Hi, my name is Jess. I'm looking to go to Anime Boston this spring, but don't have a clue who or how to cosplay. This is what I look like, aside from being short and thin.

I'm looking for a girl to cosplay as, with black hair resembling mine. I can do hair dye, but want to avoid it. I love kitty girls, so that'd be a plus. But I'm open to any suggestions. Please leave me a link leading to a picture of the suggestion(s) or a picture itself. I'm up for a challenge as far as the costume goes. I do sew. But whole makeup body jobs are not going to work out. Please and thank you! 3nodding

If you must keep your hair, how about Aizawa Minto from tokyo mew mew? Her costume doesn't look too dificult to make: Click for image

However, I suggest you let your fandom drive your decisions. If you really like an anime character, don't worry about if they look like you or not, and just make the costume. (or buy it if you must) Makeup, wigs, and a little bit of acting can turn almost anyone into someone completely different. (^.^)

Good luck and hope to see you at AB 09!

Thank you for your post. I must say I am disappointed that nobody else has commented...

To be honest, the only advice I can give without knowing what you want to cosplay is just to make sure you have fun doing it. If you're doing it because you think you have to have a costume, don't. Make sure you enjoy doing it. Enjoyment will follow automatically.

Don't necessarily cosplay your favorite characters. Cosplay a character you will enjoy being for the day. They aren't always the same thing.
