When the twilight craze first started, i began reading t, and it was good for a wile. then, half way through twilight, my best friend turned into a f****n b***h and became a screaming rabid fan girl for edward, THEN EVERY BODY AT MY SCHOOL DID THE SAME THING! EVEN THE GUYS! *puts on a fake high pitch voice* Edward, we love edward! any one who dosent isnt cool! *normal voice* SHUT UP!!!!!

now they are starting to do that at my school to! started yesterday. GOD I HATE IT!

*using fake fangirl voice* everybody loves twilight...*normal voice * EVEN MY PARENTS AND SISTERS!!!

I had a friend who was into Twilight in 9th grade. I asked her about it because she loved the book. Not like super crazy fan girl, but she loved it. She explained parts of it to me, and the second she said 'the vampires sparkle in the sun' I was slightly mortified. I love the romanticized vampires of lore. So, before even considering reading the book, I read some people's opinions on it. Normal people and critics alike.

I never read the book because of most of the reviews it got, and skimming a small chapter. It was lower than my level.

And now, we have a Twi-tard. It's frightening. I asked her why she liked it, she said it was because Edward Cullen was sexy. I showed her a picture of Alucard from Hellsing, she scoffed him off.

Alucard could beat Edward's rear end any old day.

It just totally upsets me that I waited for all of the books to come out then like, what was it?.....after the THIRD book everybody thought it was all the rage. My best friend was practically the first one that discovered it and she let me borrow it, I fell in love with the books, knowing that they were going to make a movie out of it and kill it. I always have all of the books with me at school, knowing that there's going to be at least one person wanting to borrow and read them....I just hate that after they get crappy actors and actresses to play the parts in the movie, EVERYBODY falls inlove with it. Like I said I had to wait for every book to come out after Twilight, now that's a true fan, and a true fan is also, knowing that they're going to make a movie out of it, and not wanting them to....


That's my personal experiance and opinion on the books.

Thank you, Naya, for bringing up the vampire in myth and story. It seems to me that one of the biggest arguments people have for the vampires being sparkly pansies is that vampires don't exist.

Well, neither do werewolves or zombies.

But each creature has it's own set behaviors and appearances. In every werewolf story, it's a person turning into a wolf under the circumstance of seeing the moon. The appearances vary from gray wolf like to bipedal and demonic. But the werewolf's existence is always linked to either a bite, scratch, or some demonic ritual.

Zombies are always undead monsters. They can be slow or fast. But they always eat human flesh. Also, the zombie-ism comes from a disease, virus, or some kind of experimentation gone wrong. Or maybe some kind of flawed curse or spell.

Why the vampire gets singled out in all Twilight arguments and treated differently is irritating in its own. Yes, vampires aren't real. But it's been made obvious that vampires are demonic, fanged beings that burn in the sun, unless there is some kind of exception. Both myth and writing always portray a vampire as such a being.

So yes, a vampire doesn't exist. Yes, an author has the right to a creative license. But just because they don't exist doesn't mean there aren't already rules in place for the species.

Sorry, but it aggravates me when people believe these creatures have to go by the rules. Did you ever consider that witches (or wizards) are "supposed" to be evil and ugly? But in Harry Potter, witches/wizards are portrayed as both good and evil, often good looking--mostly good, as they do trump the "evil." In the beginning, witches and wizards were hallmarked as evil, with their own sets of rules. But somewhere along the line, some authors realized that if they kept sticking by the rules, it would be come unimaginative/unoriginal clap trap. Yeah, Meyer's stuff is clap trap, but at least she diverged from the vampire norm.
