I have heard from my friends (who are all obsessed and in love with Twilight) that there is another book about vampires that is so good it competes with Twilight. Now, I don't know if that is true, but they say the Marked, and the rest of the House of Night series is unbelievably good and maybe even better than Twilight. Has anyone ever read or heard of these books?

I have been meaning to read that series for a while. I mean I heard of it but haven't gotten to reading it. Just like Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead I reead that andd that was pretty good but I haven't gotten to reading the second one.

um...I bought the whole series, and it was a bit... campy....
Pushing religion waaaaay too much. It was all a bit obvious.
Not BAD, persay, just not worth buying...
Try "Vampire Academy." Lamest name ever, lamest coverart, GREAT Vampire series for teens!!!

im reading it. and im bout little bit more than halfway.
and i love it so far!
it's pretty good.
but twilight of course is better
whee

Yeah I've seen em everytime I do a search on a book on Amazon. But haven't really heard anyone talking about em.

I've read the first one. I liked it, but I think Twilight's better.

I only read the first one, and I thought it was miles better then Twilight because it was a more accurate representation of teenagers. I had a problem with that in Meyer's series, because the teens seemed kind of fake to me; but I did like Marked a lot.
As for other series', I recommend the Vampire Hunter D books. Kikuchi-san does a really good job of creating this world that is almost too hard to believe, but it sucks you in and you just can't put the book down till you're done. Artistic and one of the best reads I've ever sat through. I'd say it's one of the quintessential vampire novels, or series', out there; and deserves to be ranked with Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and of course, Bram Stoker's Dracula.

my friend has been trying to get me to read em but i haven't had the time. she says there good, but not as good as twilight so yeah

I've read them. They're good, but I still think Twilight is better. It doesn't seem like it focuses on them being vampires really, and I hope I don't get attacked for this comment, but I think Zoey falls in love with about every other guy she sees. It gets a little repetitive.
Sorry D: But it is worth reading imo.

I have read the entire "House of Night" & "Vampire Academy" series and thoroughly enjoyed them. It's hard to compare any book to the Twilight series, though. Whether or not a book is "written" isn't so much the question as if the books retains the same magic. I'd suggest reading both the series, though. You'd be just in time for the next installment in both series which both come out in March.

[In my opinion] I don't think it'll compete with something as huge as Twilight. Probably with all the other vampire novels, yes. That's just my opinion.

lamest series ever! the main character in it is stupider than Bella. I know someone who said that it stopped them from being obsessed with twilight but its so stupid it made me like twilight more.
