Secrets Long Forgotten RP

Note: RP is very in depth with the story, read the story to understand whats going on. smile

Although they seem dangerous, evil, menacing, sinister, creatures around the world all live in harmony with themselves, and even others either forming alliances with one another, helping each other against foes and other dangers. Through time, many things have changed, drastically, many of the creatures that lived on this world are dying off, few struggle to survive as a much darker power has awoken from a deep sleep after many years, long before the creatures that roam the lands, there is no name for this newly risen evil but it is thought of all the same by everything, an enemy. Before, the creatures didn't become ally with one another altogether, there were smaller alliances between them and through those they fought, however in these changed times they were forced into such a thing, the evil was too great for any single type of creature alone to handle, and they emerged in a combined truce, together they fight the evil, but there are those who willingly joined the evil, forming a dark alliance known as the Wrath, they seek to make a pathway for the darkness to blanket over the world, in doing so, the killing of every creature with a heartbeat. After planning, many heroes rose up from each branch of the alliance, though most of them were unable to fight off the horrid evil, even the Wrath were too much for them.

In a distant land far off across the seas, many of the creatures retreated to this island which is now called New Avalon, protected by the glaciers and barriers of ice they live in harmony, away from the Wrath, even the darkness. In a blood stained message from the mainlands, they sent off their own to aide them in their troubles, and destroy the darkness which seeks to become the eye resting upon all of the lands. Throughout New Avalon, ships and larger creatures able to fly were sent off to the mainland to scout out any troubles and maintain peace throughout the branches, banishing the shadow from this world. Many of the heroes sent to the mainland arrived at the Mountains of Thunder, getting lost along the coast and forced to hike toward the mainland through the harshest conditions. The mountains contain many Wrath camps, scattered among the peaks and bases of each range, and the sinister darkness is an eye over the distance. Most of the heroes arrived safely at the destination point within the mainland and took scout in the largest village, Grizzlemaw, holding most of each creature in safety, from here the heroes start their journey.

Info for heroes: The village of Grizzlemaw is run by Chief Hawkwind and his Mother, Earthmother Hawkwind, who runs the nursery and medicine hut. Farshot, Ravenfeather, Mistrunner and Steelrage are the village guardians who roam the village. All others are villagers and visitors.

From here on I'm starting this RP, everyone is still welcome to join but keep up on what is happening within the story and events that will occur.

"This is the end..." The blackish red furred wolfen nodded to the voice. "This is the end of all your suffering. You will no longer be known as Luris, your family, your friends, your past, it is all gone. You shall start again, but not under law, or rule, or command. You are free, free to serve the Wrath. Now go, Angerfang, be free and take heed, no mercy, no survivors." Overseer Thunderpelt finished his in statement to Angerfang, both wolfen stood up over the torn village, his and Aurak's home village. The dark gray furred wolfen stared at Angerfang with his intimidating red eyes, he nodded, and they both departed separate directions, both with an evil smile leaving behind the burning village.

Aurak awoke at the smell of breakfast, "I see you are finally awake. You must be hungry too, your stomach rumbles like the mountains of thunder!" One of the tauren villagers spoke, placing food in front of Aurak. He yawned, showing his large lupine teeth and started on his breakfast. It was a bright morning, before noon. The pine trees were growing back, he could smell the fresh needles in the air from his hut. He stood outside and looked around, watching the busy villagers pass by, usually everyone would be standing by, but ever since he brought back the troop from the Crystalsong shorelines, everyone seemed as if they were getting ready for a war.

Darkness crept within this cavern, and an echo, repeating after itself over, and over... "Damn this place..." The imprisoned Overseer Kalin Uris'nelat stood, in the little light he had, repeating.

Sophia craned her neck, pointing her beak out towards the sky. She was surrounded by her followers, other harpie under the control of the wrath known only as the black queen. No one ever saw her, no one ever knew where she was. And only her children could hear her. Sophia was her favored child, the purest of angels now turned black as night. A glimmering example of the black queen's corosive wickedness. Sophia squawked and spread her wings. She leapt off the cliff and took flight, followed by her sister and brother harpies. She cawed back, "Brother Lyuude is not back?"
"No sister Sophia!" Cawed a male harpie. Lyuude was the other pure human who had been totally corrupted by the black queen. Now the male harpie 2nd in command. Sophia was the female harpie 2nd in command and absolutely detested Lyuude. She hated him because he was an arrogant male sexist. He treated Sophia like a common hooker, he knew her only as: "That female who doesn't like a smooth guy like me." Though she was duty bound to him because of his status.

