Amai waded deeper into the cool, refreshing water. The sunlight drifted through the leaves of the trees above, and dappled her back, as she breathed in the warm air. It had the faint hint of another wolf; it was male but that was all she could tell. Amai had been wandering through the stifling heat of the Western territory for the last four days and when she came apon a small group of trees she had wandered in. Even though she had scented another wolf she almost left, but had stayed because there had been a stream. Now, as she lapped at the water, she wondered whose scent it was.
