It was a bright sunny day, and Bos Forrest was thriving with life and full of noise and rustling leaves from the creatures that flitted about. Through the canopy, the cloudless bright blue sky could be seen, and the sun shone through the branches of the highest limbs, to reach the dark depths of the forrest floor. Pools of light dotted here and there along the bed of the forrest.
Roxy scurried along a tree branch at top speed. She was incredibly nimble and agile and kept her balance quite easily. She reached the end of the branch and leapt towards the next tree, grabbing hold of a branch with her front paws, pulling her bottom half up. She kept going, full speed, the jump not even affecting her concentration. She'd done it millions of times by now, it was second nature.
Why was she running, one might ask? No reason. She just liked the feel of the wind in her fur. She ran past a hole in the trunk of a tree and thought she saw eyes glowing ins ide. "Non-sense," she thought. She quickly shook her head, as if to remove the thought and kept going. Up ahead she noticed a break in the branches. She assumed it was the edge of the forrest. She slowed, and peeked through an opening in the leaves, and then jumped down to a lower branch, and one lower than that from there. She then jumped to the ground and kept going, breaking through the forrest's edge, into the light of the open field just outside Nikku City.
That was her destination. She was going to the city. A place she had never been, but had wanted to visit for a long time. She was hoping this would be a great day to explore, and possibly make new friends along the way. She looked around to see if there were any other Nikkus traveling through the field between the forrest and city. She slowed to a walk, to catch her breath a bit.

Ying lived near the base of the mountain at the edge of the forest. He's a very anti-social Nikku, yet he was willing to try new things. Today he had decided to take a trip to Nikku City, he had heard about it of course but then there was the fact that it would be busy and crowded with others, that for him was a scary thought. This little nikku liked living on his own, living in solitude. Of course he was shy around others because of this.
Ying traveled through the forest at his own pace, four times on his journey he through the forest he had tripped. Either over his own paws or over a fallen branch or root. Yes this little Nikku was also clumsy but still he was willing to make the effort to try and see something new. In a sense you could call him a curious little fellow, a shy, clumsy, and having very little self confidence curious fellow.
After about an hour or two of walking at his own pace, he finally made it out of the forest to the plains. He squinted his eyes at the change of light. He really did refer the forest to these plains not so bright and not open either, more places to hide himself as well. In the plains he could be spotted easily by another Nikku, then that Nikku might wan to talk to him. Ying didn't really do good with speaking with others. Quickly he moved into the plains hoping he wasn't seen by another, trying to hide his white body among the grass.

Roxy sniffed the air. The flowers smelled wonderful and the grass was a beautiful green. Roxy's favorite flowers, daisies, grew here in this field. She spotted a clump nearby and went over, picked one and put it behind her ear. The stem caught in her fur and stayed there. The grass came up to her knees, and was even higher in other spots. She roamed around, sniffing other kinds of flowers and out of the corner of her eye, she spotted something white.
She quickly ducked down into the grass and peeked her head up to see what it was she had seen. She searched with her eyes until she found the white spot again. It seemed to be moving. She studied it and noticed it was another Nikku. Elated at seeing another Nikku, she ducked back down in the grass and made her way over. A couple feet from the white spot, she stopped, being as quiet as possible. From this closer position, she noticed that this Nikku was male, and that he was wearing a black scarf, and had small black wings on his back. Roxy had never seen a Nikku with small backwings, quite unlike the winged Nikkus she had heard of. She also noticed he had a marking on his hind leg quarter that she had also never seen before. This new Nikku was a curious creature indeed.
Roxy decided she had to find out more about this strange one. She crept a little closer and popped her head above the grass. "Hi there!" she said, in a very chipper, friendly voice. She wagged her tail a bit, and stood taller, waiting for the other Nikku to reply.

"Meep!" Ying cried out as he backed up. He tripped over his own feet and fell backwards. Bringing his paws over his head he quickly shut his eyes, basically hoping that this Nikku would leave. He tried to make his form smaller curling up a bit, curling his tail around him. The raccoon Nikku suddenly popping out of the grass like that had scared Ying greatly.

