Her little companion was taking her daily nap, and while Lady Gwen didnt find herself the least bit tired, she slipped quietly out of her dear friends sleepy embrace as she jumped down from the bed, she peeked up to make sure she still slumbered.
With a nod of her head, Lady Gwen padded out of the room, her nails clicking against the hard wood floor. Walking into the kitchen, she was greeted by her companions mother, and then was promptly let out into the yard for her alone time.
Even the gate had a little latch to where she could open it and let herself out. Her companion's parents were good humans, but they didnt really care what she did as long as she kept their daughter happy.
Which she did happily.
Opening the gate, she padded out, turning she closed it behind her. It wouldnt do any good if Lilly got out of the yard...it was dangerous outside the yard for a 5 year old human.
She started to walk down the street, looking around at what winter had done to the neighborhood.

The neighborhood itself was a quaint one, not unlike the other ones around town. The whole area, it seemed, to beam with glee as it sat nestled under a blanket of snow. The snow plow machines had done thier job well, leaving a greyish hue where the streets were and cars were able to cautiously drive through. The houses were snuggled with snow and the roofs were all a blaring white color.
Nevicate, his pelt well-adapted for such weather, found the snow rather amusing, as he darted to and fro in the refuge of his owner's backyard. Amongst the menagerie of canines that insisted on staying outside, he was easily the most active. His larger companion, Euterpe, nestled on the porch with her pup, watched on; playing owner while Cadence was away at work.
Capriciously, he bounded in the snow to the gate of they ard and looked out to see a jovial westie, not unlike himself, trotting down the street. Goodness, was she pretty...Nevicate's head slowly tilted to one side and he was in something of a trance. A bark from the newest member, Ayce, snapped him back to reality and he quickly escaped from behind the fence to rush to greet the female westie.
"Ay! You there!" he called to her to try and nab her attention.

The snow clung slightly to the tapered fur on her small legs but that didnt stop her from continuing her walk, her eyes darted here and there. She was still a young girl, and this was the first time she'd seen snow before, her family was new to the neighborhood.
Rolling hills of green she knew, but snow was something she didnt.
The sound of a masculine voice caught her attention, her ears swiveled backwards as she then slowly turned her head towards the voice. Her eyes fell onto the handsome face of a fellow westie, a smile spread across her muzzle. She was the only dog in her home, she shared Lilly's affections with two cats, so it was a real delight to see another canine.
"Yes?" She replied, vocals were delicate in sound, a sweet hush above a whisper. Lady Gwen didnt have a very loud voice, as result of an accident as a pup. She knew why no one should run with scissors.

He bounded through an area where the snow was especially deep and brought himself to balance again before halting in front of the other westie, well in her way.
"What's a pretty little lass like you doin' in the snow all alone?" Nevicate asked.
