User Image Second fluffed her feathers up a bit more as she felt the rain trickling down between her feathers. It had been raining a few days now, most of the time her dark corner was dry but it had been so wet that even in her corner it was damp, wet and enough to chill a bird to her bones.

The witch felt a little forgotten, she was a terrible recluse, one of the invisible members of Bakers flock, rarely leaving the roost, but still Usually someone came to her wit an item.. the last she remembered was months ago.. now..

How long had it been, far, far to long. And a deep ache had begun to bother her in her tail feathers. Not from loneliness but something.. something a little more sinister.

This was not good.

Looking down into the pools the rain was making on the cobble path below the bridge she watched the droplets fall. Something caught her eye. A sparkle, a shimmer? Definutly a distraction.
Old habits died hard and she stretched her wings readying for a closer look. Maybe a human had dropped something new off the bridge.
Down she swooped to the cobbles, next to the puddle, but no trinket or bauble presented itself.. only a puddle.

But there was the flash again, enough to make the witch look closer into the pool, in its murky depth she saw a flash, and a vision presented itself, a series of visions actualy, few making sense to her. Few, except one.. the feeling of pain an dread.

She backed away from the scrying puddle, something bad was coming.. something that .. that would what?
She shook her head, unable to rid herself of this dread and feeling quite alone. She looked around quickly, the shadows now presenting less friendliness to her than they once did, she shivered then took off into the rain, Unsure of where she was going.. just.. Getting away...

Something had definitely caught Yield on Green's attention and it was certainly something out of the ordinary. She did not see her daughter, or U-Turn, or even Pride for that matter (as he would be the one she would usually accuse if there were lots of random movements at strange times, 'cos his little chickadees could certainly cause a problem and she did not exactly forget that painful crack on the noggin that she had received from the red and white one).

Instead of the usual faces and feathers, she saw a different flock member out in this unforgiving, cold and wet weather, and she appeared rather distressed. Although the other pidge was probably just as old as Yield, if not older, and a complete stranger (although they resided in the same flock), she felt what could be called motherly instincts. She wanted to comfort the frightened pidge and launched herself from her large, fluffy nest.

"Ma'am? Ma'am, are you alright?" She called as she swiftly flew after the female.

((Its ORP open role-play, Got a pidge to play? Bring em on in. Second's a reclusive bird.. to reclusive.. I'm bringing her outta her dark corner.))

Out of the rain Second heard the call. At first this frightened her more and she flapped erratically for a moment, before she zeroed in on where the call came from and the concern in the voice straining to be herd in the windy rain. Her distressed mind homed in on the worried voice and she instinctively flew towards it.

A second thought told her she was being silly, panicking like that. But her intuitions and instincts kept her on edge, suppressing that thought, and even as she flew towards the flock mate who showed worry for her she was on edge.

"I'm.. I'm alright. I just saw something at my roost that.. I couldn't stay there. It.. I, panicked, I didn't know where else to go." she said into the rain at the bird flying towards her.

The chilly rain had Yield on Green longing for what warmth and dryness her own nest would offer her, but she felt she couldn't just leave this panicked flockmate to catch a cold out in this unforgiving weather. The rain and wind threatened to blow her off course and she had to struggle to keep near Second.

"Listen, you'll catch your death out here!" She called over the wind that threatened to toss her light body into some wall or sign or post. "You want to rest at my nest for a while? The overhang keeps it nice and shielded from the wind and rain. There are other nests there, too, so we won't be all that alone."

User Image The stars had been what Umleitung had considered 'on edge' tonight. The sky's layout was too much for him to ignore, even if his health was at stake. The rain made him look like a sewer rat so he was proud that no one could see. Soon the silence was broken by something or someone nearby. Out of the corner of his star-strained eyes Umleit saw two pidge, chilled to the bone he figured. "The stars can wait another night. I can't let these two ladies travel in the rain and ketch a cold" He didn't realize how hypocritical he sounded.

Umleitung flew within hearing range and called out, "Hello. Are you two in need of assistance?" He called, showing that he had star maps that could be used as umbrellas. He didn't care if the ink ran off the pages. Umleit thought the distress on the Seraphim's face was just caused because of the cold rain. Oh, how naive he was.

Second st. shivered a moment and startled a bit as a second pidge came out of the weather to aid her and her fellow flock mate. The shiver and start was less due to the weather and more to do with her anxiety.

