Chorus Line felt a bit downtrodden as she prepared her nest for The Harvest to get there. She made sure that every straw was in place and that the place was as neat as she could get it. She didn't dare touch River Nile's things, not wanting to invade on her best friend's privacy, even if they did share the small corner at Baker's roost.

She'd made all of the necessary arrangements and she awaited Harvey somewhat dejectedly. Chorus was both looking forward to seeing him, and not at the same time. Their last bit of their previous encounter had left Chorus jealous of Harvey's flirtatious side. She'd all but basked in the glow of it and then he had made it feel dirty by mentioning River's beauty. True, River was lovely, she just didn't like hearing it from the male she was more than slightly interested in. Chorus dreamed of the two of them settling down together and raising eggs. She didn't mention this to any one, as it made her extremely embarrassed, but she'd had the dream, nevertheless.

So as she waited for him in the dark corner of the bridge, she had mixed feelings of excitement and dread.

Harvey was feeling pretty dumb. Actually, that was probably an understatement. The slate hued male knew he had upset the plum painted female that had caught his fancy and the mere thought of it made him feel downright rotten. He wasn't used to upsetting anyone, even when flirting with other males or females, so he didn't really understand or know how to react.

Don't talk about River being pretty, he made sure to make a note of that.

He had spent the last night working on a little something, instead of performing at his stage. Fortunately the market nearby still had some flowers, even if they weren't in tip top shape... And were kept inside the center.

He managed to slip into the garden center unnoticed, for the most part, and had taken a rather bright, yellow flower, before he had been chased out with a broom. That night he had tied bright purple, red, and orange thread around the stem and he hoped dearly that it would be enough to cheer the female he would be visiting. He held tightly to the flower and fortunately the flight did not take very long.

He cooed softly to announce himself as he landed at the edge of the nesting area that Chorus shared with River.

Chorus heard the cooing and turned to find Harvey staring back at her holding a beautiful yellow posy tied with favorite shade of purple. It was, in fact, the very shade she'd made sure to get inked. The shade of purple was the only thing that her brother seemed to approve of, and after she'd been inked, he promptly went and got a full body inking of the same shade. "Oh Harvey," She cooed, hopping forward. "it's beautiful! Is it for me?" She blushed a a little and was glad for her feathers for they concealed even the darkest shade of red. Chorus couldn't stay mad at Harvey, because she knew how hard it must have been to get the flower, especially being a performer. Entertainers weren't scavengers by any means.

"Who else would it be for, silly?" He chuckled as he relinqueshed the flower from his paw and nudged it closer to Chorus Line. She seemed happy, even a bit bashful, so at least she wasn't still angry with him. That was certainly a relief and the male felt like he could breath again, instead of how he had been, holding his breath until she had said something.

"I thought you might like it..." He shuffled his paws quietly and lifted his gaze to her, grinning. Oh yes, it was very obvious that he was trying hard to make up for the sour note that their last meeting had ended on. He didn't care how obvious it was, if it worked, and it seemed to be working well enough.

Chorus shook her head gently, "I had no idea." She said softly, looking up into his eyes with a smiled a mile wide. Chorus hopped forward and bent to pick the flower up with her beak. As she did, she gave him a wink and nodded happily. Chorus put the flower gently into her nest and the turned back to face. "I love it." Her eyes were telling him the flower might not be the only thing she loved. Chorus knew she had to begin the lesson soon, or she might say something it was a bit too soon to say. "Shall we begin?"

He caught her gaze as she bent down to pick up the gift he had brought and he couldn't help but beam. Her eyes were beautiful and there seemed to be much joy in them. He felt his heart would melt completely, along with the rest of him.

"I'm glad you do!" He cooed delightfully. His feathers puffed up as he tried to relax, but he was just too darn giddy, a feeling he rarely felt. SO she liked it and she said so, an even better sign. Of course, now he felt like he would have to out do himself on the next visit. But wasn't he getting ahead of himself, now? He was already planning for next time! He was falling hard for her.

"Already? You sure any neighbors won't mind these clod-hoppers of mine?" He lifted a paw and waved it, chuckling all the while.

There was a slight fluttering noise as the darkly-inked scavenger landed in a more shadowed spot out of habit. Riv looked at the male pidge warily; Though her time spent talking with Chorus had helped her confidence a good bit, she was still rather nervous of others. She had already dropped off her scavenging for the day, so she was free.

Chorus laughed merrily. "The only neighbor for a good bit up here is River and I already asked her about it, so there's no need to worry." Chorus chirped. She couldn't believe it, she was chirping like some Corvid! Listen to her! Chorus had a feeling that whatever she felt for Harvey just might be for real. She wondered where to even start!

When she heard the noise, she knew that River must be home. Chorus steeled herself against Harvey flirting with her friend. She didn't know what she'd do if Harvey started to flirt with River, but she knew her heart might just break.

"Well, if you're sure she won't mind, I'm ready to try. I'll try not to cause too much damage." He tapped the ground beneath his paws as he spoke, then turned as he heard another arrive. This must of been the lovely River.

Don't do or say anything dumb.

He fussed at himself mentally as he nodded at Chorus's friend, River Nile. She was rather pretty, but he did not want to make such a comment and risk upsetting the pidge of his fancy.

"Hello there, Miss! You must be Chorus's friend, River? I'm Harvey, how do you do?" He introduced himself politely and gave her a slight nod. Just an introduction, right? No harm done? He turned his gaze to Chorus, almost as if he was looking to make sure she was still happy.

Riv steeled herself and managed a small smile. He seemed nice enough at least. "H-hello...Pleasure to m-meet you... 'm doing l-l-lovely."

The scavenger fluffed her feathers in embarassment. She'd thought that her stammering when nervous had gotten better. Riv sighed, staying in the shade.

Chorus said, "You can ask her herself, if you want." Then, as Chorus listened to his polite inquiries she felt as if she could burst with happiness. He wasn't flirting with River! Harvey was being polite, but nothing else. She sighed mentally with relief. "Hello River! Back from a hard days' work?" Chorus cooed cheerfully before she heard her friend stutter. River had been doing so well. . .

At seeing Chorus happy, the male felt content. River, however, seemed to be rather uncomfortable and he had the sneaking suspicion that it was his fault. Well, hopefully she wouldn't be too terribly unhappy. He wouldn't stay long, if she was uncomfortable with him being around right now.

He backed a few pawsteps away from River and settled on his paws next to Chorus, to give her friend more space.

The scavenger relaxed a bit when Harvey moved away, and settled in to watch. She was working on her nerves, really. At least she had managed to make herself actually show up. Riv nodded to Chorus, smiling slightly. "Mmhm..."

Chorus could see the two were obviously uncomfortable around each other and this made her a bit morose. Oh dear, what was she to do? "Did you find anything interesting?" She asked, settling a bit closer to Harvey. She liked being close to him and she wondered how he would take it. He'd moved closer to her, so she had the right to move closer to him. Right?

"River, we were about to start lessons, did you want to attempt to as well, or are you too tired? If you are, we can go someplace else and give you some privacy." Chorus Line cooed.

The Harvest roused his feathers in comfort as Chorus moved closer to him and he had to refrain from leaning over and preening a feather or two, now was not really the time for that sort of thing, especially with her friend feeling nervous.

"Oh, yes. I'd hate to bother you, Miss River. Not much of a dancer, so I'll probably be making a good bit of racket. We could certainly practice elsewhere, especially if you've had a long day." He offered her a smile with his words and bobbed his head.
