In past moments Betina liked to pride herself on surviving any situation without fail. Though, lately that confidence was dwindling much faster then she had imagined. Her skill of advocating and handling her siblings was becoming weaker and less effective, and her energy to keep everyone connected was falling lower in proportion. To put it frank, sometimes she just felt bleh. And today was one of those days, at least for the moment. She had tried to talk to her brother, and the discussion was a stiff one. She felt as though nothing actually got accomplished, and that was a frustrating feeling.
For now she was off and in an unfamiliar forest. Her mind was so clouded and busy that she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. And, when she did finally look up to see where she'd been walking, she finally concluded that she was very lost and past her usual areas. Most soquili would probably get nervous from such a realization. But, Betina was sort of enjoying the sudden rush of the unknown. She always worked so hard to keep herself well grounded and overly aware of everything, and now she could finally just wander and BE lost.
She chuckled lightly as a thought struck her mind. Was this a mental sign or something? Did she really need such a change?
Ah well, it was no matter. With light steps forward she continued to walk along the forest's trail and take in the new atmosphere as best as she could. She had no idea where she was going. And honestly, if she felt nervous she could just turn around and find her way! But for now she wouldn't. She wanted to feel some adventure for herself for once.

Time marched on, and it wasn't long at all before Luca's sides were bulging. She was vaguely puzzled by how large she was so early. She couldn't recall being so round the last two times. However, her 'fatness' didn't faze her at all. Luca was the sort of mare that reveled in the natural process of pregnancy and birth. To her it was a delight and a pleasure.
So it was that she was taking her ease in a warm and sunny meadow, grazing sedately. It took much grazing these days to keep her well fed. This set of babies seemed quite demanding in their need for sustenance. The sun felt so good on her back, which tended to ache these days. Perhaps it was evidence of her aging, though she hated to think about it that way. Still, this pregnancy definitely was harder on her body than the ones before.
A notable glow tended to emenate from her when she was with foal. It wasn't anything you could quite put your finger on, but definitely a fact. She simply pulsed with good health, with a glossy coat, bright eyes, and her mane and tail silky as warm water. The sun brought extra gleam to her purple flanks, and made her pale stripes flash softly as if they could move all on their own. The colors in her hair rippled and melded, creating ever-changing cascades of color.
In short, she was a sight to see, all alone in the bright green of the meadow. You would have half expected to see clusters of butterflies swirling about her, or fluffy rabbits hopping innocently about her hooves. However, she was indeed solitary, grazing steadily in a random ambling manner in the thickly growing grass.

Her mind became more relaxed with each step she took. The forest's silence was somehow soothing and above her she could only hear some birds chirping lightly. Somehow, she'd forgotten how wonderful true silence was. It seemed amongst her family it was a rare commodity, and even in her own daily life it was much scarcer. But, for now she could at least enjoy it. The forest was inviting her to follow it's trail, and she walked at a comfortable pace and watched all of the trees with light interest.
There was a sudden change of landscape that came about rather quickly, and she looked forward and saw some trees thinning out and leading to what looked like a grove. Had she found a secret spot in the forest? In truth she only expected to see tons of trees but the opening was a nice change of plans. She wasn't picky in her natural requests, and she felt compelled to enter whatever meadow stood in front of her. When she finally made it to the opening her eyes widened from what she saw.
A purple mare stood off and in the distance. Her coat was radiant and lovely, and her hair was a curl that even she couldn't pull off. There was something else about the mare that kept Betina's eyes directly on her tummy. She wondered, could this mare be pregnant? Her stomach had a glow that Betina had never seen before. Plus, it was much bigger than her own!
The mare looked content in her own peaceful moment, and Betina was skeptical to interrupt. She decided to walk into the meadow and keep her pace slow and her actions quiet. As she grew closer to the other mare, a smile became wider on her own face. When it came to the presence of others, she couldn't help but be interested. Especially with the beautiful mare she had found in this moment... she just had to meet her!
"Good day!" she finally said with a cheerful tone. To avoid startling the mare she left some distance between them, since she had to determine if the mare wanted company.

