It says in Exodus 20:4: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."
So heres my question: I have a lot of anime and video game figures in my room. Same for my brother. Do you think that Exodus 20:4 means like having figures or small statues of your favorite video game or anime characters?

im probably not gonna come off sounding the way i want to but oh well-
its fine to have stuff like that ya, i mean, i still have a ton of legos and a few transformers in my room, but if it starts being the object of all your attention, and you devote all your time then its something you shouldnt still have. it really helps to remember that of the first four commandments[which all focus on God] the first two really go hand-in-hand with each other,(Exodus 20:3-You shall have no other gods before Me). so now looking at it in that light you have to ask yourself if youve made these thing which you have, youre god. goodness knows, how many people i know who have made their phone, xbox, or friends their gods. its fine to have stuff like that just so long as you can keep your priorities straight about; always remember God comes first.

Well.. its not like that. The verse generally means that there should not be any graven images of God or anything we dont know about. Because if we had seem God we'd probably be dead. xD
But as long you dont idolize those characters you'll be fine.
