She hummed a little song -- one that she'd made up, of course -- as she trotted down the path of least resistance, her tail swaying in the frigid winter breeze that tingled her skin. She made her way, step by step through the ankle-high snow, one foot at a time. There was no reason for her to go any faster. What was the rush?
News had come on the hooves of a messenger, telling Akiilani of the birth of her cousin's daughters. What did that make her? She wasn't quite sure, but she was going to visit them.
Word was that Anansi had fallen for a two-sided unicorn stallion who jumped moods...or perhaps personalities, quicker than Lani could move. She wondered, briefly, what kind of life that would be to live. She herself had only found herself in the affections of a boy just once. He was a wonderful boy, too, but he fell for someone else. Lani just hoped she could find another just like him. Or perhaps they broke the mold.
She hoped not.

 Khajag wandered through the frigid cold, taking cautious steps to ensure he wouldn't slip on some icy ground that the freshly fallen snow had covered. The stallion wondered why he had left his warm dwelling for this cold weather, albeit, it was rather lonesome there. He snorted, revealing in the cold air a puff of his warmer breath. It was either be by himself or find company and he was dying to at least meet somebody else.
He took a moment to stop and shake off any access snow that managed to stray onto his body, also taking the time to see where he was. His teal blue eyes caught sight of a figure not too far ahead. Inside, he was feeling quite giddy that he was not the only Soquili around, but to contradict that feeling, he wanted to shy away from the Soquili.
The stallion made a decision to stay out of sight for the meantime. There was no way he was going to approach the other Soquili. How would he do it anyways? He didn't want to make things awkward. He carefully sidetracked behind some trees as he tried to decide what to do.

As she walked, she stared up at the sky, her near-black bangs falling into her face and the snow floating lazily down got into her eyes. She blinked it away, then stopped, looking around behind her.
Hn. She could've sworn she'd heard hoofbeats... Surely someone would come out and aid her from the boredom she was feeling at this moment. She gazed out at the lonesome woods for a moment longer, then continued on.
Sure enough, two minutes later she heard it again. She spun around with a delighted snort, only to greet nothing at all. Her brow furrowed, then she trotted up to the treeline, aware of something...something behind it. Maybe it was a Kalona, his wings big and leathery and maybe he was coming to take her away!
Lani gave a squeal of delight at the thought, then poked her nose through the trees, snorting around for the familiar scent of horse. "Oh Mister Kalooooonnnaaa! Come out and play!"