Raising her head in an unflustered manner, Luca smiled at the newcomer. Company was always welcome, but as she inspected the little mare, little things about her seemed familiar. Oh, it was clear they hadn't met before, but those markings were quite familiar to the purple mare. Perhaps this young one had a certain red stallion in her lineage? Keeping such speculation to herself, Luca swished her tail comfortably and replied amiably.
"Indeed it is! Would you care to join me for a graze?" She took a step and snatched another mouthful. "It isn't sweetgrass, but it does a good job filling the belly. I can't seem to fill mine enough for these littles ones." With a wry smile she swung her nose around to tap her bulging belly. "It seems they are quite insistent on growing up big and strong." She flashed another smile at the smaller mare. "What might your name be? I am Luca, and I'd love to introduce you to my youngest set of foals, but they are feeling just a bit shy still." Another glance back at her belly just as the skin visibly moved from the life within stirring.
Whomever she was, the little mare certainly seemed bright-eyed and friendly. Luca felt quite at ease with her, which was rather enjoyable, since mostly the only female company she had was that of her own offspring. Being who she was, Luca tended to spend more time with the male of her species than the female. Even so, girl talk was nothing to sneeze at, and sometimes she craved it.

The mare's energy was enough to bring Betina closer and her radiant voice brought a comforting feeling to her ears. She was quiet and attentive as the other mare spoke, and she grinned while staring down at the belly that attracted her in the first place! Wow, so Luca really was pregnant? Betina stared in awe and wondered who the lucky stallion was. "Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, Luca." she finally said, while considering taking some grass as well. "I'm Betina, and thank you for inviting me into this grove!"
She then lowered her head and sniffed at the fresh grass the other spoke of. Without further ado she nibbled at it lightly and brought her smiley face back towards the other mare's. When she finished swallowing her morsel, she felt a wave or energy arrive from her tummy. "So Luca, you have other children besides the little ones coming? I can imagine the entire ordeal as very exciting!" Betina had watched as her siblings found mates and had children themselves, and the idea never really happened in her own life-plan. Though, it wasn't like she was erasing it out or anything. She'd just never had the same sort of experiences that others had.
When she quieted herself she noticed something incredibly familiar about the mare now that she was up-close. Her shade of purple was certainly memorable, and she wondered who'd she seen with a similar brightness. The beauty Luca held was also extremely familiar, and Betina found herself staring for many moments before finally correcting herself and realizing. "Oh my! I hope I'm not coming off as rude. But you really are quite lovely in color, my eyes seem to be greedy at the moment." She giggled then and shook her mane out in delight.

Luca's ears swiveled forward immediately when the young mare gave her name. Aha! Something clicked into place with her lovely black-tipped curls. She'd never seen the girl certainly, but she knew now where she got certain traits. She grazed beside her new companion and let her chatter on a bit, not even minding Betina's staring gaze. Once it seemed she had wound down, Luca smiled gently at her.
"Yes, I have other children... four of them!" She grinned sideways as she nipped an itch on her foreleg. In fact, two of them are your sister and brother." She dropped this little nugget of trivia nonchalantly, as if she'd known all along that this was one of Guilian's youngest set. "Amary and Leon, though I imagine you might know Amary better than her brother." It was entirely possible that she might not know Luca's fiesty daughter, but it seemed likelier that she did.
"Do you like foals?" she asked additionally. Most fillies did, after all, and this one seemed bright and energetic enough to certainly fit the bill. Perhaps she could snag Betina for some help once the foals arrived. After all, Cassiel already had Atreus and Ecclesia to chase after. More foals would certainly make things... interesting at the very least.

