Spirit: Always one to take unnecessary risks for the attention, Layla - then a brash and rather thick-headed teenager named George - decided it'd be a really good idea to ride his bike off a ramp he built himself and try to jump his house. White fur & hair - Layla has a sort of furry white "bathing suit" that covers her torso, and her hair is stark white.

Spirit: Terry Quinn was the son of a wealthy whaler and had determined from an early age that he was born to sail the seas all the years of his life. So it came as quite a surprise towards the not-quite-middle of his first sea voyage one stormy night working the deck when he was hit in the head by a loose pulley, knocked overboard, and drowned. So much for that.

Petal hair - Vessel. instead of regular hair, Jayne has a sort of loose cascade of petals - they shed and regrow constantly, leaving a trail behind her.
Blue-tinted skin - Vessel. Jayne's skin is a soft blue in color, a shade or two lighter than her hair.
Partial heterochromia - Spirit. Terry's eyes were dark brown, but the left eye bore a splotch of highly noticeable green.

Spirit: Dylan Mitchell was known as The Human Goat in a popular traveling freakshow, capable of eating razor blades, glass, and other unsavory things without suffering ill effects. It strikes as universal irony that poor Dylan died of food poisoning after eating a bad clam on a dare.
