a rebellion, he'd disappeared after the armor had pushed it back down. She gripped the handle of her sword tightly.

(THIS IS EVORIA!!!! Sorry, she said this is madness so I had to do it. See, I can be funny sometimes.)
Lash was in the barracks waiting for someone to tell him what to do. He had come to help in the search for the king but no one had told him where to start or who to talk to, only to wait here. "Oh well." He sighed, playing with the string on his bow. "We'll get there eventually, might as well use this time to rest."

Victoria walked into the barracks, the two other knights having already left to do their job. She saw Lash, and didn't recognize him. "Are you one of the mercanaries that was hired to help with the search effort?" Victoria's voice was polite and calm, not revealing the stress and pain she was under.

Mase stepped in from the other door, having just put the rest of his gear away. "Yeah, that would be us." He said, walking over, his armor clanking loudly. He laid his greatsword against the wall and then sat down on a cot.

Victoria eyed Mase's splendid battle armor and raised an inquisitve eyebrow. "You don't look like just mercanaries." She stated.

"We aren't any normal mercenaries." Lash said standing up. Smiling at Mase as he entered. "We are mountain elves. Different kind of breed than your used to I'm sure of it." He then turned his attention to Mase. "Mase, it is very good to see you again." He said letting down his hood and embracing his friend. "How long has it been since I've seen you last?"

Adela entered the barracks, catching what Victoria had last said. "Well, I'm definitely not a normal mercenary, being a halfling and all." She smiled. "I'm Adela by the way." She held out a hand to Victoria, the other ready to go for her katana at any moment. She hadn't noticed Lash nor Mase yet.

"Feels like a couple centuries." Mase agreed. "Of course, we've seen a couple of those go by. It was fairly interesting." Mase shrugged. "I'm not a normal mercanary, because I'm part of the elven royal guard. My wife, Arnia, is the princess, and next in line for the throne." Mase shook his head. "May her father live forever." He whispered under his breath.

Lash took a quick step back. "Your wife now. So you did do it. Great now the next thin you know, I get a wife and we all live happily ever after." Lash paused for a moment and thought about what he said. "You know, since no one can live forever, do you think I could be king for a day." He said jokingly. "Apparently you've forgotten about the keen sense of hearing you and I share." He said smiling. Lash then pulled out a small red jewel. "I though you might find this interesting. I'm not big on the magic so I thought you might like it if we ever saw each other again."

Victoria watched the exchange with a slight disbelief on her face. Her these two mercanaries were, but they were acting like they didn't even take it seriously. And a halfling. This didn't look to great. Victoria cleared her throat and took a step forward. "This is all well and good, I suppose, but now is not really the time."

Nicholas walked up behind Victoria, watching the others for a moment before he spoke up. "I know this is such a touching reunion for some of you, but we do have business that we must attend to." His eyes flitted about the room, getting a better look at the others who where there. "I'm sure you all know why we're here, but I'm also sure that our dear Knight right has more information for us." He nodded to Victoria, then stepped to the side.

Adela bowed to Nicholas as it was the customary greeting from her home, just noticing Mase and Lash. She nodded at them both as well. He expression was guarded, but inwardly, she was surprised to see both of them there. She turned to Nicholas once again and asked, "What good would we be as 'mercenaries' when it comes to finding the King?"
~I'm losing track of all characters Adela knows. I think she knows both Lash and Mase, right?~

Mase nodded in agreement with Lash, and then with Adela. "I'm assuming you have some sort of heading, and want some muscle?"
