♔ The little Changling Boy and Girl evolving items - doesn't it seem to match the Irish Changling legend? Where a healthy child is replaced with a Changling child? I just looked threw some items in Dream Avatar - and I just realized the name of the baby items were - Changlings.

Oh yeah, the changeling is part of Irish folklore biggrin It's also part of general Western European legend too, you will find it in Britain, Scandinavia and other European cultures too.

♔ Thanks Azyure! [*Desides you need a nickname!* O.O] That's funny, my text book says it, Pooka, and all the other fairies and leprechauns were "Irish residence."
The Changelings kinda scare me. . . O.o

♔ Lol! It's comical after you know a couple things or two about Ireland or another culture, and
see these creep into things you'd never expect to see them. All over daily life. ^^ I nearly choked seeing Angelena Jolene's new movie's title. "Changeling."
I grabbed it, read it - it's the legend exactly how it was written.
What's scary those is that it says it's a true story and that it's rated R not for violence, or sex - but for "disturbing information." O.O

Well, Ireland supposedly has more folklore than anywhere else in the world . . . go us xd
We learn a lot about it in school, especially the Fianna and Chú Chulainn. I wasn't aware that the changeling was part of our folklore as well, but stories about the Púcas and the faerie forts were always my favorites when I was growing up. My dad got me a huge book of Irish folklore and would read me a different story every night, there were tales of mermaids and giants and faeries, and of course the Leprechauns and Tír na nÓg . . .

♔ Lol! "Go us!!!"
I've heard about the Fianna and Chú Chulainn.
I forgot what it was. . . o.o It was in my homeschooling in Irish History.
I know tons of myths though! About Pooka, and the faerie folk. Pooka scares me. . . O.o And the Changelings.
I hope it's not to late to take some kind of class on these things when I move over there! o.o I really want to sit through a class about all this. ;.;
My Da used to tell me about Leprechauns. He'd say they were evil, and nothing like American's would say.

Yes! Changelings... smile
If you read Gregory Maguires Confessions Of An Ugly Stepsister it has alot aabout it in that.... Fun book.

The whole changeling thing was invented as an excuse for mentally and physically disabled people.... Strange O.O

Best story was Deirdre of Sorrows.
Did you ever realise how grown up the storys we are told are...
They don't beat around the bush do they. The mythological bush of course. Well they do with the faeries and stuff but they're always evil or getting old because you got off a horse? And the Leprechauns weren't that prominent in origional folklore. Just got popular because of the sudden American obssesion.

♔ I think I get what you're getting at.

A lot of the Irish folklore is scary to me.
The faeries in the stories aren't like the faeries American children are told about.
No ridicules "Tinker Bell" or anything like that.
I was told the faeries are easily angered and drag people to their deaths.
And the Pooka - who is a black monster that takes foreigners on a ride to their death at night.
Well, at least - this is what I'm learning in my homeschooling - history.
I'm not sure if the legends I'm learning are correct, since my textbook is
supposed to be only on history, and this was a small section.

♔ Psssst! And I totally agree with the changelings
being connected to physically disabled. It fits.

♔ - agrees on Changeling Baby -

I guess the story of Pooka is different with everyone.
( Even spelling. I've seen 3 different ways to spell it now. o.o )
Lmao! It scares me, I couldn't have it, lol!
I suppose all the stories are tied in one common factor.
It kills.
