~Setting~
The Realm of Alara: at first nothing special is noted of the city, other than it's ornate towers, and large walls. But in the shadows of normal everyday life, all manner of races struggle for dominance.
In the fantasy world of Alara, time has passed to allow early fire arms, as well as early electricty, but the old ways are still favored, such as the sword, and oil lanterns.
Constant bandit raids, have the royal knights stretched thin trying to protect the many villages that abound outside the grand Alara walls.
You may become any occupation you could think of, be it royal knight or common sell sword, or nothing more then an normal citizen.
As for races, anything goes, so long as it's nothing all powerful, can be killed, and please leave a short description if it's not a well known race.
Welcome, to the world of, Alara!!

Gaian Name: Jr Minty

Name: Jeremy Ian Spell

Age: 16

Race: Human

Sub-race: Mage

Occupation: Apprentice

Weapons: Jeremy tends to avoid using weapons, as he hates hand to hand combat. If he ever must fight, he'll try to keep his distance and attack using spells and summonings. If this is impossible, he is an experienced fighter, and certainly can throw a good punch.

Skills: Jeremy is experienced in Elemental Magic, however primarily Air Magic. Elemental Magic can take a toll on his body, especially when summoning his Guardians of Each, Mystia, Aqos, Luos, Pyua, Gia, and Crysalis. Summoning any of them can be extremely dangerous, and possibly result in death, or worse, if controlled for too long. Jeremy has only managed (or needed) to summon any of them twice, once Mystia, and once Gia. As for the others, they lie, waiting for him to become strong enough for him to summon them.

Bio: Though Jeremy is young, he has already experienced most of the harsh realities of the world. He never knew anyone as a parent, but he did have a foster mother for a while once. That was before Yurin, the High Mage of Elementals came to the village, demanding that the village produce him the strongest and fastest boy to become his Apprentice or he would destroy the village and all it's folk. The people obeyed, giving him Jeremy, who was unfortunately the only one that met Yurin's standards.

So it was 3 years ago that Yurin began training him in the arts of the Elements, and soon it was discovered that he had a hidden talent for it. Deep within him, he had the capability to summon giant guardians, ones that could surpass the powers of Yurin himself. Realizing this, Yurin set Jeremy out on a quest to find then seven Elemental stones and bring them back to him. Should he find them successfully, Yurin would release his hold on the village and never return. The seven stones, unknown to Jeremy, were far more powerful than the Guardians lying dormant in him. Yurin planned on using them to destroy Jeremy with them, and eventually become the ruler of the world.

Personality: Jeremy is a very independent guy, although that doesn't mean he isn't friendly. He loves meeting new people, and loves to party once in a while. He's very determined, and deadlines make him go crazy. He MUST be ready at all times, and he hates miscalculations. Preparation isn't a word, it's a motto.

Image/Description: Jeremy has a pair of gloves given to him by the mage Yurin, used for amplifying the effects of Air Magic. They are also useful for creating barriers against certain Elements, aside from lightning, and can help in the summoning of his Guardians.

Among the most sick was Ireth herself she eventually got better but a cough continues to plague her. She travels across the realm now healing when she can and helping others...anything to leave behind those memories.
Personality: She can be troubled but most often has an upbeat attidue followed by some serious sarcasm. She is kind, laid back, and a protector of the down-trodden.
Description of Race: She is a full elf, though a sick one. She has all the strength, speed, and stamina of her race, as well as a deeper insight of those other races come by her deep travels across Alara.

~Announcement~

Day: day 1, dusk.
Weather: Heavy Rain, dark clouds.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:15 pm

It was another dark, rainy day in Alara, the third in a row.
It was morning, the bits, and peices of sunlight that made their way thru the dark storm clouds, began to stretch forth acrossed the land.
Outside the great walls of the castle town, upon an old road, now muddy from the days of rain, walked a man.
Garbed from head-to-toe in an black hooded cloak, an katana hanging on the left side of his waist.
The man stops in the middle of the road, peering up at the dark sky.
His red eyes starring from under his hood.
Another dreary day....
He contniues his long walk back to the heart of Kingdom Alara.
Another job completed, I think I'll take some time off after this....