But these were flock mates, and ones trying to help at that. They were both looking about as bad as she felt. She nodded to her first rescuer "A..a dry perch sounds like an excellent Idea. Maybe all three of us should go..." she said into the rain and ducked her head under a offered star map, giving the the Stargazer a thankful look. " Thank You both of you." The company of others was slowly calming her, getting her nerves under control.

Her dread was still there but it seamed less imminent, like a cat below your perch but not able to get near you yet.

Her eyes noted what was over her head and she looked again at the Stargazer, noteing his far more drenched look. She wasn't the only one seeing portents tonight, she decided when they had moved somewhere where they could talk she had to ask this one what he had been seeing.

Yield accepted one of the maps and wore a most grateful look on her face as she used it to shield the rain from herself.

"Thank you, sir! Right, you come with us, okay? We're getting out of the rain. My nest is just right over there and the bridge overhang will keep us nice 'n dry 'n safe from the wind!" She cooed as loud as she could over the wind and rain, then quickly darted towards the ledge she had indicated to the two.

She didn't know their names, even though she was aware they were all apart of the same flock, but not knowing names didn't matter. Besides, she would learn them and properly introduce herself once they were all safe.

"Thank you mam. Yes yes the quicker the better. We wouldn't want a cold to ketch any of us in his territory" Umleitung said. He was trying to be witty and speak with a metaphor, but the weather and the stars had his mind too caught up to be as clever as he would have hoped.

He followed them to the overhang. The whole scenario seemed dream-like. The scene was gloomy and the shadows threw off normal perception. Not to mention the two ladies' inks and white feathers seemed to stand out and glow against the shadowy sky. Why did he feel so strange? Being a man he wasn't used to vibes so he was baffled.

Despite his new awareness of the emotions drifting through the air, Umleitung ignored it and concerned himself with helping these ladies with whatever the trouble may be.

Second followed close to the pidge who's nest was near by. Or at least as close as she could in this weather. As they neared the roost she couldn't help darting looks into the shadows again though. Remembering what had scared her into the rain in the first place, for a second.
It was only the presence of the other two that kept her from seeking open space again.

She landed beside the leading pidge and shook her feathers *mostly her tail* a moment to dry them and try and shake her fearful feelings. " That's a lot better. Your roost is far dryer than mine in this weather, and a bit brighter too." she noted, The light here was more defused and what shadows there were were not as deep as her edge roost. "Thank you." she said again, grateful to this flock mate who had brought her into her home. She looked back the way they came hopeful the stargazer had followed.

Umleitung flopped up onto the ledge of the overhang like a fish out of water. He shook himself off a bit before coming in. "Nice, safe, and warm now. Your home is a santuary Mrs. Yield on Green. I belive that is your name. You see I'm a friend of a friend of Pebble and the resemblance seems to be in your kind eyes. I do hope I'm right, if not I probably sound like a fool," he said.

He felt bad to run off without getting a straight answer but he remembered that since it was raining soon the clouds may cover up the sky completely. The stars would be left smothered by a cloudy blanket and their stories wouldn't be heard. "None the less I really should be off. The stars aren't taking to kindly to the world tonight. I'd feel relieved that you're out of the cold but something's stopping me." He began saying to the Seraphim, "Is anything the matter?" If the answer was yes he decided in his head he would stay, which really was the politer thing to do.

"Glad I could help you both." She cooed softly and gave a sharp nod of her pale feathered head. Her beak was turned in a soft smile as she shook her own feathers and preened her wings systematically.

"Pebble? Yes,s he's my daughter, so you are correct. I'm Yield on Green, but it is a bit of a beakful, so you can call me Yield, if it suits you. What are the stars saying?" She couldn't help but to be at least a little bit curious. the flock that she came from, long before Pebble had grown into the beautiful, smart adult she was now, had been a very superstitious one.

"Alright then, I can call you Yield. My name's Umleitung. But to save you from a tongue twister you can call me Um... Detour," Umleitung said. When he said "Um" he was about to say Ummi, the nickname his friends pester him with. He wished to be called anything but Ummi.

"Well the stars are clustering brightest directly above this point in the city. That's why I'm here. It's almost as if they pulled me here to show me something or someone. Another thing I noted was that a meteor shower is beginning beside the constellation of a hell-hound. The constellation itself is a sign of bad luck. The stars within it are so dim it can rarely be seen," Ummi said, "But the stars have done their job. Now if only I could find out what they were trying to show me."
