Here is a part of the message from the admin that i recieved later on explaingin the back up on reports.

"As you might be aware, Gaia recently had to lay off a handful of developers and other employees that were not volunteers. As a result of this, the workload for the rest of the team has increased, which slows down the rate at which we can fix things.

Gaia is trying to grow their moderator team, so we will have more volunteers to handle the terms of service reports we get every day. Training new moderators takes time and not just anyone can be a moderator. That contributes to the uneveness of moderators to problems.

If you look at the number of users on this site compared to the number of moderators, or if you've ever submitted reports yourself and looked at the report numbers as you've done so, you'll notice that if you file one report and it gives you the number 817400 and then you file another report 10 minutes later and it says 817450. Using this example, there are 5 reports filed every minute on Gaia, and they never stop going up.

And I should mention that it takes more than one minute to process and close most reports. So yeah, things are going to be slow at our end sometimes. But we never stop working, and many many moderators are online working even when their profile says they are offline.

You should keep all these things in mind when considering whether mods/admins are working on Gaia. And you shouldn't believe everything you hear from other users."