Betina wanted to fall over from Luca's statements. Wait wait wait wait wait! But really, when she actually thought about it, it all made sense now! Amary's glow came from THIS mare, plus her daddy! Wow! So it really was true. "Well my gosh, it is an honor to meet you all over again." Betina had never asked her father about his personal life, since he was always busy babying her and her other siblings. Now she seriously regretted that choice! "I can see why my father adores you so much." She already knew that Luca was stunning, and her personality was an added bonus!
"Sadly I've never met Leon." she then admitted, while trying to imagine what he may be like. "But Amary always brings a vibrant energy in everything we do together. She's very fun and playful, and is always encouraging me to flirt with stallions and such." Ah well, that sort of lifestyle wasn't her cup of tea. But she enjoyed giggling and watching while Amary worked her magic. She was an artist of sorts, and Amary was seriously a memorable experience for any new face that was interested!
"And I love foals." she then said with a somewhat surprised voice. "I actually raised a basket I found a few seasons ago. It was completely unexpected for me, but I could never leave a child sitting on it's own like that. I saw this bright blue basket hidden alongside a huge oak tree. I waited for many hours to see if someone would arrive, and no one did." It was awful, really. How could someone abandon their child! Betina just couldn't understand some creatures. "And I suppose I could consider Roxy my daughter, though she's much to stubborn to call me mother." It had been ages since she'd seen Roxy, now that she was all grown up and independent. But, the time she spent with that girl was amazing. Betina wouldn't have changed it for the world. "So, are you hoping for any specific genders this time around?" Since, some parents were always interested on that sort of ordeal!

Luca listened with surprise as the young mare explained about mothering a foal already. Well! This was quite a turn of events. The purple mare would not have pegged her for having had sucha a life-changing experience as yet, but that just went to show you that appearances and even first impressions can leave much to be desired in accuracy.
She chuckled and shook her head a bit at the question. "Well, I have three boys and one girl, so another girl would be nice, but I have learned that gender doesn't really matter. Each child is fulfilling in his or her own way, and nothing could ever make me regret what genders or even personalities I was blessed with." She shifted in mild discomfort as the crowded space in her womb was challenged by energetic movements within.
She opened her mouth to continue the pleasant conversation when a sudden jab in her lungs made her grunt aloud. Pinning her ears almost playfully, she turned her head and said directly at her rounded tummy, "Pipe down in there!" She returned her gaze to Betina, laughter dancing in her eyes. "With as much movement as I've got, I suspect I'm carrying more boys." Which reminded her of when Tobias had been a colt, nothing but a ball of restless energy in constant motion. He'd given her ribs quite the workout with his kicks and rolls while yet unborn.
With some effort, she focused again on the young mare. She smiled warmly, thinking of how interesting it was to finally feel some of what Gulian felt towards her own children. The pretty little mare wasn't of her own blood, but Luca felt a strong maternal sense of affection and caring for her. Perhaps she should have sought out Guilian's brood sooner.
"So tell me, Betina, what is it you treasure in life? What is important to you?" She knew it was a rather wide and also rather probing question, but frankly Luca was curious. Her own children were raised to deeply value family and love, and also to savor their freedom, whether they used it to choose to stay close to home, or to wander the wild wilderness and taste the weet nectar of the delight of adventure.

Betina wanted to lunge forward when Luca seemed to be in pain, but she soon realized the mare was alright when her smile returned. Although Betina had never experienced pregnancy, she knew enough about it to always be aware and helpful. Her breath returned again when Luca started talking about having boys, and she giggled lightly while leaning in to try and listen to her stomach. "My my, they seem to be eager to come out!" Hopefully they wouldn't cause Luca any more discomfort. But, sadly children didn't know about what their mother's went through until they were older. So really, all mothers were angels for never complaining too much!
When Betina had moved away from Luca and was looking at her again, she was surprised to hear the questions she asked. Hmm, her treasure? She had many treasures and things that were important to her, so she supposed she was lucky! But, it also seemed like Luca had asked her to elaborate on what really was most important. All Betina had was a cheesy answer, and she really couldn't help herself. Her family was everything to her, they were all she had. They'd love her no matter what, and that was Betina's favorite detail about it all.
"I'd have to say my family. I may be too attached to them, but they really are my treasures. I try to take care of them as much as I can, and do everything for them. It's my joy to make sure they are all just as comfortable and happy as they should be." she smiled warmly while thinking about it and knew Luca was also connected in terms of family. That was even more exciting for her!
"Now that I've met you, I can add you on to my list of treasures." she then admitted, while bowing her head solemnly. Maybe with time she would learn about other treasures in the world, but for now she was most grateful! "How about for you, Luca? I am interested to hear what is most important for you!" She was expecting something similar, but she was excited to hear whatever it was the mare would say. There was something very wise about Luca, and Betina felt refreshed when she listened to her speak!
