Happy New Year to you all.

I know that almost everyone makes New Year resolutions. I also know that most people make between 5-10 and maybe keep 1 or 2. Try keeping it less then 5 that way you can consentrate on them more. Also it's good to have some kind of support group.

So lets all share our resolutions and work together in helping us keep our goals. This thread can be our own little support goup.

I'll go first. My New Years resolutions are:
#1 - quite smoking by my birthday (feb 27)
#2 - find more time to work out daily
#3 - becme more spiritualy intune (mostly just by doing something everyday)
That's it.

This website is from web md. Talks about if your going to diet think not only of the foods, but what you drink as well. Thought this would be good seeing as most americans #1 New Year resolution is to loose weight. If you can't use it, it's always nice to pass it on to a friend or relitive that's trying.

Sweet. ^^ That's a good one, too. Congrates on already getting started. The hardest thing for me is to keep it decluttered. The fact that your giving your things away to salvation army instead of throwing them away is thoughful. I know some people that would rather throw them away because they just haven't the time.

I've already cut back to 5 cigs a day. (use to be a pack to half a pack)
I've been more "playful" (in otherwords I've been playing more energeticly, for longer) with my children. That way my workout doesn't take time away from them.
I've been able to meditate at night before I go to sleep.

It's a slow start, but atleast it's something.

that's fantastic! i know that it's really hard to quit smoking, i've never smoked myself, but my mom, uncle, stepdad and my boyfriend all quit cold-turkey and it was definately scary to be around them. (the withdraws were crazyness) last year i quit caffiene (for the most part) for medical reasons and i went through horrible withdraws. headaches, nausea, irritablity, all of it, and i imagine quitting smoking is pretty much the same way. GOOD LUCK! blaugh

Ko-yo, here's an idea for getting more exercise in every day: whenever you go to the bathroom, do 5 - 10 push-ups against the wall before you come back out again! It takes about a minute of your time, it doesn't require equipment or a trip to the gym, and you don't have to worry about anyone seeing you, because you'll be in the restroom. I do this every day at work. Hehe

As for quitting smoking, keep at it! Don't focus so much on immediately stopping, try something like cutting down 1 cigarette in your per-day allowance every month. For example, if you currently smoke 6 cigs a day, try one whole month smoking only 5 a day. If you can manage that, then try 4 a day, and so on. Even if you still have to smoke once or twice a day, it's a HUGE improvement over a whole pack a day! Plus, the change will be so gradual, you'll have more time to adjust.

If keeping the whole pack of cigarettes on you is too tempting, take out your daily allowance and tell one of your kids or family members to hide the rest of the pack from you until morning. My sister used that method, and she managed to quit!

How's your quit smoking goal coming, O-TO?

Also! Something I forgot to mention earlier. If you DO manage to go a whole month with one less cig per day, then reward yourself! Some small rewards make the effort worthwhile and help keep you motivated.

Some ideas are:
*A new (or used) book
*A new essential oil
*New incense
*A cute pair of socks
*Go see a movie
*New scented lotion

Pretty much anything that appeals to you and isn't outrageously priced works. And then if you manage to quit altogether, do something BIG for yourself! New outfit, new pair of shoes, get your hair and nails done... something that represents the new you!

Thanks. ^^
It's going... steady.
I'm not smoking more a day, but no less. At least I haven't relapsed. That's what usually happens.
