After this to get endorsement from the insurance agencies he and his lawyer Donald Gennaro, he must bring some renowned people to the park to sign off onto it. So John flies to Dr. Alan Grant's and Dr. Ellie Sattler's dig site in Montana. There he convinces the two famous Doctors to go to his park and look around to sign off on it. He convinces them by telling them he will fully fund their dig site for a further three years. The two doctors are stunned and immediately agree.
Soon they are on the way to the park in a helicopter along with Gennaro and Dr. Ian Malcom, who is a famous chaotician. The trip over results in Dr. Grant learning to hate Malcom as he hits on Sattler throughout the trip. They fly over the landing spot on the island, land and enter a few gas jeeps to go to the visitors center. On the way Gennaro asks about the security of the park only to get a laugh from Hammond. Meanwhile the first jeep stops allowing the three Doctors the sight of a Brachiosaurus.
After the first siting of a dinosaur Hammond continues to take them to the visitor center. It is there that the group discovers how John Hammond made the dinosaurs. Through genetic sequencing and blood pulled from mosquitoes frozen in amber, they took the code and filled the holes with the DNA of frogs. It is during this that they also get to see the birth of a baby dinosaur...only it is a baby velociraptor. Dr. Grant shows concern at this site. During this time Malcom questions how they keep the population in check. They did so by making all the dinosaurs as female. Here Ian makes a statement that foreshadows events later in the movie by saying, "Life will find a way."
After that they move to the Raptor Enclosure and see a cow being lifted and placed into the cage for feeding time. They watch horrified and at the same time entranced as the bushes move and they hear the sound of the raptors ripping the cow apart and eating it alive. After this the park ranger named, Robert Muldoon, comes forth and answers Dr. Grant's questions on the raptors, their behavior, intelligence, and even speed and jumping ability.
After this they move back to the visitor center where they got chili and sea bass to eat. Which few of them even touched as many of them are in deep thought over what they had just seen and heard. Here Hammond asks about what they thought so far. He got negative responses from Dr. Malcom and Dr. Sattler, a neutral response from Dr. Grant and a positive response from Gennaro. After that they move down the stairs to start the tour only for Hammond's two grand children Lex and Tim to enter. The two kids seem to latch onto Dr. Grant immediately much to Dr. Sattler's apparent amusement since Dr. Grant had made it known he did not like children.
The two kids and Gennaro take the first car while the three doctors take the second car. Thus the tour begins, on the way they pass the Dilphosaurus paddock, only to see nothing much to the disappointment of all there. After that they head to the giant T-Rex paddock, where once again it is a no show. Here the doctors make a few interesting statements. First Ian says, "God creates Dinosaurs, God Destroys Dinosaurs, God Creates Man, Man Destroys God, Man Creates Dinosaurs." At this Dr. Sattler jumps in saying, "Dinosaurs Eat Man, Women inherit the Earth." Besides creating some light humor this statements also act as a small foreshadow for the things to come. After this Ian makes another statement, "See the T-Rex has no set schedules, the essence of chaos." Here he goes into the chaos theory while flirting with Dr. Ellie Sattler again.
Here Dr. Alan Grant jumps out of the moving electric tour jeep, soon followed by Dr. Sattler, Dr. Malcom, Lex, Tim and Gennaro. They head following Dr. Grant through the tall grass to see a sick Triceratops and a park ranger there treating it. Here they see up close the beauty of Jurassic Park...only for a storm to begin to hit the island. Here is where the twists and true dark plot come into play. In the command center, the programmer, Denis Nedry had a plan along with Hammond's rival to take the DNA codes from the cool chambers. This was held in place with security so once the storm hit the island and nearly all workers were gone for the mainland he hit the switch and code on his computer. He made it seem like a normal debug sequence as he took the embryos and a gas jeep and began to leave.
Because of Nedry's actions, the power in the park was all but shut off. The two cars because of this stopped right in front of the T-Rex Paddock. Here is when horror and terror strike the guests as the sound of 'Thunder' approaches. Only it is not thunder at all but rather the Tyrannosaurus Rex approaching. The five, as Dr. Sattler had gotten a ride back to the command center, looked in horror as the goat that was placed as bait was eaten. Here Gennaro runs out of the car and into the straw house wooden bathroom. The T-Rex touches the fence and noticing that it is not electrified, busts out and roars loudly.
Dr. Grant tells Ian to be completely still as the beasts vision is based on movement. Unfortunately, the two kids did not know this as Lex grabs the powerful flashlight hidden in the back of the car and turns it on...and thus attracting the Rex to their car...much to the horror of the two children. There the Rex attacks the vehicle to get the humans moving inside of it. Here Dr. Grant lights a flare and yells at the Rex distracting it, and throwing the flare as the Rex chases after the moving light. Malcom does the same, only he runs towards the bathroom after throwing it. The Rex headbutts Ian throwing him and destroying the bathroom to see a quivering Gennaro...who becomes the beasts meal.
