Background: After a major war between two warring nations, a king has taken throne over the two. however, as suspicious activity begins to form in the kings castle, poeple begin to grow suspicious of their new ruler. New troops of unidentifieable origin or race begin to pour into the castle and poeple begin dissapearing off of the streets.
Setting: Fuedal Europe.

Derrik Walks out into the town square and looks up into the sky. It would start raining soon. Oh well. He liked the rain. Derrik brushes his hair out of his face as he hears a loud shout coming from the alley way behind one of the homes. He quickly reaches for his sword at his side and rushes around the courner. Kindness such as this was very rare in this current time, but, as a temple guard, it was his job to ensure that the peace was maintained. Derrik quickly turns the courner and spots a group of soldiers harrassing a women in grey rags. Derrik grins. This would be fun. Lately there had been alot of these strange soldiers gathering in the villiages. Nobody knew anything about them either. Even Derrik, who was a personal guard for the kingdom, had never seen the soldiers before. It wasn't hard to spot them though. They always wore the same grey and red trimmed armor and wore the same black cloth around thier faces to hide themselves. He had fought a few before, and they were very strange. Thier fighting style was very slow and rugged, but their endurance was amazing. Derrik takes a step into the alley way, drawing his sword.
" Soldiers. What bussiness do you have here?" Derrik says, Addressing the apparent leader of the group of men. One of the soldiers turns it's head in Derriks direction, drawing it's blade lazily.

Scionis watches as a temple guard suddenly grows alert and turns down an alley. He decides to follow, wondering what would interest a temple guard.
(I'm adding him as soon as I finish my barracks.)

Derrik readies his blade at his side. The soldiers thrusts at his recklessly. Derrik quickly swats the attack away, pounding the soldier hard in the chest with his sword. The soldier tumbles backwards, falling to the ground. Derrik takes his sword and plants it straight through it's chest. It lays still for a moment. " Well, are you going to answer me or just stand there and make me kill another one of you?" Derrik barks at the other soldiers. Suddenly the Supposed dead soldiers reaches out and clamps it's grip on Derrik's ankle. Derrik yells out in surprise and takes his sword away and lobs it's arm off. "What the-" Derrik says in surprise as the soldier picks itself back up and joins the other soldiers.

Ranana tsked from where she was standing in the shadows. "Should have done some research before attacking with that big ego." Circumspect, she keeps her eyes on the scene before her, readying her whip just in case.

One of the soldiers lunge recklessly at Derrik. Derrik crouches down, swinging himself counterclockwise and knocking it's feet out from under it. The soldier hits the ground hard. The other soldiers look at the fallen soldier and turn their head. "What the-" Derrik says as the soldiers heads turn like a clocks hands might correct them self. What...Are you?" Derrik says, his sword at the ready. Suddenly the soldier on the ground grabs at Derrik's leg. Derrik shouts out in surprise and kicks it across the face. Derrik watches as it's helmet and mask go tumbling away, revealing a black misshapen blob like face; almost, like a black ink amoeba like creature. The soldier's body suddenly melts down and crawls back to the other soldiers and reforms, a new helmet taking the place of the old one. The soldiers all turn and take off running down another alley.

"Are you alright?" Scionis asks as he approaches, his simple staff held in a hand as he looks at the two people. He was curious as to the soldiers, but some things take precedance over others.

Roxanne walked into the alley, her axe on her shoulder, and her bow across her back. She looked around and shrugged. "What's going on?"

"Dang those things were weird". Derrik says, brushing his shoulder off and resheathing his sword. "Mam, are you ok?" Derrik asks, helping the woman back to her feet. " Do you know why those soldiers were after you?" Derrik asks.
" I don't know. They have been snatching poeple off of the streets for weeks now. Only one person has ever returned. And, he went absoulutely insane afterwards". The women says shakily.

"Don't worry." Scionis says carefully, trying to not upset the woman. "Nothing can touch you while I'm around." He turns to Derrik. "Give her some time to rest, and then ask her. I'm Scionis Aeronimus, by the way."

"Derrik Pherisk. Head of temple guard". Derrik says mootoniously, nodding to Scionis and resheathing his sword. " I was patroling when i noticed those soldiers abusing this woman. As the temple guard, it was my duty to look into it". He says, looking around for the woman who apparently had ran off.

"Soldiers?" Scionis asks in surprise. He had come a long way to this city because it was supposed to be peaceful. If there was any harm in store for it then... "For who?" he asks, making a mental list of border nations that might have any hostility.

" I'm not sure. They bare a crest, but I don't recognize it from any kingdom. All i know about them is that i've seen alot of them in the king's castle and courtyards lately". Derrik says, Looking around the alley way. " I have an informant inside the castle. He should be making a report to me soon enough".

"In the kings castle?" Scionis asks, surprised. "They're all here, right now?" A faint thought stirred in the back of his mind, but it slipped away before he found it. If these soldiers were in the castle, then that meant that either they were guests, or the country had been taken over without anyone noticing. Either way, it didn't sound good.

A sigh escaped his lips. Aston had his boots caught in a gate. Again. This thing always happened to him. He always got trapped in one thing or another. From the traps set up by his family back on their farm to capture small animals to the door frames that always grabbed ahold of his clothing. Everything was out to get him.
Gripping the top of his boot, he pulled as hard as he could. But, nothing happened, maybe a slight movement if anything. He pulled again, and tumbled out of the predicament. He stumbled out of the side alley that he had been stuck in, trying to not loose his footing after the momentum from his pull.
He focused on some people that were talking to each other nearby. But, this conversation didn't seem normal, but then, he couldn't hear anything. He just hoped that they could help point him in the direction of some action, so he could try and prove that he was a worthy son of his father's reputation.
"Uh, Hi," he said to the two, not noticing he was interrupting anything. "Do you need some help with something?"
((Now we see Noftin try and attempt to play a sane person. This should be fun.))
