Why did Liz have powers in some episodes? Like blasts coming out of her hand, and psychic powers to tell the future?

because when max healed her he set off a change in her genes or change in something and she became something more

by being healed by MAx when so close to death, he rewrote her genitic code and now she is a hybred of sorts. He acsessed the part of her brain that we humans don't normally use and that is also why she has become psycic