Ireth

Ireth walked along the now deserted street, her black cloak trailing out behind her in an eerie fashion. Coupled with the fact that it was threatening rain she made quite the appearance. Sighing quietly to herself she gently opened a door and threw back her hood. Blonde hari cascaded down to her shoulders and wide eyes surveyed the small Inn and Bar.
Ire walked over to a counter and sat down. A bar maid came over, "Just water please." Receiving her glass with a small murmur of thanks she surveyed the people at this lonely place. Their fear of her had faded as they saw her calm clear gaze and they even softened somewhat. She wasn't unaware though, of how some pulled their children closer to them or touched their weapons threatenly. She caressed the smooth hilt of her own sword for reassurance, 'Such a waste of travel. They don't accept me and no one is hurt. There is never anything interesting when I come to a town, it's no fun.' She thought to herself while taking another sip of water.

Jeremy sat up at the table, examining the stone, scratching his head. It was the only stone he had managed to find, the stone of Darkness. It radiated evil auras, and simply looking at it made you go crazy. According to Yurin, it could be used as a compass, it would try to attract stones of which complimented itself, and distance itself from those that opposed it. But hardly any of the seven stones complimented Darkness, and only the Light stone really opposed it. However, as he approached the Light stone, the Light stone would also try to keep away from it, making it therefore impossible for someone with the stone of Darkness to find the Light stone.

Jeremy laid his head on the table as the waitress passed by, offering him a drink. He accepted graciously. Though he was only 16, he enjoyed Alcohol, and it was rare to find anyone that would refuse his business. He had plenty of money, and Yurin was backing him, as everyone in the town knew. Anything he wanted was his, but Jeremy tried to avoid exercising the privilege. It wasn't this town in danger anyway.

During his walk back, several travellers, merchants perhaps, came walking down the opposite way of the man.
In a few moments they would pass him, so Arnose pulled the scarf around his neck up just over his nose, covering the lower portion of his face, while the hood was up all that could be seen was his eyes.
"...."
He said nothing as the group passed, hoping only that they did not take too much interest in the dark garbed man.

The empty glass clinked lightly against the table as Jeremy placed it back on the table. He was used to booze, it would take a lot more than that to get him drunk. He giggled and fiddled again with the stone in front of him. The thing perplexed him, the aura it held in itself made him feel afraid every time he picked it up. Well it was the stone of darkness, what could you expect?

He coughed, and leaned against his chair, looking up at the ceiling of the old inn. He knew the owners from a while back, they had been one of the only inns that offered 'Do Not Disturb' signs, and even when there wasn't one, they didn't usually barge in anyway. That was good for Jeremy, he would often have to preform strange little rituals or something of the sort to try and pinpoint the location of the next stone.

He sighed, tapping the glass with his finger. Tomorrow he would leave again and set out for the rest of the stones, hopefully.

Ireth

Ireth sighed and set her drink down. She felt different and tried to fight it back. 'Ah too late.' she thought to herself dryly right before a huge coughing fit broke out. She reached for a nearby linen napkin and held it to her mouth. With an apologetic look to everyone in the pub she gently set down some coins on the table and with a nod in the direction of the inn keeper she lifted her bag and holding it to her chest with one hand, the other still being clamped to her mouth, she exited while hoping that no one would be too angry at her terrible outburst. Ire sat at one of the benches outside and stared at the ground unseeing for a time.
She dropped her bag on a semi-dry patch of ground and then rearranged her sword at her side. Then she slowly withdrew the napking with hands that shook. It was red...she sighed and tossed it away. Running shaking fingers through her blonde hair she stared at the clouds overhead. "Why does this happen? What did I ever do?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:33 pm

"Many innocence, have asked that very question.."
The enigmatic man stood but a few feet from Ire.
"And few have found the answer..."
His sarrowful red eyes peering from below the hood.
"sorry, but I overheard you..
I was heading back to the Grand Altera..
Would you care to accompany me?"

The man began to walk by Ire, he stopped a few feet passed her.
I think we'd both enjoy the company..
Unless I presume to much, Mistress Elf.

Ireth

Ireth started with surprise and turned her own silvery-gray blue eyes towards the cloaked man. Her lips curved slightly into a smile, "I don't supposed you would be one of those few?" She got up and walked over to the man with graceful dancers step and curtsied to him to just the degree proper and with trained execution.
She stood tall again and flicked her hair behind her ears showing them as her true elven heritage, "It's no problem at all. If you don't want someone to hear something then you probably shouldn't speak it outloud or so said my many mentors. I would be honored Master, but it's simply Ireth, I would enjoy it very much but you don't need to offer if you think you'd find me a burden."

