If You Were Dead Or Still Alive

The Neverending War

Oh yeah, I'm so going there.

Welcome to the present. The "war" between Vampires and Werewolves has been going on for as long as anyone can remember, and, of course, no one remembers what started it.

Time to pick a side and battle it out.

I Don't Care
PostPosted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 4:10 am

Ground Rules.

1. STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
-- We've all seen Underworld, no? Vampires have evolved beyond garlic and holy water, but sunlight and UV rays are still not very good friends. As for Werewolves, touching silver itself doesn't hurt, but touching it to a cut, open wound, or having a silver bullet lodged in your body is extremely painful.
-- Slightly (and I'm only stressing this once) intensified muscle strength. Both races have a heightened sense of smell and hearing. Vampires can see in any light, no matter what. Werewolves can only see in the dark when transformed.

2. HALFBREEDS No. You'll die. If a vampire is bitten by a werewolf, and doesn't get the wound cleaned out within an hour, that vampire will die. Same with werewolves.

3. KILLING Though yes, this is essentially a war/fighting roleplay, one can only kill with the other persons consent.

4. Who's Winning Here? To make things eternally simple and so we don't drag on and on (and also to avoid godmodding), when you are challenged, you will each roll dice. Message me if you're not sure how to do this. Whomever gets the highest number will win the fight.

5. Triv is goddess. If you're being a little b***h, I'm gonna slap you with a trout as a warning. Keep it up, and I'll ban you from the thread, maybe the guild if you aggravate me enough. I also reserve the right to add and update rules.

: A tall slender figure swept through an ally way in the middle of the night. His eyes darting from left to right as he thundered down the dirt path between rows of houses. As he reached the sidewalk he halted and turned about a full 360 degrees. He peered up and down, and looked towards every crevice made by trees, bushes, and the corners of houses. He groaned without thinking and turned and continued down the alley across the street. Halfway down he jumped over a fence and only picked up speed when a motion sensor like picked up his movements, "Damnit." He slid into a hiding spot in the shadows of a garage. "Come on... Not much farther and daylight will be coming soon. I'll have to work out my hunting schedule a lot better next time." He said to himself in a panting whisper. He looked down and focused again, he'd left a spare change of clothes at home and had ruined the ones he had on previously after a transformation. He looked up and across the street, three more blocks to go and only a few minutes. The bell of a bike set him off, the paper boy was riding by. He stopped all motion, breathing, and waited till the boy had passed. Once he knew the coast was clear he darted across the street, into the next few rows of houses, setting motion lights off left and right, and finally came to a stop at an apartment building. He fumbled with the main door finding it was locked and groaned again. He looked around and made sure the other lights were off and no one was awake. He scaled the three story building and came to the far right window in the top corner. He slid it up and climbed in breathing a sigh of relief as the sun began to rise on the horizon. He found a new set of clothes, and a good pair of shoes. He had work in a couple of hours and he needed to settle down, his adrenaline had gone up just a bit.

A loud roar rumbled through the narrow streets just a few moments before a motorcycle and its helmeted rider flew past. Had one been paying much attention to her, one would've noticed the once-white shirt she wore was stained red, and her neck and arms were covered in the red goo as well.

But no one was up at this hour. At least, no one mortal. Raide and her bike squealed to a stop in front of a large wrought-ironed gate. She hopped off for a moment, brushing some of the ivy away from the side of the gate and punching in a few numbers into the keycode. The gate swung open and the rider and her motorcycle zoomed in. It closed after them.

The girl parked in front of the doors of a large house. It wasn't quite mansion-size, but the wealth of the owners was well displayed anyway. It was obviously an old house, with ivy crawling up the sides of the stone walls all the way to the third floor.

The sun was starting to peak over the trees. Killing the bike, the girl dashed inside, slamming the door shut behind her. Steam rose from her skin as she leaned against the oak door. Her chest heaved as she tried to calm herself down, then she gagged as the smell of her own slightly-roasted flesh reached her nostrils. I need to stop cutting it so close... she scolded herself, reaching up and removing her helmet. Snowy white hair cascaded down onto her shoulders as she shook out her mane.

