I'm starting my freshman year in September at TWHS. Any tips on marching band? Any other Frenchies out there???

Concentrate on what you're doing. Don't look into the audience or at the judges--that makes you more nervous...esp. if you see somebody you know in the audience. Also, always rehearse how you're going to perform! Instrument up, good attention, etc. I know I got lazy at the end of the season this year and started playing my flute one handed (Yes, it's possible if you know how to play harmonics (like brass lip slurs)). I would put my right hand down on the my side...then at our last competition, I put my arm down for about a second and realized I couldn't do it...if a judge had seen that, we would have been dead.
