Ok, let's start some talking here peoples. biggrin
This is a topic to talk about Puzzleshipping. Why you like it. What makes it work for you. Or any other deeper reasons why you think the two belong together as a couple. To warn other people this topic will be shounen-ai since we're talking about them as a couple. So if you're not into them as a couple you might not want to look here.

Ok. There are Eleven people in this guild. This guild is all about Puzzleshipping. How can this topic have no posts in it? ARE YOU PEOPLE NUTS!?! Ahem... moving along...
Does Puzzleshipping have to have a reason for it to work? --;;
1) They look alike. With me, this gives way to logic which instantly says 'They could be siblings!'. I am a fan of Incest so... ya. DON'T HATE MEH!
2) They have the whole Yami/Hikari thing going... and not. Darkness and light. That's what they're supposed to be. If you read the manga, that's how they are, but Yami changes to the good side and everything so... ya. They are alike, yet different at the same time. Another thing that makes them compatable.
3) They have the mind link going for them to. I mean, how much closer can you be to the one you love than to be able to mentally communicate?
4) They're always there for one another... well, maybe not ALWAYS there, but basically they are.
And until I think up more reasons as to why they make such an awesome couple... that's all I have... --;;; Oh well. My brain hurts and so does my hand. I haven't had a decent nights sleep in ages, yet I refuse to get off the blasted computer just to go to sleep. The day I choose sleep over computer will be the day the world ends... ya. Got off topic... oh well. Hope to see your oppinions and all!

Yay, someone replied. If those reasons are what make you like I won't argue. ^_^ I myself have my reasons and proof as well but I'm short on time at the moment so I'll post my thoughts upon my arrivial.
We need more people to join darnit. Go out and recruit people. ^_^

ok, my reasoning for loving puzzleshipping is because i think it is the cutest couple ever. it is the one couple in yugioh that seems more consensual, both sides agreeing with it. there are other couples like jou and seto and seto and yami that are more on a love hate relationship, but for a change this one is where both couples love each other (or seems more likely). not to mention this is a more 'normal' relationship where as Ryou and Bakura is one of those relationship that is more sadistic.
That is my reason for loving it....
this all made complete sense in my head...wonder if it makes sense now sweatdrop

Oooo pretty yami and yugi kissing. Always a good thing to see. *sigh*
I would go into my reasons but they're deep and profound and at the moment I can't really string any thoughts together. Though I will agree that they are the most likely to happen of any of the fanon pairings out there. (Yeah, I'm not into the whole hate=love thing to each his/her own I guess.) They have a wonderful chemistry that only two people who know each other deeply can have.
They really are soul mates...and so much more.

Well, I have lots of different reasons for why I think the pairing would work and why I like it. (Not that all of them make sense, but they are there! ^^;;; )
I guess I'll just present the most unusual reasoning I came up with for the pairing to work. I'm not even sure that it's going to make sense, but I'm sure as all heck going to try!
I think I read somewhere that some people thought of Puzzleshipping as something like narcissism since Yami and Yugi look so much alike. My counter-argument was that because they do look so alike, the attraction couldn't just be physical since I don't think that either character demonstrates signs of being narcissistic. They like each other for reasons that can be found by looking underneath the surface, their differing personalities, and maybe even at the minor differences between them physically.
I should note that, for me, this was also a major argument against the pairing Yugi x Anzu since I thought that Anzu would not really like Yugi for who he was, but for who he resembled (Yami).
So, I guess in other words, because the two are so similar, they are both much more able to find the differences between them and find what makes the other special. Like...Yami can see what makes Yugi, Yugi, and Yugi can see what makes Yami, Yami. That way, the both of them will know that the one they love, loves them for who they really are, not for who they might be like or resemble.
Did that make sense? o-O;;;?

Nice points ryuukoketsurui. I never bought into the narcissim thing myself either and would love to debate the point with some people. They don't show any signs of the traits of it like you said. I don't understand why people think that -besides the characters are different enough in looks in my opinion. ^^

They do look different enough in my opinion also. ^^ I guess people are lazy or something. They can't get past the features that both Yami and Yugi have in common, like the spiky tri-colored hair and them smexin' leather clothes (*Drools*). I would think that the eyes would make for enough contrast, but I guess to some people it's not enough. ._.;
Orichalcos Arc had lots of Puzzleshippy moments if I recall correctly. x3 Like them holding hands at the castle in the World of the Beasts. =B x3

I'm a major Mou Hitori fan as it is, so I love basically any shipping he's in.
Ok, that was kinda a lie...but whatever.
My main shipping favorites are Pride, Scandal, and Puzzle. I don't really know what made me take any interest in them at all, I mean, three years ago I would've cringed at the very thought of people taking time out of their lives to draw pictures of world famous bishies making out, but I guess I got worked into it somehow. O_o
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's just a remarkably cute pairing. Kinda a Yin/Yang set up.
I dunno.
I just love it. ^_^

I have nothing against other pairings, though I do like to see proof via the series/manga and not some fan contrived type thing, though I guess in a way it's all fan contrived xd ...but I have a tendency to keep my boys true to one another. Thus Yami and Yugi will always be for one another because I see more proof for them together than either of them being with anyone else.
But, I'm rather weird too. xp

Heehee. Me too. =^^= I don't like any other pairings with Yami or Yugi in them. It's Puzzleshipping all the way for me. I'm not against those other pairings, I just don't like/support them. sweatdrop