"Urrgh, my head. S*it." Drake was in an especially bad mood this morning. He had been drunker than a cross eyed sloth last night and couldn't recall a thing. He knew now that he was in a strange bed in a strange place and his head throbbed and he felt a terrible hangover. He also remembered that today was he and Sophia's wedding anniversary. That only made him more angry, recalling that the love of his life was by now worm food.

Teeming with curiosity, Aurak stepped completely outside of the hut he took refuge in, and asked few of the villagers what exactly all of the troops were for, he knew that what the elder said, the Wrath had awoken, but how could they foresee a war so soon? He walked into the elders hut, looked around for a moment, before stepping forward in front of the main elder. "So... Just war, that is the answer? It's not the way of the earth mother." Aurak said, the elder nodded, he held up his hand, and closed his eyes. "Young Aurak, I do not prepare us for war, I had hoped not for war to come, and I hope it does not. I am simply readying a force, we need defenses to protect our village." He said, Aurak understood now, he felt calm, but if they needed that entire military force, whatever was coming couldn't be good. "Thank you elder." He said, returning to his hut.

Drake's hangover was miraculously beginning to subside. He opened his eyes, he saw above him the gentle caring eyes of a tauren, obviously aged, with faded orange and brown fur (Earthmother Hawkwind). She smiled kindly down at him. She looked up, "I think he's coming around." She said to a nurse. The nurse nodded and left the room, coming back with a smallish tray of meat and bread. She held also a cup of plain water. Drake managed to sit upright in his bed. He was face to face with the aged tauren, her kind expression making it impossible for anyone to adress her with disrespect. Drake took the tray that was offered him by the nurse and turned back to Earthmother, "Pardon me miss, but I'm supposin' you know where we are at? And just how I came to be here?" She looked sincere and replied, "This is Grizzlemaw village. We found you drunk and injured in a neighboring village. There was no medical center there, so we brought you here to be taken care of." Drake understood perfectly well, in the past few years Drake had taken to excessive drinking and was not surprised by her statement. However he was certain that he had last been at the tavern in Harbor Cove. So it was very surprising to have learned that he had wandered all the way out to a neighboring village. And it was true that he had suffered injuries. He concluded it had been the work of wrath forces, as Harbor Cove was a pretty strategic point. And chanced a guess that he had, in his drunkeness, summoned the spirit Wyvern and burned the whole port. Mainly because he had burns as well as cuts and minor scratches. "Thank you for your hospitality ma'am." he said politely to Earthmother as he slowly drew himself from his bed. He looked around, a simple hut was where he had found himself. He was actually perfectly healed, apparently that tauren lady knew a great about medicine. He walked outside and was starstruck by the sight, he had never seen such a village. Species of all kinds walked about, some armed with sheathed swords others armed with baskets of fruits and other market goods. He stumbled around the village amazed at the sight. He wasn't watching where he was going and, while walking backwards, tripped and fell on his back inside the entryway to a hut. He looked up at a fairly youthful wolfen who was blackish in color and had an air of importance about him. He looked up at him, his right eye trained on him. The wolfen looked almost startled but more baffled than anything. A middle aged man dressed entirely different than his sorroundings falling on his back and looking up stupidly was certainly not something that happened every day.

Aurak finished packing his things, and noticed something newly placed beside his bedding, it was a Taurahe staff, usually passed down to warriors from the Tauren elders, but only passed down through Tauren heritage. "The elder wanted you to have it." Mistrunner said, "May the Earthmother be with you." She said, Aurak nodded and finished packing his things, placing the satchel on his back with the staff tied with his belongings. "Thank you" Aurak said, he was great full of all the hospitality he was given at this village, Mistrunner nodded and smiled as he left the hut and took off with the village warriors toward Furadis, his old home.

Drake got up and apologized for his rude interruption. The wolfen looked at him like he was stark raving mad. He brushed himself off and almost immediately saw a group of people walking out of the village. He asked around and people told him that they were warriors headed for Furadis. Then on multiple occasions, the person would look queerly at his rapier in its hilt and at the mail armor of dragon scales slightly concealed by his large tattered overcoat. Then they would make a quip about how he should be with them. In fact, one insane old lady with a bent back poked him mercilously with her cane pushing him further and further in the direction the band of warriors was heading. She said in a screechy voice, "A strapping man such as yourself needs to help our village." Drake walked forward in order to avoid this demented old lady. He soon found himself marching behind one of the warriors who had a good sized satchel on his back with a staff poking out threateningly, "Mate, you know what's happenen'?" He asked, addressing the person with the bag.

