 FlareClan There is a clan unique from all the others. A clan that hunts at a night and cuts a living out of our harsh desert home. This is FlareClan. And I, SilverFlare, am their leader. Unlike the other clans, we are cautious and are always aware of where our paws land. The Territory: The FlareClan territory is covered in desert and moutains. Their boundry with WoodClan is a steep gourge and their border with Twnclan is a small fast flowing stream. There is a natrual rock bridge that extends between FlareClan and WoodClan giving them a short cut to the Gathering. The FlareClan camp is hidden in the moutains that cover their territory. The dens are small caves carved into one of the many moutains. The Medicine cat's den is closest to the bottom. There is a small path that leades further into the moutain next to the den that leads to the clan's hidden water supply and most of the clan's healing herbs. The apprentice's den is a little ways above the Medicine Cat's den and then the Nursery. The Clan Leader's den sits at the same level as the nursery and the elder's den is above them. The Warriors den is the highest on the moutain. The Clan leader calls meetting from the rock pile at the bottom of the moutain side.

Crystal gave a large yawn and streched before stepping out of the nursery. Bird and Patch ran out ahead of her jumping on eachother in their rush to get to the fresh kill pile. Crystal turned her eyes up to the stars that hung over head, thankful for the cool night as the last of the sun's light faded behind the moutain. To hunt during the day could lead to burnt paws. Crystal walked past her littermates as they tossled on the ground and picked out a small lizard.
"Beat you," the kit called around her mouth full of lizard. The other two looked up in suprise, and made a mad dash for the fresh kill pile. One of the patols came back in and headed for the Medicne Cat's den. Crystal left her lizard and instatnly fallowed them. PatchStone snorted at their reckless early evning jaunt and sent them to the water pool to cool their paws on the stones at the water's edge.
"Go eat your breackfast, Crystal. There's nothing interesting going on over here," the Medicne Cat grumbled as he went on with checking his stock of herbs. Crystal went back to her lizard only to find that Bird had eaten it. She took a mouse this time and ate quietly.

Crystal looked around the Clan Camp. Many of the cats where just waking up. The first hunting patrol of the day was just beging to gather. Crystal walked over to see who was going. GreyThorn looked around the camp.
"SpiritWind, I need another warrior for the hunting patrol. Do you want to come," the deputy called out.

GreyThorn gave a smile and seemed to bounce the entrance. She pointed with the tip of her tail to inform the patrol that they were moving out. Once out of the camp, she took a right, sticking to the shadows cast by the great stones of their desert home. She led the patrol out to the eastern side of the moutain in hopes of finding prey in the shadowed stones.

Crystal watched as the patrol left. She was a little worried about them going out so early but the fresh kill pile was a little slow and GreyThorn wasn't mouse brained. There wouldn't be any burnt paws. Suddenly without anything else to do, Crystal pounced on her littermate.

GreyThorn stopped and cented the air. It was dry, hardly a hint of water to be fond. The heat of the day still clung desperatly to the stones.
"Lets spread out here," GreyThorn said. She crept forward, sure her warriors would find their own prey, scenting the air once again. Water! The one scent that would give away prey barried underground. She found a small burrow that had pebbles sitting at the entrance. The pebbles had droplets of water on them. GreyThorn crouched above the entance and waited.

"Bird! Come help me!" Patch called as Crystal wreslted her littermate to the ground. Bird seemed almost to fly as they knocked Crystal off. Quick as a flash, Bird pounced on Patch and the two tussled on the ground. Crystal shook her head and looked around. The cats from the early patrol finally came out fo the water pool. They grabed a bite of fresh kill before settling down.
"Hey, DuskStorm. Did you want to go with your sister?" The kit asked as she walked over to the older cat.

"A little" Duskstorm mewed getting up. He streched a bit.

Crystal licked her paw and again glanced around. The stars where truly begining to shine. Their guiding lights made her feel at easy.
"Why didn't you ask to go? I'm sure GreyThorn would have let you," the kit asked.

GreyThorn's paw shot out from under her as the head of a mouse poked caustiously out of it the burrow. With a single bite to the neck it was finished. She found a small spot of soft sand a barried her catch. Quickly she found a new burrow and waited.

Before Crystal could say another word, Bird and Patch barrled into their littermate. The three were a ball of moving fur as they tummbled through camp. Cats let out angry mews as the three bumped into them. Without noticing the three rolled right into the water cave. They manged to pull apart before falling into the water. Crystal glanced up and thought she saw a great flaming thing falling towards her. She laid flat on the ground her tail fluffed.
"Crystal, what are you doing?" Crystal looked up at her mom and then back at the sky. There was no flamming ball, just the spirits of her ancesters stairing down at her.

A mouse scriied out of the burrow into the open. Spiritwind pounced breaking its neck. Then she buried it so she could get more.
Duskstorm layed down. He looked up at starclan purring softly.

GreyThorn gave a small purr of satisfaction as she placed her caught her third mouse. She gave quick glance around and saw two of her clan mates pulling a large eagle between them and a third with a rabbit. Her purr depened for her clanmates good catch.
"Let's all get back to camp," the she-cat called picking up her own catches.

Crystal was still shacken by what had happened that morning. She sat with her mother in the nursery while her sibblings ran around the camp pretending to be on some great adventure.
"Don't you want to play with your siblings?" Crystal's mother asked. The young cat looked up and said with certainty, "I'm going to be a medicine cat. I can barely dream the adventures I'm going to have."
Her mother was a little suprised but only purred and curled her tail around her kit.

Spiritwind continued her hunt catching 3 more mice.
Duskstorm closed his eyes, and began washing behind his ear.
