OK to make it clear i'm a full christain, but back at christmas time it was brought to my attention that gaia only celebrates christain holidays such as christmas, easter, ect. After i thought about it i realized it was true and for athiest and people to other religions it ma be offencive. I personally feel that to be fair gaia should keep the christan holidays and add in others from all other religions. What are your views?

Someone had a thread about that once in the SF and the replies the theread creater gotten was "only gaia celebrate xmas yada yada" and all that other stuff of the reason why. So, I don't think Gaia would do that. sweatdrop

i personaly am an athiest. ya live, ya die, that's all there is to life. i find it simple and comferting. anyways, gaia staff uses the term x-mas and easter is celebrated by most religions (or non-religions) as a time 4 CHOCOLATE! ^_^
many holiday items reflect many religion celebrations and such also.
athiests shouldn't usualy have a problem because if gaia had an aithiest view then a LOT of koolio items wouldn't be created leaving many ppl wishing that they had this or that.

I'm a Wiccan and a lot of these holidays I don't celebrate. But it would be cool if they did some small event for other holidays in other religions.

It would be cool if other religious holidays got a little nod (maybe an Announcement?), but I know it's unrealistic to expect more Events for them. Gaia seems lucky to get the ones it's doing now done (if that many - last Easter anyone?)
I do think that Christmas and Easter have kind of risen to a point where to many people, they're kind of just a fun day to exchange gifts or get chocolate or hang out with friends. And who doesn't like those things? mrgreen
Maybe around the winter holidays they could have a couple of forums dedicated to certain holidays (A Kwanza forum, a Christmas forum, a Hannukah forum, etc)

i think u r right and so since we celebrate christmas on gaia they should do somthing like... hanuka to (but i dont celebrate it i think it is fair[plus id like extra items mrgreen ] that way everyone geats to celebrate their holiday.

Actually, you know what would be cool?
If Gaia invented their own winter holiday to take the place of Christmas/Hanuka/the other winter holidays. That way they wouldn't have to worry about offending and it would be a cool way to build some more original Gaian culture. smile
