Well as you can see by the name of the guild I absoluly love the graphic novel Warchmen. I think that it is the best book that I have ever read. THere is so much to it and gives a person so much to think about. And for the people that like that stuff there is a book out now on the philosophy of Watchmen.........I have it. And then the movie is coming out. I cannot wait to see it but I doubt it will put justice to the book. So I recommend that you read it.

I loved the whole book but my favorite chapter is 4 by a long shot........it made me think a lot and it was just amazing and really deep. Even if it did make me depressed for a bit when I first read it.

Did you ever read Les Miserables by Victor Hugo there is a character named Javert that is the same way. But Dr. Manhattan is my favorite character its unusual but he seemd the most interesting to me.

no havnt read it sounds familiar thou i just like rorschach cuz i love the idea of brutal everything-or-nothing vigilanteism its so simple cuz its just: if u commit a crime, u die, no compensation, as rorschach says life would be so simple if authorities operated that way obviously ther wud be a few accidents, but criminals would quickly get the message: make an honest living or else

idk i think to many innocent people would get killed so that might end up badly but Dr. Manhattan thinks through things but he is sorta self centered but that can be blamed due to how diffrent he is compared to everyone else

I must agree with you. People like Rorschach cuz' he was one of the first brutal heroes. He set the path down for spawn and more. I think the movie did some justice for the book. But, i think the movie ending was more genius than the book's. But, Dr. Manhattan is amazing because he is cold and calculating.

The book is great and I agree I think the movie did the book justice. Still though just can't get over Rorschach. I know he is favored by most people and maybe that is why he had to go crying . Rorschach not only feels that all evil must be punished but people find him wrong still! Just like how things are today. Anyways, Dr. Manhattan is just thinking logically like any blue immortal scientist would. Any way I look at it Veidt is a douche no matter what he said he was trying to accomplish. He just doesn't understand that peace on earth only lasts for so long.

RanDOm_ChicK01111 Did you ever read Les Miserables by Victor Hugo there is a character named Javert that is the same way. But Dr. Manhattan is my favorite character its unusual but he seemd the most interesting to me. Ahh! This caught my eye, sorry for quoting! sweatdrop I'm writing an essay on Les Mis at the moment, and have had to hold back from comparing Javert to Rorschach because apparently Watchmen "isn't academic enough." (Hurm...) I think the reason people fall for Rorschach so often is because of his righteous anger; despite his questionable methods, he is ultimately fighting for the good of innocent people and against the corrupt. And adding to that, he's a victim. When the story focuses on his past, you feel sympathetic towards him and understand what it is that has driven him so much further over the edge than most of the other central characters. His appearance plays a part in this I think; when his mask is removed, we don't expect (when we first read/see it!) to see someone so lacking in heroic appearance, someone so wholly unlike the handsome heroes we've come to expect from comics/graphic novels. Or that's what I think, anyhow! whee

I thik that this graphic novel is great because it displays the one truth we all ignore. PEOPLE ARE THE ONLY IMPERFECTION IN EARTH.

Where could I get this really? I looked in my local library but....that didn't work. What about Barns and Noble? That's my next stop for it.
