into this: (with the aid of dark blue and orange hair extensions)
Any tips on sewing and shaping? 8D I'm especially looking for helpful sites for sewing the extensions into the wig. 8|

It looks like the style you're ultimately going for doesn't have bangs. Depending on how the wig is constructed, this could get difficult.
You might want to start by getting some of the curl out of the wig. Fill a sink with water as hot as you can stand. The hotter you can make the water, the better. Dump the wig in and let it sit for a couple minutes while you go and get your hair dryer. Fish the wig out and put it on your wig head, then use the hair dryer to dry it off. It won't get all of the curl out of it, but it will help.
From there, it's a matter of sculpting with hair glue and hair spray (do NOT try to use hair gel!). The bangs might be able to be pulled back (again, depending on how the wig is constructed) and sculpted back into the darker blue section. The bottom could be curled back out using gel and spray (don't try to use a curling iron; you'll melt the wig fibers).
