Jason lead Selena up the stairs to a portrait of ST. Nickolas. The portrait said," Ahh it's the young American. Password for privacy i suppose?"
"Yes Nik. Peppermint Candy."
"Yes and Happy holidays!" the portrait said opening for them.

Following Jason, she saw the portrait of St. Nickolas as well. Selena looked at the portrait curiously, especially when it opened after Jason gave it the password.
'How in bloody hell did this guy already manage to get a secret room from one of the protraits? Usually the portraits that covered doors were too proud and boisterous to give up their passwords to a student.' she thought.
She peered into the room hiding behind the now-open portrait.

Jason walked in and turned around, "Come on in!"
Then he noted her looks of confusion."Wondering how I know this place? My sister told me about it. She went here last year and this was her favorite room. Its her phonograph and such."

Selena followed him into the room and looked around. As she stepped through, the portrait closed behind her.
She saw the phonograph. She'd seen them before, but this one looked particularly old. She adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder.

Jason placed one of the records on the phonograph and charmed it to keep playing by itself.A nice Mozart piece started playing."May I have this dance?" Jason said trying to sound gentlemanly.

As Selena looked around the room, she heard music begin to play. Turning back towards Jason and the phonograph, she saw that he had set it to play music.
When he asked her to dance, she smiled. "Sure." she replied with a giggle. She took off her bag and placed it on the ground.

Jason walked up to Selena and took her hands. "Here we go."

Taking Jason's hands, she followed his movements as best as she could.
This wasn't her first time dancing. She had had to learn to dance for some of the parties that her parents threw. Even with practice, she was still a bit awkward with it. At least she was now good enough to not step on her partner's toes, as she had initially done when she was still learning.
She definitely was having a time trying to coordinate her movements to his.

As the music went on Jason felt a bit awkward with the dance. He'd never danced before so he was kinda winging it at the moment.
"Seems you can dance a bit better than I can."he joked.
He extended his arm hoping to twirl her,but he lost his grip and accidentally let go.
"Selena! I'm so sorry!"

Dancing was indeed a bit awkward. She smiled at his comment about her dancing. She really didn't think that she was doing so great a job.
When Jason accidently let go, she responded by saying, "No problem."
She thought for a moment and said, "Why don't we switch parts so that you can watch me show you how to do the male half?"

"Thanks, I'd like that." Jason said relieved he hadn't hurt her. He walked over to the phonograph and flipped the record over. Now the music was something of Bach but he didn't really care. "Thank you Selena."

Taking his hands, she attempted to show him the steps of the male lead. But it was plain obvious that she wasn't very good at it. She mixed up a few steps and stumbled on others. But then again, she had never actually practiced the male lead, only watched Damian do it during the dance lessons that their parents had made them take. She kept looking down at her feet, trying to make sure that she got the steps correctly.

Suddenly the Clock tower boomed out the time,Midnight.... Almost seems like a cinderella story. The first bell rang out," Selena.. It was fun with........." The bell rand a second time."You tonight. Um this week during......" A third and much louder chime,"The Hogsmede trip. I was wondering." The bell almost seemed to say,"Do it already!!" "Would you go with me to the Three Broomsticks?"
Time seemed to stop for Jason as he asked the question. Even as he finished the fifth bell seemed to have been put on hold as he waited for her answer.Ohh please say yes.

Selena blinked, a bit confused. She heard him and understood his question, but it still came as somewhat of a shock to her.
"Ummmm...ok." she answered in a tiny voice. She wasn't sure if it was right to accept his offer for a date, seeing as how she barely knew him, plus she'd get a lecture out of Damian if he found out.
She nodded her head a bit, just to make sure that she was sure of her decision.
