Hum school is a lot more relaxed for me now I'm in the sixth form. I'm the only one in my class and I have free mornings and/or afternoons almost every day. The teachers treat me like an adult rather than a pupil; homework is semi-optional and if I feel like a break during my free periods I can just play on my laptop or surf the internet. I can also use the school computers and printer any time, just wander in and do what I want =o Never thought being old would have so many benefits d;

So yeah basically this year is being awesome. Befoooooore, when it was me and my classmates... well, firstly we were doing ALL the subjects, so there was the constant "UGH, chemistry =o= UGH, maths"... *not a sciencey person*... then there was just.. well, my class d; being noisy and disruptive and stupid and getting told off every few minutes...

I prefer things now! XD Even though there's more work, at least it's in subjects I'm passionate about and there are all those other perks~

Wow my school is way different from yours, but that also might be because I live in America.

I go to a small private school as well, but everything is pretty big here. I just started this year, so I'm still prety mesmerized by it. I have my classes everyday right after each other with five minutes in between (mainly used to chat). It's not nearly the same as you see it on TV. There aren't really any "cliques" persay. Everyone is genrally nice to each other, ofcourse not everyon likes each other, but we don't form groups that completely exclude everyone else.

Uhm you become pretty close to your teachers, since you kind of have to. It's not teh same as in middleschool (everyone tries to avoid seeing teachers out of school). Now you get kinda excited when you see a teacher, and you hold actual conversations with them.

Lunch is the best period for me (because now we actually get an hour). It takes abot twenty minutes to eat, and the other forty minutes I like to spend getting in trouble (hehehe). We're allowed to go anywhere on campus (the fields and woods count as campus), so you can imagine how much mahem we try to muster up. Teachers don't stop you or anything, because at my school tehy believe that you will always try to make the right deceision. Of course we aren't like super bad kids, but you always have much more fun when teachers aren't around.

You can also go wherever you want when you have a free period (study hall). During study hall your encouraged to study (uhDuh!) but my friends and I like to spen our time doing other tedios things. (taking crazy pics, making movies, trying to start up crazy business plans that will never work).

I guess school is prety fun, but not really for the learning aspect of it, but more because you get to be around your friends 24/7. They make it so much more bearable.

Wow I just wrote a novel, sry I tend to over write.

Well, I'm in college, so hah biggrin

But in HS, I went to a semi-religious school. It wasn't private, but it had a religious affiliation. (The school system and government is different in Canada). The people there sucked, but there were lots of sports and after school stuff to do. Heck, they even had buses that ran after school hours when the clubs and stuff were over. <3

Aaaaand then I went to a regular american public school. I always wondered what it was like. I loved the pep rallies and homecoming week. We didn't have it in Canada >_<

I go to a tiny tiny private [Christian] school. And I mean seriously tiny. We have about 92 students in the whole high school, give or take a few. My class [seniors yesss!] only has 19. We only have 3 minutes to get to our classes, which shows you how far we have to walk lol. I've been going there since I was a freshman, and moved here to Utah from Texas.
I love my school [although most of my friends hate it] I have an insane science teacher, an almost as insane english teacher, a math teacher who is the most sarcastic man I've ever met, it's just awesome. Although, it is very challenging. The only thing I don't really like is the bible teacher. Our bible class is so freaking pointless....but yeah.
I can't wait to graduate, even though I do like it.
Oh and we don't have homecoming or prom or stuff. We have "banquets" [dancing makes babies lol]. And we don't have a football team or cheerleaders, thank GOODNESS! Lol, I harbor some bad feelings about that from middle school at my old school....

That's okay XD I ramble, too!
Yeah, I like the fact that you can really become friends with your teachers =) It's like that here even before sixth form. But the problem with having a tiny school like mine is that because you get much closer to people (not just in your year group), when people fall out the nasty atmosphere can really spread far and wide x_o People take sides and fall out with other people etc. Luckily I've kind of escaped that now, I spend my days sitting in my own little room working... XD One day a guy came to deliver something and came in to ask me where to leave some boxes, he thought I was the secretary! ROFL (we wear uniforms.. d; )

Your school sounds kind of like mine, except we're even smaller D8 like 60 pupils... I miss the days when there were closer to 100, but you can still feel the buzz at break times and such. It enforces mildly Christian beliefs, we say the Lord's prayer every assembly and people get told off if they don't and they're not officially of a different religion. R.S lessons used to be compulsory until the inspectors made them allocate more time to Careers... scream Pointless Careers!

It still sounds very different though. We're much more relaxed, no bible study or anything. Probably cos I'm in the UK (no offense, but America does tend to take religion much more seriously). If it was too serious we probably wouldnt have so many different ethnicities (there's lots of Chinese, some Malaysians and a family of Muslims off the top of my head)

And yeah, there's no prom or homecoming *doesnt even know what that is XD* or cheerleaders or any of that peppy stuff. The UK's kind of miserable like that XD We're all filled with a sense of sarcastic melancholy. It's probably something to do with the weather. mrgreen

I'm not even really sure what that is =x. Homecoming is basically celebrating something with the football team. We have a week to do fun things, like dress up, in our pjs, fave character or something like that. We also play games and all that good stuff. There's a football game and dance that goes with it, respectively "homecoming game + dance." There's also a pep rally to up the spirits and cheer on the football team. It's.... different. Not all schools do the exact same thing, of course.. but that's the general idea.

And, I really don't see the point in prom. It's just a fancy dance.

My school also does Spanish and German... I did Spanish for a couple of years. There was also Latin, but then it got struck off the curriculum. Damn those inspectors again D;
