 Dusk, a little grey westie pup with three butterflies on her hindquarters was sleeping soundly in the shadow of an old oak tree outside her owner's house.

"Mum...? Daaaaaad..?"
Wave trotted down the sidewalk, searching left and right for his parents. They had always been strays, and he knew they wouldn't be worried for a while. But he was unfamiliar with this part of town. The houses were getting spaced further and further apart it seemed.. and there were less cars and people to be found. Wave didn't like where this was going.
But just as he was about to turn around, he picked up the scent of another dog. He swiveled his head in every direction, listening and looking for the other dog. But... where was it? "OH!" There she was! Wave had to squint to see her, she blended in so well with the shadow. He bounded over to the other small Westie and licked her forehead, even though she was clearly sleeping. "Hey there!"

Somehing wet, and slobbery brushed across Dusk's forhead. Was that a...tongue? She blinked her eyes open, and when the blurr cleared, she was nose to nose with another puppy. "GWAH!!" Startled, she bounced backward a whole three inches, bumping into the tree she'd been sleeping beneath. "Ouch! That huuuurt! ....Who're youuuu? An'.... why are you in my yard...?" Dusk poked at the "intruder's" nose, just to make sure he was real and she wasn't still alseep and dreaming.

Wave giggled at the other pup, his tiny stub tail wagging furiously. "Are you okay? I'm--Hey!" Wrinkling his nose because she poked it, he stepped back a couple feet and sneezed multiple times. He buried his face in the grass, eyes shut tight, trying to resist the next one. "Ahhhh! I hate those!" He grunted, sensing that the sneezing fit was over, and rolled onto his back, shoving his bright blue paws playfully in her direction. "I'm Wave! I'm here 'cause... 'cause... Well I dunno! 'Cause I saw you!"