During this Grant pulls Lex out of the flipped and ruined jeep as the Rex comes back. After a bit of keeping still the Rex knocks the jeep off of the hill and Grant and Lex get down to the bottom level...searching for Tim who is still stuck in the jeep, at the near top of a huge tree. Dr. Grant climbs up the tree and finds Tim covered with mud, some blood and barf. He pulls him out...only to hear a limb snap. So the two begin a race for their lives down the branches of the tree. They make it out of the tree and move on along with Lex.
Meanwhile Dr. Sattler and Robert Muldoon take a jeep to get the people who are at the site of the attack only to find a scene of destruction. They begin their search only to find parts of Gennaro, and a moaning Ian Malcom who's leg had been badly injured. They load him into the gas powered jeep and search for the missing jeep. They find it pushed over the hill and examine the area to find three feet trails, human trails. They head back to the jeep as Ian is there panicking from the Rex tremors approaching. The two run and get into the jeep and start it right as the Rex charges out of the treeline.
The beast roars as Muldoon begins to drive away and creates a nice and somewhat comical scene with the Rex chasing the jeep for a little while before it gets tired and quits. The three make it back to the visitors center as Dr. Grant sets up with the two children in a tall tree and gazes out at the eating Brachiosaurs. The two kids lean against him, one on each side as they had slowly grown on Dr. Grant.
Back at the visitor center they talk about what actions they could take as they talk about Denis Nedry. The scene then changes to Denis Nedry as he continues to drive to the dock. He ends up getting his jeep stuck as he tries to get it down. Only at the bottom of the hill he meets the creature(s) that will be his doom. He mocks the Dilophosaurus and then tries to make it into the jeep...only to be blinded by the Dilophosaurus venom it spits. He gets into the jeep and closes the door...only to hear the sound of a Dilophosaurus hissing...and soon you hear Denis's screams as the Dilophosaurus eats him alive.
The next scene is in the visitor's center and shows Hammond talking to Dr. Sattler about dreams. After wards it skips to the next morning to see Dr. Grant and the two kids leaving the large tree and discovering the fact that the dinosaurs were breeding and laying eggs...which meant that life had indeed found a way. Back at the visitors center, Arnold who had failed to undue the damage done by Nedry is forced to restart the system which succeeds somewhat. He is forced to go to the emergency bunker to restart the power.
After a long wait, Dr. Sattler and Robert Muldoon set out into the park to head out to the bunker. Along the way there they discover that the shut-down had shut off the raptor fences. This causes Eliie to panic a bit and Muldoon to stand up muttering in annoyance. They proceed to the emergency electric bunker, on the way Muldoon stops and tells Ellie that they are being hunted.
Ellie nods and runs to the bunker as Muldoon tries to hunt the raptors...little did he know it would be his last hunt. He moved and sat up his hat as a distraction only for him to be ambushed by the raptor...and ultimately eaten alive. Meanwhile Ellie is trying to get the power back on, while at the same time, Dr. Grant, Lex and Tim are trying to climb up and over the perimeter fence. Lex and Dr. Grant make it over but Tim does not make it down the other side before Ellie flips on the power.
Tim goes flying off the fence from ten thousand volts of electricity surging through his body. Dr. Grant caught Tim and revived him and helped him and Lex make it back to the visitor center finally. There Lex and Tim begin to eat only to run into the kitchen as two velociraptors appear. They chase the kids in the kitchen and the two meet up with Dr. Sattler and Dr. Grant. Together the four get the power back on completely with security and Dr. Grant has Hammond call the mainland to send a chopper.
After this they climb up into the vents as the raptors break into the room. They make it into the large opening visitor center room, only to be ambushed by the two raptors...one of which lunges at them. It is at this point the T-Rex comes in and grabs the jumping raptor in it's jaws and begins to eat it as the second one lunges at the Rex. During the chaos here, the four make it out of the building to see Hammond waiting there in the jeep and as Grant enters the jeep he says, "Mr. Hammond after careful consideration...I have decided not to endorse your park." Hammond says, "So have I." He drives off and makes it to the helicopter as it shows the Rex killing the attacking raptor and roaring.
They enter the chopper and soon it takes off...they leave the horrors of Jurassic Park behind them. The movie ends here...
Yes it is long...and yes that is all from memory. Jurassic Park is a classic and one of my favorite movies of all time. Well now also, Jurrasic Park is also has an underlying theme of man playing God for money reasons which lead to disaster. It is a good movie in and of itself but I like it also for the fact of the different personas in the movie. Then there is the fact of the chaos theory which does indeed become a major factor in the film.
