So the list of skill sets you gave me is as follows:
Fighting Lore Survival Building Crafting
i was working on a standard set of skills the other day and it hit me.... why is building its own set?
im sure we can BS a reason and maybe even find different things to throw in there that will grant better buildings or more options.

Ok so im thinking im gonna go hunting for the UO skill list and use that as a base i have things written out but i think a more solid base might help

Ha i found a skill list from UO tho its with all the newer s**t, if somebody wants to find an older one for me that would rock
In a skill based fantasy type game this more or less works tho some of these i would drop yadda yadda, this will be my base for the skill list i need to make

ok soooo this is the rough idea i have going on in some part i know its rough and i know its missing stuff, ILL GET TO IT, but feel free to drop ideas

Id like to see players build their own city’s and i want to give them something to fight for and reasons to band together against one another and the world around them.
The skill based system allows people more freedom to play a character that feels truly unique, i know there will always be power gamers, and there will always be the elite but in skill based all are equal when striped of friends and gear.
I would like to give players the ability to form a "family" in game witch will live in what ever home they have and thru a process i haven't figured out yet the ability to have a child or two, this allows me to add a "hardcore" setting a form of perma death where you will become your child after death, the child will have a skill set based on the parent but will have to be built back to full (wouldn't want to give super children lol) this also allows one to "retire" an older character and start a new one with a head start ** this also gives the players one more thing to fight for, where one may fight to protect his family another may be raiding a town to steal a child, or to kill off a well know characters family. this plays into the realm of heavy player politics.
I don’t want any given area to be "perfect" this means players will have to trade or steal to get whats needed to build their city's up
this is faction PVP where the factions are all player based... hell bounty's will be around for all time so its open season, but somebody will always hunt you

Tweezle I am stealing your skills list to look over at my leisure... lol thats what its here for, its a good base just take some things out or change some things and it should work for pretty much anything lol

I'm half-arsedly working on an RPG idea on a whim at the moment, and couldn't think of a list of skills I wanted to use. Then I saw this thread, and I was all 'Woo! Stuff to steal!' so I borrowed it.
I'll reciprocate and post my finalized skill list when I'm done, though. :3

Active: Athletics, Might, Crafting, Survival, Guile, Performance, Investigation, Appraisal, Spellcraft, Healing, Binding, Warding, Thievery, Trapsetting, Acrobatics, Problem Solving
Passive: Force, Endurance, Audacity, Resistance, Charm, Moxie, Knowledge, Logic, Focus, Courage, Insight, Intuition, Evasion, Balance, Alertness, Tactics.

Changed one out. Trapping technically falls under Thievery (IMO) or Survival (and I'll likely include variants of both in the full descriptions), and Tracking is more logical for that particular main stat. Idea was that each Primary attribute would have 8 skills, split up between it's two Secondary attributes. There'd be two Active, and two Passive skills per Secondary attributes. Still working out a proper Skill system. I might make it a Point Investment, with each class getting a linear investment so that they don't feel like they're getting too boned by being A and not B. Especially with such a limited skill set.
