Brief History: Born John Cochrane in Chippingham, England (date unknown), 'Jack' had a rather unfortunate childhood. Having been the middle child in a family of eight, he had to fight for attention - a trait that remained with him until his death. Losing his mother at age eight, he remained with the family at their cottage unt8il his twelth birthday, at which point his uncle took him to sea as a midshipman aboard his ship, 'Royal Oak'. Mr. Midshipman Cochrane had a long future ahead of him.

Time passed and Jack grew to become a prime seaman and a master navigator. Promoted Lieutenant, Jack took up a position as 2nd in 'Surprise', 1st in 'Sirius' and then was made Commander of the captured colonial Sloop-of-War 'Washington' at the age of twenty one. It was at this point that a rather spirited Cochrane became reknown for his ability to bring in enemy prize vessels at an amazing rate. Though growing cocky and rather irritated at watching his share of prize money being swindled by superiors, Cochrane struck the White Ensign and ran up his 'Self-Employment' Pennant when he fired upon a British Convoy bound for Gibraltor. Taking them into a Spanish Port and claiming an incredible amount of wealth, Cochrane took the advice of a japanese gentleman he met in Malta and began going by a name that derived from the Far East - thus causing confusion about his nationality and hiding his real origin forever. Captain J. Kurisutofa & the Company of the 28 Gun Brig-of-War 'Lady Washington' was unleashed.

Brief History: His birth name was Samuel Moraes, his father was a Portuguese deck-hand, his mother was an English merchant, he grew up working on boats with his father. At the age of 28, after the death of his Father and his Mother, he adopted the name Mcgraw and signed on to the pirate ship Homem de Guerra as a deck swab; he slowly gained rank and with it money and loot. Eventually the ship was seized by the Portuguese Navy and most of the pirates that fled were cannoned out of their lifeboats before they could reach the shore.
His lifeboat was one of the few to make it without being gunned down. He continued his life of piracy, this time on a ship called the Morte no Mar.
he was jailed At the age of 37 for swindling the wrong troupe of traders and at 43 he was released. By then he was ready to set sail again, so, with a secret savings he bought himself a boat and a crew and sailed from place to place, exploring the world, occasionally hijacking small trade ships for ends meat.
One night, after a very successful ship raid on a Spanish treasure ship, he slipped off in a lifeboat with all the plunder and happened upon the island Provoka.

Character's Name: Captain Argas Fantailler

Personality: Deceptively intelligent, charismatic
Profession: Privateering, pilfering, pickpocketing and other acts of petty crime. Also known to trade information - having a number of contacts that are able to acquire less than conventional goods.

Brief History: Rumored to have started life as a dockhand in the slums of Marseilles in France by another name - regrettably this never made it into the history books - Argas was drawn to a life at sea. Joining the crew of "Le Salle" as a deckhand Argas slowly gleaned knowledge of life aboard ships.

As time passed, Argas climbed the ranks from vessel to vessel - mostly on trade or exploration runs. At the age of 20 his desire for riches and to make a name for himself drove him to piracy. The prize was yet to come. The "Rose of May" is a cromster class vessel that was on a trading run from Holland when she was taken by the "Revenge" under command of Captain Sinclaire. Sinclaire gave command of her to Argas - trusting him to honor a thieves bargain that he would give 30% of all earnings to his former captain. Unknown to Sinclaire, Argas had spent a deal of time with many of the crew plotting mutiny - reacting to this new situation many of the crew opted to join the new Captain Fantailler aboard the Rose. Argas took the opportunity to show Sinclaire honor among thieves and delivered the "Revenge" a crippling number of broadsides from his new vessel before she was able to mount a defence or even suspect treachery. Fate had smiled on Fantailler - the rudder had been shot out leaving the "Revenge" dead in the water.

The "Rose of May" spent the next eight years burning through numerous merchant ships and making considerable profits - becoming infamous in european waters. It was sometime around the eighth year under Argas' command that she was spotted near the isle of Provoka...

Personality: Bitter and cynical, but full of knowledge.
Profession: Theft, but now just sits around telling how life was.

Brief History: Born in the desert, Daithes used to barter off the ports of the Sahara. He then heard rumors of a small island off the coast of the Floridia area, and went there. Landed in Nantucket and ended up governing a small town there that quickly decayed for reasons unknown to those who lived there. Stowed-away in boats and brought his learned self to Provoka to start his career. The rest is history.
