-Lilith's tail tuft flicked back and forth with irritation, meeting the pace of her claws as she unconiciously slid them forward before retracting them back. Why she was feeling this spark of rebellion today was unknown, maybe simply hormones? Maybe her father had pushed it just a bit this morning. Purple eyes sliding to the wound on her shoulder, she studied it for a long moment, before she huffed, irritated.
Through their short lifetimes they'd been kept on a fairly short leash, able to wander a bit, but it'd always been cut short by the promise and demand of training either from mother and father. Life seemed to be a battle ground, but it wasn't like she minded that.. in fact she quite enjoyed the feeling of flesh under her paws and the tug of her muscles under stress. She just was feeling noncompliant today.
What would their parents do if she just... didn't show up tonight? Everyday she grew nearer and nearer to their size. How long would it be before she could overtake father? Pondering on the rebellious notion for the moment, she lifted herself taking a few steps towards the unknown distance.-

Another lion's tail twitched, the tip flicking, reflecting the dark smirk on his maw. Lucifer rested on his belly, hind legs sprawled behind him, forepaws, stained red, lay before. He may have appeared as a sphinx, or if one dared look more closely, a monster.
Between his paws, a hapless creature, or rather what was left of it, a badger, no longer recognizable against the red earth. He had taken great pleasure in flaying then dismembering the beast, talons severing flesh with surgical precision. One could only hope the pitiful soul had been killed at the first strike, spared the cruel torment of the merciless predator.
Evil intent shone in green eyes, like a hellish fire, dark talons lightly tapping against the earth, studying, savoring his chosen task. He had taken its hide, now he wanted its bones, and he intended to rend through every scrap of flesh until he had them.
Intent in his task as he was, his nose filled with the scent of blood, his sister could have been standing behind him and he would not have know, or perhaps he simply would not have cared.

-Her 'escape' proceeded with slow deliberate steps, no cubbish bounds, pace not expecting to be found. Her eyes narrowed however as a familar figure touched her sight. At first she thought she might have found mother, but the flash of blue and tan so similar to her own quickly removed that thought from her mind.
As she drew forward still the scent of death and blood touched her nose, and she sought the source, smirking a little when she drew near enough to the smear in front of her twin.
She couldn't say she really understood it, how much he liked to play with his food, but whatever. There was actually something really nice about the copper scent of blood on a warm day.
Looking over his mangled mass of muscles, and the lack of blood upon his maw, she scoffed mildly in amusement.- "I'm pretty sure it's dead enough Lucifer."

"A pity, it screamed so beautifully."
Eyes fixed on the remains at his paws, he was neither bothered or concerned by his sister's presence. Despite what his father may have wished him to think, Lucifer did not think less of his sister for being female, (not that he thought any more of her for being his twin either). She was there, whatever, he really didn't care.
A paw raised, one talon sinking deep into what had once been the creature's spine, until he felt the satisfying click against bone. Yes, those bones would be his, such a deliciously gruesome task.
It was not until his talon had finished its path, cutting through flesh and muscle to reveal the spine beneath, that he bothered to look up, green eyes falling on violet as different as their hides were alike. Had he not truly registered her presence until then? Or was he simply too occupied to care to speak more than those few words?
"What do you want, Lilith?"
There was no hint of irritation or even curiosity in his voice, only a stated question, nothing more or less.

-Lilith's eyes rolled, not really out of disrespect, but instead in chiding of herself. She should have known what he was up to considering she'd spent her entire childhood with him. And in a way she wished she were as easily appeased as Lucifer.- "So easily amused," she stated simply, matter of factly, her eyes watching the final desicration of the creature with her own brand of indifference.
The swivel of eyes, and sudden attention on her, actually caught her by surprise, and the fur upon her back ruffled instinctively.- "I don't really want anything..." -And yet.... why not take advantage of this oppurtunity that'd presented itself? Thought full of ego, Lilith was not quite so stubbornly obstinate as her parents. She grasped the fact that sometimes other could help... that more COULD be done with two, and it didn't always come down to a solitary show of defiance, superiority, and/or stupidity.
There was only a half and half chance he'd come anyway.. but why not? Shifting her position in the sand she spoke as her eyes shifted out to the horizon.- "I am breaking out though. Going on a little 'adventure' for the day."
-Eyes shifting back, she narrowed them softly as her words trailed off.- "I assume you're either coming with me, or keeping your mouth shut about it to mom and dad. Correct?"

"Perhaps, but I am not the one with the look of a lost puppy."
A smirk touched his maw, tail twitching as he watched his sister. Could she really have been so startled? Surely she knew him well enough by now, they had been born into the same 'happy little family' after all.
But her words had caught his attention, paws flexing with his thoughts. It was a thought he had entertained himself in recent days, to simply leave and see the world as he chose to, to stain the earth with his own trail of blood. Only he would not have come back.
"Why come back? Why not just leave all this forever?"
He paused in his words, rising to his paws, batting away the remains of his 'toy' as he did. Joining his sister meant interrupting his task, leaving behind the bones he had so maliciously craved. Well, he supposed the world was full of such creatures, he could find another, perhaps one that lived long enough to fill his ears with its screams.
"It's what I would do."

-She huffed a little, purple eyes narrowing at the chide, though she didn't take it any further than that. Sometimes when she watched Lucifer train with the family she wondered how far their family ties would hold them. Whether any mercy lie inside that mirrored figure, or if he'd be as thrilled to pull out her spine as he was that prey before him. It was a short lived thought nonetheless, attention pulling elsewhere.
Why come back? It was a simple question and simply answered. She'd bought into her parent's words throughout her young life. Through experiences and through words akin to brainwashing she'd come to believe they were stronger.. better.. greater then the general populace. So why not take advantage of that? Glean all she could before she headed out into the world. She smirked a little as she answered, tail flicking nonchalantly back and forth.- "One day I'll leave and not come back, that's for certain. But I'd certainly like to knock the smirk off of father's face once before that happens."
"If it's what you want to do though, I'm certainly not going to stop you." -Would she get in trouble..? If she left with her brother but returned without him? Mmm... it really didn't matter that much, she'd been in trouble before, and she could always lie. In the meantime, enough thought, more action.
Taking his rise as agreement she started once again on her path. Hopefully she.. or they would find something interesting to do with their day.-

Such dark thoughts may have crossed his mind, surely a lion skeleton would have been a great prize. But he had no desire to murder his sister (perhaps another day when another had taken her life). Whether it was any sort of bond or simple indifference that kept him from such, at least one lion was safe from his claws.
His answer to her words was laughter, a cold, haunting sound, as much mocking as amused. Was it really so important to her to earn their father's approval, to prove to him in any way that he had ever been wrong about anything? She was in for a long and disappointing life.
"Will that be before, or after he knocks your head off?"
For his own part, Lucifer could not have cared less. He had been trained well, growing strong each day of his life, a powerful young beast. Now he had taken what he needed, he neither sought or cared for approval, from parent or sibling. His family was strong, there was no questioning that, but he was certain there was more that they could not offer him, and he knew that with leaving he would grow much stronger than he ever would here.
A smirk on his maw, paws stepped against the earth, what unfortunate creature would cross their paths. Or perhaps, something more entertaining waited.
"We will see."