The large wolfen looked at him strangely, since everyone addressed to the elder that morning was told of the information, but Aurak with his kind heart told him anyway, "I'm guessing that you were never told, Haha. It's alright, not a big deal." Stepping over the hill, he pulled off the staff from his satchel and carried it within his hand, viewing the forest he had to flee through when his village was destroyed, the forest he had to flee through as he left his brother behind, the thought sent a shock of depression through himself, but he tried to shake it off and continue with the explanation. "All of the villagers and warriors able bodied to go into battle are being sent into Furadis for a scouting mission, all of the guards stay back at the village in case of an attack." He said, "Oh, by the way, I'm Aurak." He said, he never asked for the others identity, he waited for them to answer if they wanted to, if they never did he would always address them 'You there!', though simple he found it funny in a way.

((After the next post, I'll bring in Aurak's brother.))

"Aurak, eh? Call me Drake. And no I wasn't told. I just poked by an old lady. I'm supposin' though I won'tve served good back in the town." Drake was following next to Aurak and the rest of the people.

Sophia landed on a branch of a great tree. She was supposed to meet Lyuude here. Suddenly, a large male harpie fluttered slowly down in a showy manner. "There you are you moronic pig!" Sophia cawed at him. He had a smug air about him as he walked slowly over to Sophia, "Baby, least I'm here right?" He said walking around her. She turned to him and slashed him down the chest, "We're behind schedule. We had to be in Furadis 30 minutes ago. WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!" She bawled at him. He looked offended, in a false way, "You're right. But baby, Furadis can wait. It's a dumpy waste now." He crowed softly walking back to where he had first landed. "That may be so, but if she wants us there we must be there." And with that she spread her wings and so did her group and they all took to the skies towards the village.

Aurak nodded and kept on toward Furadis. "They say there were sight of large birds a few moments ago, I overheard some of the warriors talking about it." He said, viewing the forest ahead that they were about to enter. He remembered his brother through this forest, the memories seemed faded but they were still there, printed in his thoughts he could never forget what happened. The clearing they walked through shocked him, once again the area began to glow, him and all of the other warriors stopped to witness the celestial brilliance the light upon the ice crystals was portraying.

"Someone is near, I can smell them!" Angerfang spat, looking over at the Overseer. His red eyes teemed with evil, it almost seemed like his pupils were ones of blood. "So can I." Overseer Thunderpelt said, "But don't worry about it, they are probably from a nearby village. We could use them to find out where it is and find where they are receiving troops." He added, Angerfang nodded but kept almost a growl constant toward the forest. "Where are those damn harpies, they should have been here half a moon ago." The Overseer said, making both of the wolfen alert, just in case they didn't make it from the troops the tauren sent.

Sophia landed on the ground and folded her wings. She walked towards Angerfang and stated in an angry tone, " We would have been here earlier, had not the infernal idiot Lyuude been messing around!" Lyuude was chatting with another wrath sentry and was making crude remarks about Sophia's body. The rest of the Harpie assault force stood in perfect rows and columns behind Sophia. The rest of the Harpies usually stayed back at Cor Hydray, the fortress of the Harpies on the peak of a tall mountain. Within the mountain was the forbidden Zaurak keep where the black queen made her nest.

(( That's alright, thanks. ))

Both of the wolfen looked at them with a slight of disappointment. "That doesn't matter now, I want all of you to watch over the forest bridging here and the central village of Grizzlemaw, there may be a scout troop heading this way." The Overseer said, almost growling, and then faced the direction he ordered the harpies to scout over, and pointed ahead of him. "Now go!" He yelled at them. Angerfang looked at the forest for a moment, "There is a familiar presence nearby..." He said calmly, almost without feeling before his pause. "...A brotherly presence." He finished.

Sophia turned around and nodded. The harpies did as they had been told and. Only Sophia and Lyuude flew hovered above the village of Furadis.

Drake heard a screeching overhead and wondered what that could possibly be. He looked up and saw a bunch of harpies flying towards them. He drew his rapier and said, " It looks like we might'n have a little fight on our hands."