((It's no trouble at all. I hope you are well? Anyway, I'm glad that you are back. I liked this roleplay for all of teh two posts that I've made razz ))

He tipped his head in a bowing fashion.
He was rough to look at, many years of war, fighting, and surviving, had reduced much of manners, but a sence of elegance could be seen.
As if long ago he was something more then an lowly sell-sword.
"No trouble at all, Ireth was it.
I am Arnose Orsbane, uh but just call me Arnose.
I've been out, doing some... field work, and was on my way back to the castle to receive my pay.
I've walked this road many times in the past, and I Know it to be more enjoyable with some one to talk to.

He began the long walk back to Alara City, with an warm smile to help the woman feel at ease.
"So tell me, if it's alright to ask, what brings you out here?"

Ireth

Ireth regarded him casually and without any judgement, one of her oddities as an elf is that she wasn't looking at people for weaknesses or differences, she just saw them. She inclined her head and then spoke again as she followed after him along the road. Her tone light and easy, "Yes, Ireth, or Ire if you'd like. So Arnose what fieldwork were you doing if you don't mind me asking and don't spare me if you think I'd be the elf of tender feelings. I--I've done some things that I'm not proud of...some of it being not quite right with honor."
She glanced ahead at the near deserted road and smiled drolly, "Some how I'd think company would be a welcome addition to any party now that you speak of it. " She paused at his next question, "What brings me here? I travel more now that I am one of the last of my clan...I heal when I am permitted to by the Higher Powers.."She spoke in riddles around her obvious illness, "Are you hurt? I believe I'd be able to heal you some if you were. Oh, I must warn you though some times I am prone to fainting if that will slow you down please tell me. I wish not to be a burden to anyone."
PostPosted: Wed Feb 25, 2009 1:28 pm

"No, a burden you will be not.
And thank you for the offer, but I'm not hurt.
The... Angels watched over my fighting this day.
As for my field work, I'm a Mercenary, I was hired by the royal guard to dispatch some bandits.
Well, all I can say is mission accomplished...

After a few minutes of thinking too himself, he spoke with greif as if something was rembered from the past.
"Honor, as far as I'm concerned, is a luxery in this world.
A luxery that at times cannot be permitted to even speak of...
But enough of this talk.

He looked back with an more cheery smile.
Once we get to the city, there's something I would like to show you.
You see I have worked for the Royal knights many times, and they have permitted me to go to certain places in the city, that only soldiers are allowed to visit.
Anyway, there's a view from one of the towers, that I think you would enjoy.

After a while of walking they came over an hill, and slowly, the tops of the towers from Castle Alara, could be seen peeking from above the massivly large walls surounding the city.
The banners bearing the King's code of arms, could be seen waving in the distance.

Ireth

Ireth laughed lightly and then smiled at Arnose, "That is good then on both accounts of course. That is good that you have the Angels watching you, no harm will befall one of their Chosen, or so I've heard." She flicked a piece of hair behind her ear again and then looked at him with her head tilted to the side slightly. "You don't seem to have come from a battle with multiple foes. I am honored to meet you for you must be a great swordsman..." She was silent for a time and then spoke quietly almost hesitantly as if speaking this wish of hers was foolhardy, "Perhaps, one day permitting my health you would teach me some of your swordhandling?"
At his next statements she layed a gentle hand on his shoulder and tightened her hold momentarily in a standard gesture of understanding. Her voice and eyes darkened slightly as well adn she spoke in a soft whisper,"How well I now that...the minds of all creatures can turn to darkness so quickly." She sighed and then noticed she still had her hand on his shoulder. She whipped it off and clasped it to her burning cheeks. "I-I am sorry if that was forward of me Arnose..."
As they finished traveling to the top of hills in companiable silence, she hoped it was anyway for she so liked Arnose adn didn't want to ruin the friendship, she stopped and gasped lightly her blue-gray eyes widening, "Oh my...this is beautiful." She turned towards Arnose and smiled at him, "Thank-you for this sight, this in itself makes the journey worthwhile. Of course making a friend made it worthwhile as well. Do you have to report now by yourself?" Ireth spoke quietly, "I wouldn't want to be in your way and I could always Wander...it's certainly something I'm used to, but yes I can't wait for you to show me this view of yours, I'm sure it will be breath-taking." Her thoughts swirled around her mind, 'I wonder now that he is here if he will even want to talk with me...I I can't be much of a companion, but he was so nice. He has chivalry that I've not seen in this world of late...' She shook her head slightly but smiled none the less, masking her thougths.