"You were almost late," a male voice called from the staircase. Raide glanced up. "You're a mess, too. I hope you at least disposed of the body this time."

"I even left a nice note for her family," she answered sarcastically. "She was an old lady. Tasted like cats." Raide made a face and Wilhelm laughed.

"Go on and get cleaned up, you," he said, leaving his post at the top of the staircase and disappearing into the adjacent hallway. "And get that shirt into the wash."

"Aye aye, sire." Raide smirked.

: He sat quietly in his apartment's kitchen watching the sunrise through the window. He looked at his kitchen clock and sighed. Standing up he went to clothes he'd laid out, picking them up on the way to his bathroom. He showered quickly, spending the longest on his hair as blood still matted it for an odd reason. Once done he toweled off and got dressed, brushing his teeth then exiting the bathroom running a brush through his hair. He found a ponytail holder and pulled his hair back into a ponytail of the center of the back of his head. He grabbed his wallet and keys and exited the apartment.

As he reached the main entrance, after moving down the three flights of stairs, he unlocked it from the inside, exited, and turned back around locking it and then the storm door again.

He headed down the street looking around, faint dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleep in the last two nights. Something about this city plagued him now, something that kind of sent shivers down his spine when he hunted in the middle of the nights. He could only shrug off the possibilities and continue his leisurely hour and a half stroll to work which would still get him there half an hour early. Enough time to watched the morning java heads stroll in and cause chaos for his manager and coworkers before he would show himself ten minutes before time to clock in when the rush died down. He always got a laugh about the mixed up orders and arguments.

Raide trundled up to her room. Wilhelm and his family had been more than courteous to her in the past year or so, providing her with shelter, protection, and the wisdom that came with being an ancient family. She wasn't sure just how old Wilhelm was, much less his parents.

Will basked in the glory of stereotypicalization. He wore the poofy, poets' shirts and tight leather pants that were the staple of the romantic vampire's attire. Said shirts were usually left open to expose his bare and muscular chest, and the cross-shaped burn-scar that adorned the left side of said chest. Raide was curious, but smart enough to not ask about it. She knew that the older vampires, those older than a millenia, were typically not immune to the holy effects of such objects. Wilhelm's hair was long and dark, straight and dangling about his face. And of course, his eyes were an icy blue.

After a nice bath (bubbles and all), Raide made sure her soiled clothes were tossed into the laundry chute. Her shirt had already gone hard with the crusted blood. She really should learn some table manners. She was such a messy eater.

She then went downstairs, into the library where Will was sure to be. Of all the pleasures of the world, he loved reading the most. And the Internet had proven to be quite a blessing. In another life, a mortal life, Raide could picture the German man tucked away in a university library, square reading glasses slipping down his nose as he poured over an ancient manuscript. Of course, his immortal heritage removed the need for glasses, and the manuscript he poured over now was made of pixels instead of parchment. But he was still attractive nonetheless.

"I saw something interesting tonight," she said, her voice soft so as not to startle him too much.

"Really?" he said, obviously not paying her much attention.

"Mhm..." She walked along the side of one of the shelves behind him. "I thought I'd seen it last night as well, but tonight I was sure of it. There're wolves in town. At least one, that I know of."

"You're not surprised are you?"

"Hardly. But with one, there's always more. You know that as well as I do."

"You think a pack of wolves would show up in town without my parents noticing?" he asked, leaning back in his chair to look at her. She smirked at his upside-down inquiring look and pushed him forward before he hurt himself. The front legs of his chair landed on the carpet with a soft thunk and he was jolted forward slightly.

"I'm saying that we should be watching carefully to make sure they don't show up without us noticing."

[[Forgive my epicly long posts. They'll eventually get shorter.

For those who care... I "loosely" based Wilhelm's appearance off of Jean Claude from the Anita Blake graphic novels. Those who know of them... D: Don't kill me. I'm not basing his character off him. Obviously. Jean Claude is French. Will is German. And not a womanizer. For the most part.