Roxy giggled a little at the reaction from the other Nikku. She approached him cautiously but crept right up to him, and stood beside him, leaning down to peek at him. He was curled up so tightly she could barely see his face at all. "I don't bite." she said sweetly, "Well, most of the time." She chuckled lightly.
She lifted his scarf with her paw, and pulled it closer to examine it. "I like your scarf. What's your name? I'm Roxy." Clearly, Roxy wasn't a bit shy. She dropped the scarf and walked around the Nikku to his back. She studied his wings. "I like your wings. Very neat. Kind of makes me want a pair." as she said this, she looked over her shoulder at her back, and swished her tail back and forth. "Are you going to lie there all day? I didn't mean to scare you." She sat down and waited.

His wings twitched a bit when she spoke about them, half the time Ying believe they had a mind of their own. He still wanted her to leave him be, still he did take a small curious glance through his paws at her. Seeing her sitting and basically staring at him waiting for an answer he believe that she would never leave. Maybe he should at least try to make conversation with her.
Slowly his tail uncurled from around him and he let his paws slightly drop from his face. "Ying," he squeaked his name in a barely audible voice. He was still scared but he also was beginning to realize that he wasn't going to get out of this one..not with her anyways.

"Ying is a nice name," she beamed at him, "what's it mean? And can you fly with those wings?" she lifted a paw to touch one of the feathers. It was very soft. "You're very shy aren't you. I promise I won't hurt you. Where are you headed? I saw you hiding in the grass. Are you going to the city? That's where I'm going. Have you ever been before?"
She took a breath after her barage of questions. "Oops. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bombard you with so many questions. I'm pretty nosy, but how else do you get to know someone?" She gave a big bright smile and noticed a butterfly flitting nearby above a flower. She quickly ducked down in the grass again, and darted towards it, causing it to startle and take flight. She jumped after it a couple times and as it flew too high for her, she went back to Ying, and sat back down. "I like butterflies. They're alot of fun to chase. I never hurt them, only chase." She giggled.

Very Noisy and talkative...maybe she likes to hear herself talk. Ying thought to himself. He waited for a while his black eyes scanning over the other Nikku. "Does it have to mean anything?" He replied back to her question. Ying then ignored her other question, slightly embarrassed that he hadn't even tried flying himself. Truthfully he didn't want to learn how to fly. "Yeah the City..but now I'm thinking that this trip might have been a mistake." Answering one of her other questions as he slowly moved to his feet.

"No. A name doesn't have to mean anything. I just thought it might." she replied to him. She didn't mind that he didn't answer her other questions.
"A mistake? But it's a beautiful day with beautiful weather, and all these beautiful flowers. I do so enjoy the spring." She took in a deep breath of the fresh springtime air. "Do you?"
A breeze stirred the grass and flowers in the field, carrying with it the scents of the different flowers. She sniffed at the breeze. "Mmm. I love the smell of flowers too. My favorite are daisies." She pointed to the daisy stuck behind her ear.

"I just don't think I am ready for it," He admitted softly. "I like all of the seasons. They all have something to like about them."

Roxy nodded her head, and got an idea. She wanted him to come with her. She swiftly leaned down and grabbed his scarf in her mouth. "Come with me to the city." she said though clenched teeth, keeping hold of the scarf. She stood and tugged a little, trying to get him to stand and walk with her. "It'll be fun!" she said again, still keeping hold of the scarf.

"Okay," she shrugged, and opened her mouth, letting go of the scarf. "If you don't want to, I won't make you." She walked away and disappeared into the grass, hiding a few feet away so she could keep an eye on him. She wasn't going to give up that easily.

Finally I'm alone once again, Ying thought to himself. He shook himself off a bit and then stretched. He gave a small glance back over his shoulder towards the forest. "I suppose it would be a waste to go back now that I'm this far," He muttered to himself with a small sigh. His wings shifted a bit. He then darted in the direction Roxy had disappeared to. "Roxy," He called out softly. "If your still out there...I'll come to the city with you,"

Roxy kept very still and watched Ying as he approached. She was very happy he had changed his mind, but she wanted to make sure. She waited until he was inches from her, and she pounced, causing him to roll over and she was standing above him. "YAY!" she shouted. "I'm so glad you changed your mind." She took hold of his scarf and helped him back up. "Sorry for pouncing you. I hope you're not hurt."
She let go of his scarf and waited for him to steady himself. "So, what changed your mind?" she asked curiously.
