I feel kind of stupid asking this.....but what's up with the Seven Deadly Sins part of the name sweatdrop

Simpley stating is the humuculi ... are named after the seven deadly sins .. ((there is going to end up being seven of them)) the seven deadly sins are
1. Averice (Greed)
2. Envy
3. Glutony
4. Lust
5. Pride
6. Sloth
7. Wrath
The only one that hasen't been introduced on Adult swim yet is Pride .. but I know who he is lol >.< ..so next time you watch keep your eye out for these seven ok ^^''

Unfortunately the manga provides very few correlations to the actual anime series in respect to the homunculi.
Though the series with fan subs are surprisingly easy to find on the net for free.

Their bothe good but the manga is better. I own up to #11 in the manga and i have seen all the epsodes.(Just realized that i am shorter then Ed.Nnnnnnnooooooooooooo!!!!!!)lol

why cant he just make himself TALLER???!!!
he hates being called SHRIMP,and TINY and all
his other annoying little nicknames,so why doesnt
he just use his alchemical skill to GROW!!!':l

its because if you have to much of one of it, it could hurt you or someone else.
pride: you can be over arrogent and kill your own son(like king bradly)
greed: you could steel way to much and hurt other people out of pure greed.
lust: you can kill someone because they took your lover
glotteny: you can eat to much and die
wrath: you can kill someone out of anger
envy: you can kill someone out of jealousy
sloth: to slow and someone gets hurt or killed
